I worked at Tomorrow's World from 1997 to 1999, but I was a customer from 1989 to 2013! I used to work on a Friday Nights and it was heaving! Excitement on kids' faces when they got a game or a video/DVD. They'd then scramble for sweets and popcorn before rushing back to their parents car to get home quick! Adults would get just as excited as the kids - especially if they managed to bag a very new and popular release just as the little "OUT OF STOCK" tag was removed from the display cases - you know what I'm talking about! Hahaha! In my years working there, 99.9% of the time the customers and staff were all very happy with Tomorrow's World and what it offered to local community. £3.50 for a new release Overnight Rental is now an absolute SNIP in comparison to the £15.95 "Rental" for new release on iTunes and Amazon Prime etc. What an absolute shame that "Love Film (Now Amazon Prime)" and "Netflix" contributed to the demise of such an industry, only to massively inflate the costs on movies once the "competition" had been removed. I for one would love to see the re-emergence of such an industry, purely to be a part of the community and re-ignite that excitement of the EVENT of going to the Video Library. What a lot of DVD rental shops lack is old movies or box-sets which they have plenty of here. Gaming wise, they have a fantastic range of XBox and Wii games but could maybe do with a few more PlayStation titles. Plenty of munchies available too for that long night in!

The rentals are slightly cheaper than the likes of Blockbuster; you can get a DVD/Game to ret for £3.50, or 2 for £5. They've got a loyalty card system to encourage regular renting, although I think blockbuster have the exact same thing as well. The range offered here is perfectly adequate, although nothing that really separates itself from bigger rivals or even shops like Video Box. Thankfully for Tomorrows World though; they are the only DVD shop for a mile or two.

They have a big pre-owned section and normally this is one of the places to get some really good prices on pre-owned games. Recently they have also started to sell phones which to be honest is really random but other than this the staff are really good and have a good product knowledge and the stock is pretty good too, they always have really competitive packages on their consoles and games.

Horrible service, and NEVER delivered a PAID ORDER!…read more I ordered a game that didn't see a physical release where I live. My order was cancelled multiple times, and I had to call my bank on three separate occasions to figure out what was happening. Eventually GAME stopped canceling my order(s), but it was a major inconvenience. So now I've been waiting 5 MONTHS for delivery! The last time I was able to track my order online it said "Shipped". Now I can't even track the order online. I assumed that my order was taking a long time due to it being an international order. Had I known about GAME's draconian refund policies, I would never have chosen to do business with them. I've contacted GAME several times regarding this, and they've REFUSED TO ISSUE ME A REFUND OF ANY KIND FOR A PAID ORDER. That's right. I paid them, and they NEVER delivered. Shame on you GAME! That's NOT how you conduct a respectable business! I would recommend that any potential customers avoid this place! Zero stars for failure to deliver product, or issue a refund.

I revisited Video Box today with the intention of renting a film or two. The film Fermat's Room, for example, was available to be rented for one night at the price of £3.90, a quite exorbitant fee considering the film can be bought for just £5.98 on amazon. What this store needs to do is lower the price of its items to something closer to the £2 mark, introduce more deals round the store encouraging individuals to rent more items at a time, and increase the duration of time dvds can be taken out for. Until one, or all of the aforementioned occurs, Video Box is worth avoiding, and I say that as someone who rents approximately 10 movies a week.

It was slightly cheaper than Video Box, but although it stocked about the same number of films, I would spend half an hour browsing the shelves there and come away with nothing, because I couldn't find a single thing I wanted. Imagine my delight when I entered Video Box! Comparably a video mecca, with a large section of foreign films, and at the back of the store, films organised by director! How super geeky and yet educational and cool at the same time. New releases are admittedly expensive, at going on £4 for a night, but if you rent 2 at once it suddenly gets a lot better, costing you £5 for both, and you can keep them for 2 nights. They also do deals on dvd box sets, like you pay a tenner and get the set for a week. Plus the staff are really nice, and they just look exactly how you would imagine dvd rental store staff to look.

Despite its fairly unoriginal name and hard-to-find location, this is a great little video shop…read more Its films don't seem to change very often, but it does have most of the latest hits and it more than makes up for it with its spectacular range of lesser-known films. The ground floor has sci-fi, action, comedy, drama and children's, whilst downstairs has TV box sets and foreign language films. There's a little section by the counter with highly recommended European cinema films or documentaries and the staff are very knowledgable and refreshingly honest about your choices. The standard renting time is only one night, but most customers are local, so this isn't usually a problem. The prices are quite good, as are the opening hours. It's very refreshing to enter a video shop with such a melange of genres and films that stretch back many years, rather than just the latest Tom Cruise offering. You're not bombarded with advertising, giant cardboard cut-outs or deals on sweets; it's quite simply a movie shop that does movies. Fantastic.
