This Authorized Verizon Wireless store is staffed with a professional, personable and honest team I've ever encountered at a Verizon Store. They were extremely knowledgeable on the devices and actually sold me on the idea of an upgrade. They made some comments about the foldable screen phones and suggested waiting a year of two for the devices to be perfect. And sure enough, a day later the news reported Apple/Samsung are having problems with the screen crease and will probably delay a year or so! Based on their input, I'm holding a new iPhone Air today! Most negative treatment I've ever received from a store of any kind. Within 5 minutes, the sales person berated me for buying my phone at Walmart. There was more criticism about my choosing this phone. More than I care to remember. All I wanted was a sim card. I left saying I felt uncomfortable. What is the deal here? DO NOT SHOP HERE. The customer service agents are scam artists! They add lines and other extras to your bill to add to their commission. Check your receipts and bills! This was the best experience ever!!! Sandwinder took such good care of us when trading in our phones, he explained and checked the best rate for our monthly bill. He transferred all our data over spent two hours with us. I cannot say enough, good things about this store and the people that work there were helping other people just as much. 5 Stars just doesn't seem to say enough. My Visit to the Oakland NJ Verizon store was the best experience I have ever had at a cellular store. Harry was very patient and helpful in changing over four Iphones. I would recommend them to anyone who asked me where to get a new Cell phone. read more

This place is horrible! Do not give them your business. They are trying to SCAM me into paying for a phone twice. I wanted to pay for my new iPhone in full (because that's what I always do) and I usually do it through Apple themselves because it's a relatively simple process through them. I decided to go to this verizon store because they're a local business and they were running a deal that was slightly better than Apple at the time. So I ask to trade in my old phone (worth $700 on the trade in) and buy a new iPhone. They tell me "oh no problem, we got you. Here's your new phone, we'll take the old one send it in for you and you will pay the difference today". Came out to about $400 that I paid on the spot. Come to find out months later when I go to upgrade the next new iPhone, I can't because my phone is not eligible for upgrade since its not fully paid off. I thought that was weird, since I supposedly traded in my old phone and paid the difference, so everything was covered? WRONG. Turns out, my poor mother has been paying off this phone monthly, on top of the $400 I already paid to the store. Even better, the $400 I paid didn't even go towards the phone. Not sure where it went (but if I had to guess, straight into their scummy pockets). I have been going back and forth with Verizon for months (!!) now. I've been back to the store multiple times and have been treated worse and worse each time. One of the people working there (who I think is the owner) yelled at me and told me I have no idea what I'm talking about when I called him out on his bullshit. Bottom line... don't waste your time here. They're not looking to help customers, they just want to take advantage of people who they think they can make a quick buck off of! read more

I asked the manager to trade in my phone for a new one, and he was attempting to cheat me, telling me I could sell my iPhone on Amazon and even took my phone from me and disconnected it before I could even decide if I wanted to purchase a phone from here. Lies, lies, lies. It gets worse. He told my mother that she was a BABY for wanting to purchase an iPhone in pink, and began to 1) make fun of us, 2) refuse to give our phone back, and 3) steadily raise his voice. I am going to file a complaint through Verizon because of what happened when I went in today. This establishment should be closed. read more

I've gone here the past few years for phones. Today I brought my 10 yr old son there to get his first phone for his birthday. The process was quick and easy and Harry was so nice. He even took a video of my son getting his birthday present (iPhone 8p), thanking me and making the experience so memorable. He even threw in a free protective case as a birthday gift to my son. Throughout the over the past 14 years, and there customer service has progressively become disgraceful! I asked if I could have assistance with my email. This was the only phone I purchased with my daughter at a different Verizon store. I only asked, and made note that I would understand if they didn't want to help me. They fixed my email, but deleted the majority of my contacts, and phone calls previously made. I assumed it was an oversight on their part. Two days later, I stopped at their Franklin Lakes store. The young man was direct with his questions, and basically directed me back to the Oakland Store. He wanted to know where I purchased the phone, and made it clear to return to the Oakland Store. I said thank you and walked out of the store, and my husband was with me. When I arrived at the Oakland Store, I was verbally attacked by the owner, the Franklin store worker, called, and he described me "as the lady" was cursing and yelling at him because he would not fix my phone. His irate behavior continued, which actually made me very emotional, because of his condescending loud tone! Obviously I was upset from the attack and yelling, that I left in shock! Unfortunately, whatever color or gender I am, it has no bearing on the disrespect condescending and berated behavior by the owner of a store. Please take my advice and go to the Paramus or Pompton Lakes store for a welcoming, respectful, and pleasant reception! I have gone to Phone For You in Oakland NJ several times now with some else who needed a phone or had an issue. Best is word of mouth, well I got hands on. They know what they are talking about. They are very polite, acknowledge you when you walk in the door, give you the best deals on your plans, try to save you money, explain all about your phone. Very knowledgeable. Before college I worked at a cell phone store for 7 yrs I know about phones and services and I keep up with the contracts available because the way things are these days everyone's trying to be competitive. Whenever I go in with my dad, they are all easy to work with and nice, but if you go with any female, say, my mom, they treat her with disrespect all the time. They'll be really cold and even condescending, with their 'holier than thou' attitude. It's really a night and day difference. The employee always tell me that I shouldn't get married until I'm 36 and then asks really personal questions. Is this a cell phone business or a matchmakers? I Agree with the other reviewer. Horrible customer service, people like that should not be in business. I went in with a simple issue with my ipad and they refused to help me because I was not going to spend any money in the store. I ended up calling Verizon directly and they were easily able to help me with my sim card issue. I personally feel they should not have a Verizon logo on the store from if they are not going to help Verizon customers. Wish I could take away a star. read more

I did not know this is not a direct store and that there was a difference. They can add fees and set their own prices for things. WHO WOULD KNOW THIS??? I paid for my accessories and thought I understood the terms and credit for renewing my contract for my new phones. Did not realize that there were new contracts needed for my changes when my phones were out of contract, and I did not receive a printout of the actual costs at the time of purchase. I don't remember signing paperwork which outlined the full cost over the term of the 2 year contract and was surprised when I got my first bill from Verizon. When I called Verizon, they can not really do anything about it. Past 14 days, independent store blah blah. BEWARE. Expensive lesson for me. read more
