I purchased the Holland Sleigh Bed in December. I was expecting it in April but it was delivered this week (two months early!). I could not be happier. I keep looking at this bed and running my hands over it and cannot believe it's really mine. It's just so beautiful! Everything about dealing with this company went smoothly. The customer service and sales people were so helpful--we have an adjustable bed and I had a few phone calls back and forth making sure it would work in the frame. Great quality, amazing service. We purchased a walnut bedroom set online, including bed, two dressers, two nightstands, and two mirrors from Vermont Woods Studios a few years ago. Not only were we able to easily customize the size of one of the nightstands for a tight fit in the bedroom, the communication regarding the entire order was impeccable. These pieces were very nicely made and have held up well through a move to a new home and everyday use. Just recently our toddler smashed a metal kids shopping cart into the bottom drawer of our dresser and broke a knob off (he really rammed the cart into it). I contacted Vermont Woods via their online chat to see if I could buy a replacement knob and they very quickly knew who I was, what I owned from their studio, and offered to send me a replacement knob - no charge! The whole conversation took less than 5 minutes. I received the package today, they sent two replacement knobs (just in case!) and i could not be happier with the quality and service I have received from these guys. Highly recommend. read more

I purchased a set of bedroom furniture manufactured by Copeland through Vermont Woods Studios. Because of the total purchase amount, free white glove shipping was included. Crafting and shipping took 3 months, a reasonable time frame. There were numerous problems with the order as delivered. The mirror arrived with broken glass. The headboard and footboard of the bed were cracked. Several joining dowels in the bed were too long, preventing assembly. Several different pieces of incorrect hardware and parts were included for the bed. It took two additional months to resolve all the issues with the bed, and I had to fix some of the problems and assemble it myself. At this point we do not have the mirror. I have to cut Copeland some slack for the fact that this occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, what I found extremely frustrating was that it took several attempts to resolve simple issues ("please send us the hardware for the bed"). All in all, Copeland advertises its "luxury furniture buying experience," but I have to say I did not get it. ---------------- Updated 7/28/20 to reflect that we now have a functioning bed and rating increased to two stars. This review is for their customer service, which was great. I contacted them by email, thinking I was contacting the manufacturer of a bed frame I already owned with some questions I had about it. It took a few exchanges for us to figure out that I had the wrong party, but the VWS rep was unfailingly polite, cheerful, and helpful throughout the process. Wow, what a great company! I recently purchased a buffet cabinet with 6 drawers and 2 cabinet doors at a yard sale. It was a Vermont studios, and my husband who is a retired cabinet maker said it is very high quality. Great find except that about 5 of the knobs had been chewed up by a dog. I called Vermont studios and they replaced them all for free. I was amazed by their generosity and willingness to help especially since I didn't purchase directly from them. Needed two new dressers and had been so tired of the ones to assemble, or hand-me downs. Wanted something new and nice and found Vermont Wood Studios on the 'net. Got two dressers, one maple and one in cherry. For the moment, I'm using the maple dresser in the living room, quite enjoy seeing it there. Vermont Woods Studio folks are a delight to work with. They make it known up front, the furniture is made to order, so there's a bit of a wait. They keep you posted as to progress, it's like waiting for the puppy litter to be born. The dressers are beautiful looking, the drawers have a 'new car feel', the woods used have a lovely fragrance, as only real wood does. Vermont Wood Studios promises white glove delivery and setup, that's exactly what happened. The drivers called as they came to the area when they could say an exact time, and then again, when they were but a few miles away. They set up the furniture perfectly. If you worry about being out of area with this company, worry not. The delivery was as terrific as the company is. After the original dresser order, I found that Vermont Wood Studio carries a line of outdoor furniture too, I hadn't seen it, had been looking for dressers. Ordered a chaise lounge and just love it. It is a substantial deck chair, made to last. Setup was easy, the bright red cushion was an add on, but really sets it off, everyone loves it. Reading reviews for chaises from other stores, the complaints were of chipping paint, screw holes didn't match up, plus, they're often flimsy, small machine-screws that probably give out with the strain. Not so the poly-Wood outdoor furniture Vermont Wood Studios carries....you will buy this stuff once, and not every other year. With both of the dressers , and the chaise lounge for the deck, an investment in quality has been made. This is heirloom quality. read more

We were looking for a new natural cherry kitchen table and four captains chairs and found what we thought we'd get online at Vermont Woods Studios. We decided to take a drive up to their showroom last September. The ride from Boston was great and we found a wonderful restaurant along the way! We ended up getting a completely different set of chairs than what we thought we wanted. The team at Vermont Woods Studios was wonderful in securing a change to our order. We wanted to make sure that the arms of the chairs would fit under the table and they worked with the craftsmen and delivery team to ensure we got what we wanted. Speaking of the delivery team, they were fantastic. They were professional, on time, neat, and adjusted the table several times to make sure the chairs didn't scrape when under the table. We were able to coordinate the construction of the bed platform and delivery (from Vermont to California) with the removal of our old bed and delivery of our new bed with no problems. This was a complicated coordination and the folks at Vermont Woods did it perfectly. The platform is absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier that we found them and bought their product. I ordered the Contemporary Craftsmen bed in natural cherry and the wood and the craftsmanship are wonderful - the surfaces are so silky smooth you want to run your hands over them. I did have an issue with the slats being so close to the surface of the bed that they were visible around the mattress. Vermont Woods Studios hired a local furniture company to stain the slats so that they now blend in with the bed. I really appreciated the extra, personalized effort to make me happy with my purchase. read more

I am a very pleased customer. I own 2 pieces of furniture from Vermont Woods Studios. Both pieces were custom made -- combining my choices with what the craftsman recommended. I first discovered Vermont Woods Studios through a Google search 4 years ago. I was looking for "healthy" furniture for my baby's room. (By healthy I mean solid wood without toxic gases in the glues, paints or stains). From the time I contacted the company, it was smooth sailing. I described what I had in mind for a small wall unit (cabinet and book shelves). They sent me wood and stain samples. They sent photos of some suggestions. And with the help of customer service, we designed a beautiful piece of furniture. Four years later, my son needed a twin bed. Again, I contacted Vermont Woods Studio. Taking ideas from their online samples and the design of my existing wall unit, they built me a gorgeous twin bed -- equally as "healthy" and equally as beautiful. They work with a terrific delivery company. Delivery to NY City is never very easy. Both times (4 years ago and last week) the guys from the delivery company assembled the furniture with smiles and patience (they let my excited son be part of the action). I can't say enough good stuff about the company. I highly recommend them. read more

My husband and I really needed a bedroom set that would be sturdy, but low-to-zero VOC. I see now that the website has a disclaimer if you have MCS (which I do) but I spoke to someone at the store and they didn't bring this up for the style I chose. I'm frustrated because we paid a HUGE sum of money and had to wait 3 months for the unit to be ready and delivered, and I still can't go into our bedroom because the lacquer smell is so harsh! I'm very disappointed that the set doesn't seem natural at all and that despite airing out the bedroom 12 hours daily, in winter, with multiple fans, I still can't sleep in my bedroom. The smell is improving though, it's day 7. I had hoped to avoid this process by paying more to a quality company, but I wish I had selected less expensive, parallel quality furniture if I was going to have to off-gas the set anyway. Just wanted to share this for anyone looking for chemical free/low chemical furniture. Overall the set is really beautiful and I hope we can use it soon. Thanks. read more

They made a beautiful mission style bed frame for us (solid cherry). Absolutely no problem customizing certain things for us. The price was probably about a quarter of what I'd expect to pay in a retail store for the quality of furniture we received (extremely high quality craftsmanship, beautiful to look at, superior materials, etc.). My big concern was paying the full price up front and not receiving delivery of the bed frame until a couple months later. I worried that I'd pay and then not receive anything. This definitely did not happen. They delivered the bed frame exactly when they estimated they would. I highly recommend you go with this company. We'll certainly order from them in the future. read more
