The interior features table seating, some coolers with ice cold Coca-Cola (and Pepsi, RC Cola for those wanting more options) and other soft drinks, a kitchen area and of course, walls littered with amazing vintage farming advertisements, thermometers, antique tractors, etc. This place takes me back to my childhood, growing up in a small town with nothing more than a grocery store and some grain elevators. A Midwest mom and pop joint, one of the finest I've set foot in. The folks working in the store were friendly and welcoming. After getting our drinks, we ordered entrees consisting of a double cheeseburger and Cajun cheese fries, as well as a chicken sandwich (add cheese) and mozzarella sticks with, you guessed it, another side of cheese. Both sandwiches were fantastic and fresh, hot off the grill. The burger I had was perfectly done, with a slim char on the outside. The chicken was very clean and juicy. Both were mouth watering. The Cajun fries were cooked just as I like them: crispy but not burnt. The cheese had some spice to it but not an overwhelming amount to the point it was "hot". I did taste a mozzarella stick and the absence of grease and the abundance of crispy, well seasoned breading was fantastic. Top notch all the way around. The wait for the food was surprisingly very short considering everything is made fresh. We felt as if it was just another day eating in the kitchen at grandmas, which I miss a lot these days. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to slow down and take a step back in time and enjoy a meal. In my opinion places like this get overlooked and shouldn't. I can't wait to come back and try the Angus burger!

Followed by a small touristy trinkets store combined with a few shopping carts full of melons for you to purchase. If that wasn't enough, you can head to the counter where you can choose from a delicious selection of homemade fudge - including but not limited to: Heath bar, Butterfinger, red velvet, salty caramel, double chocolate and about 10 others I can't remember. Plus you can choose from a shelf full of canned goods! But what we came for was the lunch. And it turns out, so everyone else. All of the tables in the place were packed (~5 tables, about 15 of us total) and everyone seemed wholly satisfied. I opted for the cuban but just about any of the paninis looked solid. And for a gas station/haberdashery/fudge shop/melon stall/restroom stop/restaurant - I'd say we hit the jackpot.

However a 5 star review encouraged us to give it a try. I am beyond thrilled that we did! Everyone orders their food at the register in the small market. They do a tremendous amount of take out business. The phone was ringing off the hook for take out orders. We ordered a few items to see what all of the fuss is about. They have a lot of pictures on the wall of the sushi they serve. We decided on a volcano roll. It was made to order and it was delicious. We ordered 6 pork dumplings. They were light and crispy on the outside and the pork on the inside was very flavorful. As one of the entrees we chose Pancit. We learned later that it is there #1 item ordered. It is a nice portion of rice noodles, cabbage, carrots, green beans, in a very light sauce. You can choose Chicken or shrimp. We chose chicken. It is in small pieces and fits perfectly with the julienned veggies and the thin rice noodles. We also ordered the special of the day which was Marinated Beef. It came in a bowl with a dark beef broth and onions. There was a side office to go with it. The beef felt like it was melting in your mouth. Absolutely delicious! We poured some of the rice into the bowl to soak up some of the broth. You didn't want to miss a drop. Here we thought we had ordered a lot of food and would have leftovers but we cleaned every plate. It was that good. I wish I lived closer because I would eat here a lot. Yum!
