This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The main reason for 1-star is the customer service…read more First the front desk person (Alex) said he's the only one working. No manager is around. We were given a room on the second floor where it is only accessible by stairs. I asked if it's only two levels of rooms if there are no elevator and Alex said yes. That's the first lie. Subsequently I found out there is an elevator which does go all the way to level 7 (top floor). Then we found the room given to us on the second floor was very warm with no air. The technician came by twice. To fix the ceiling in bathroom (almost falling off) and to check the temperature. His device showed the temperature was 19c but frankly it felt more like 29c with little to no air flow coming from the vent. We were told to close the bathroom door to increase room coolness. We decided to let the room cool by leaving the room and met friends for dinner. This was around 530 pm. We came back close to 10 pm and the room was still warm. This was during the heatwave with temperature up to 35c in July 2024. We asked Alex if we could get another room. His first response was "you are welcomed to check out and I'll give you a full refund." Wow! Just wow! I've never encountered any front line service staff not even trying to solve the issue. He insisted all rooms are the same and there are no rooms available to change. Another hotel guest came by with similar complaints on the AC. She's on 3rd floor and the ac is not working too. Finally Alex let us try another room on the 2nd floor. It was equally bad. The ground floor was nice and cool and you can feel the difference when you reached second floor. No cool air at all, not even in the hallway. We kept asking Alex for another room in a non confrontational way. So in the end he let us check out a room on the 7th floor. It was just a bit cooler with more airflow but the tap in bathroom didn't seem to be working. Plus the room was carpeted and felt dirty. We decided to stay on in our existing room and Alex said we would get a discount. But it can only be done at check out the next day. My mistake was not getting that in writing somewhere as it was a different staff (Shivam) on duty when we checked out. Shivam said he would need to check with the manager who has conveniently just left on a flight to Calgary. Shivam said he would call me in 2 hours to update me on the discount. Guess what. It has been a week and I have not heard anything from him. Trying to find an email address is a mystery as this hotel seemed to have many names to it. Divya Sutra Plaza and Conference Centre (the current name on the signboard etc) Riveria Village Green Hotel (the name on my credit card charge) A warning to anyone wanting to stay here. Don't do it! The rooms are very outdated right now. The HVAC is obviously not working well. No elevator access if you're on second floor. Ice machine not working. Pop vending machine not working. The only bright side is our room has a standing floor fan. The other rooms have a small desk fan. The other guest on level 3 has no fan at all! It was a most uncomfortable stay. I should have gone to other bigger known names in the hospitality industry and not try this place. Google reviews are obviously a lie.

This was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life…read more I brought 18 families of young children to this hotel as we were in town for recreational activities for our children, and we were mostly gone daily from 8am until 9pm. We barely used the space, and when we did it was TERRIBLE. KITCHEN Fridge didn't close. Only 8 spoons, veggie peeler, 4 dirty glasses, 2 saucers. NO FORKS, PLATES, BOWLS.Called front desk, they brought us 3 dirty forks, one massive steel bowl. 5 of us in the suite, and we could not eat together for lack of dishes. Dishwasher didn't work. Our room did NOT have TOILET PAPER, SHAMPOO, CLEAN TOWELS, HANDSOAP. It did have FILTHY toilet, bathtub, a clump of hair on the wall. The comforter was covered in sharpie, sheets not clean. *HOUSEKEEPING DOES NOT EXIST! THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED Kitchen was greasy and we had to clean it before we could even cook in it. We booked a FULL kitchen but had to go buy our own dishes - that was the first red flag. It DID have a FILTHY bathtub and a MASSIVE clump of hair on the wall. The toilet was also filthy. The bedrooms were an OK size. They only had 3 small drawers, so not ideal for travelling with a family or for a long stay. The pillows were mediocre and the beds were not comfortable. The comforter was covered in black sharpie and we questioned if the sheets were even cleaned before our stay. *HOUSEKEEPING DOES NOT EXIST* AMENITIES The restaurant is a ghost town and one of our guests got mild food poisoning. The lettuce was brown and the mayonnaise was maybe off. CUSTOMER SERVICE is TOXIC On our first day {tuesday} there we were surprised that the "Full Kitchen" did not include anything as mentioned above. The gentleman at the front desk tried to resolve this by bringing us the wrong items - we ended up having to go to the local store and buy what we needed to be able to cook. On our 4th day there {Friday}, we had friends who were also staying in the hotel come to our room for a pre-dinner snack - we had been gone ALL DAY and so we went to our room from 430 - 6pm before returning to the competition. PLEASE NOTE WE WERE ONLY IN THE ROOM FROM 430 PM to 6 pm. While we were there together, the front desk phoned and said "you have a noise complaint and have to leave the hotel immediately" . We took this to mean that we had to leave our room - and not that we were kicked out. We immediately began packing our items to go as we had to be somewhere else anyways. We were gone within 10 minutes of the call. ***** Please note we were not being loud however we wanted to respect the call so we left for the day and did not return until bed, and then we were gone the next morning again by 8 am. When we returned from our competition and brunch at 1pm our room was locked - including the costumes our children needed to change into for their next show, as well as our food items. The front desk let us in and said "you have one hour to remove your items or we are calling the police. You have to leave the hotel immediately." we asked "on what grounds" and their answer was "we don't have to tell you." they then said " we actually already called the police and they are coming to help you pack and move" WE CALLED the police. WE were the first call they received so it turns out the hotel was using bullying tactics to try and scare us. When the RCMP arrived AT OUR REQUEST {I recorded this entire visit so feel free to message me if you want to hear it!} they also asked the hotel on what grounds, and DEBBIE let them know that "we dont have to tell you but it's because we have video of multiple children going into this room" So that was the reason they wanted us to move to a different hotel - First of all, DEBBIE would not show us the video - Secondly, our friend who was there said "I was in their room and so was my child - am I being asked to leave and if so, why not" again DEBBIE refused to share any footage or proof that their was a SINGLE guest complaint. There were a total of 6 YOUNG children that went to our room at most - 3 were ours, and 3 were friends. The RCMP told DEBBIE that she was being unreasonable We said "ok we will leave and get another hotel, can we pack in a couple hours, as we have a fridge full of food and 6 suitcases, and we have to leave right now or we will miss our child's time slot" DEBBIE said "You can leave now - but your stuff won't be here " The police AGAIN told the hotel staff DEBBIE that she was not making sense and unreasonable. We had to leave that minute, so we would catch the show. We said "we are offering in good faith that we will come back in 2 hours to pack and leave, however we currently have nowhere to go and need to get sorted" DEBBIE let us know "I told those other 2 BEST WESTERN hotels that you can not stay there either." NO PROOF OF COMPLAINT OR VIDEO SHOWN

The grounds are well-landscaped, the lobby has very comfortable, modern seating, along with free coffee and tea. My room, 241, was in the back of the building, facing the railway tracks - there are trains which whistle past, which I enjoyed. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and a great lounging sofa, soft and comfy. Bonus points for a window which opens to let in fresh air. Small fridge and microwave, coffee and tea maker in the room. Bathroom is small but well laid out, with toilet and shower in one area, and the vanity with large well lighted mirror just outside. Nice toiletries in individual packages, with a very soft body soap. Lots of clean fluffy towels. Overall, a surprisingly good stay. The indoor pool is very clean, a good temperature and a pleasant room with no odours. Cons- there is no elevator so you climb the stairs to the second floor - if you have any mobility issues, book on the main floor. Some minor construction on the piping on the main floor, however it has no effect on the water supply. Lots of free parking both front and back. Denny's restaurant on the property offers 10% off for hotel guests.

Arrived on a very cold winter day at 6:30 pm for our reservation. The heat was TURNED OFF and the…read moreroom was quite cold. I needed help to get the heater settings right and was told it would need to be set to the maximum - +30C to be comfortable. I expressed concern that 30C should be too hot but was told that setting was needed in this extreme cold. An hour later running the blow dryer turned off the power breaker to the room, turning off heat, lights and outlets. The desk clerk couldn't fix it so the General Manager had to be called in. He got the power back on. I mentioned the cold and was told we could leave our belongings there and sleep in a different room or he could bring in another heater. There was no offer to actually relocate us to a warm room. We opted for a heater. The second heater started to warm the space so we (me -age 75, and 10-year old grandchild) opted to stay in this room. We couldn't expect another room to have heat on! We woke up alternately too hot and too cold and adjusted the heater trying to get the heat to a comfortable temperature when there was no thermostat to set. When I checked out I was clear that it had not been a pleasant night and received 'heartfelt apologies'. I'll go elsewhere next trip to Vernon.

Fresh, clean bed linens.Comfy pillows.Secure, central location adjacent to stores, malls and a beautiful park view. Price pointed $10-20 more than it should be for what is offered. Def 2 ** #301was a dirty, unkept poorly arranged room. Our room almost looked as if it were a storage room for surplus furnishings. A person with mobility problems would be unable to navigate amongst the clutter and thoughtless layout of our room and take note as this motel is old it has no elevator. The interior of this property is old and sorely in need of some attention and simple updating. ( damaged/worn lampshades ) If you see the hand towel in my pics you'll notice the filth I cleaned off of all surfaces which obviously have not been cleaned in quite some time. The mini fridge was also dirty. I personally cleaned all handles, table tops, countertops including phone and remote.Coffee machine was still dirty after what looked to be a weak attempt at cleaning, so I ran it through without coffee to clean it first. Soiled carpets stained my socks within mere steps, thus we wore our shoes to avoid whatever it was on our carpet.Much potential at this hotel if some time was invested in decluttering and regular cleaning or cleaning period. Not a bad little Motel, just neglected. I however would not book this property ( in current condition )more than one night due to the lack of cleanliness.Kudos to the fast friendly check in though. Potential in w8ing. Appy Trails, Brianm foodieatlarge.yelp.ca
