The spa is very "mountain-esque" it feels like a ski chalet. My only disappointment was that there is no option to change out of your street clothes. I sat waiting in the lounge in my jeans and it just didn't feel relaxing. I also asked if there was a steam room and was told no, but then saw one? That must be for special treatments I guess. The lounge is cozy with magazines, tea and water but I think this could be upped by offering some cookies to snack on and add robes to the mix! Side note: if you have trouble with stairs you may want to avoid this place. Negatives aside... I had the greatest massage from a therapist named Ellen. If you book a massage here I highly recommend her. She is attentive and gives one of the best massages I have ever had. Every time I go to Canmore I will make a point of booking with her. So great! Overall an excellent experience and I will be back.

Little treatments (no extractions, no red light, no exfoliation, and no dermaplane)...you are literally just paying for someone to massage your face and upper body the entire time. I had such little treatment done that I still had leftover spray tan on my face after it was done, and management didn't feel obliged to offer a discount after a poor experience. I will keep this review updated as I get information (and as the manager responds to my review), but my friend and I would never recommend this place. So surprising for the amount of money!

I do imagine the rooms is strange when you aren't in a couple's massage as there is just a curtain between you and someone else unless i'm missing something else about the room to add privacy. When I first walked in I was welcomed by the owner and was told Zach would be my stylist. Zach is still an apprentice so I was surprised to pay the full rate of $28.50 (plus tip). Regardless, Zach did a great job and my cut looks great. He even rinsed my hair afterward. Overall I am pleased by the cut. I was hoping for more service as a competing Aveda salon includes a scalp massage and tea prior to a cut and they charge pretty much the same price for a men's cut. In addition the salon is not listed on any social media so this will be their first review. Salon F/X is a great place for a local trim and if needed I may visit again.
