Have been in 3 times to this store. Every single time my family gets a new plan or phone, it has always a nightmare the past 5 years. They have on separate occasions 1) added extra charges 2) signed me up for the incorrect plan 3) neglected my trade in. I have spent hours with each of these trying to correct the mess. It happened again and cannot get out of the contract that they did not tell me was 36 months, said was 24 months. Totally inappropriate. read more

I recommend Verizon but if you need assistance, do not go to the store at 99th & University in Clive. Horrendous customer service is an understatement. And the men who work there, with the exception of Ryan, are very disrespectful to women. They weren't willing to help me with returning a phone that I had only had for 24 hrs. When I called the Customer Loyalty Dept. & talked to Felicia, she went above and beyond to help me return the phone and give me the credit for it. I went in here for some off the wall requests. I need a flip phone for my 100 year old grandma. Colton did a great job making suggestions on phones and how to use it. He explained what we needed to do to get it set up. Including how to use her land line number for a new cell phone. He gave me plenty of great information that I can take back to my dad so he can make an informed decision. read more

Verizon in Clive, Iowa is beyond horrible and the manager is worse. "Vince" screwed everything up on my account possible a week ago and 9 hours of my time later I'm semi functioning. Go ANYWHERE else in the Dsm metro or better yet, leave Verizon. read more

The service is always subpar. They are generally not accommodating and do not have staff that can help you. It is generally a frustrating experience. I only continue to use them as a carrier because I travel all over the state and need the coverage. That is the saving grace for Verizon because they are so much more expensive than the other carriers and service is so terrible. read more

I came to Verizon in the middle of the afternoon on a Monday with my fingers tightly crossed in hopes that there wouldn't be a long wait. I was in luck. An associate greeted me as soon as I entered, asked what I needed, and we headed directly to get me a new phone. He reviewed features from my old phone (via his system) and confirmed if I wanted the same on the new phone. He also reviewed our plan and identified a new plan that would provide more data but not cost anything more. He did share some accessory options with me which I knew were their upsell opportunities, but there was no pressure for me to buy and I was comfortable turning down features or products. He had the phone set up very quickly and started the transfer process rather than leaving that for me to do. I was in and out very quickly and very pleased with the help that i received. read more

This place is very hot and cold. The last time I went the man was very helpful. This time I was trying to return something with packaging and all. No damage or anything and Jordan, the store manager said I was out of luck. Not good customer service when I've been a Verizon customer for years! Very disappointing. read more

I went here today to get more information on getting on my own plan. The woman I talked to was very helpful and accommodating. But the man in the store was very rude. He interrupted the conversation I was having to ask the woman if she needed help. Then when she said no, he announced that she was the newbie and so he had to check up on her. She once again assured him that she did not need any help. But instead of leaving us he hovered around. I could not imagine having to work in that environment. read more

There is something seriously wrong with the people hired at this location. I haven't had such terrible sales tactics used at any other Verizon location except for this one. I've dealt with Merle Hay location and two years ago Waukee, both great experiences. The two times I've been to the Clive location I've dealt with sales people who are not helpful and trying to upsell every chance they get. I've been a Verizon customer since they were making cell phones and my experience here ticked me off enough to consider heading to another company. Let me also state that I know my stuff when it comes to phones and plans. I was looking at a new phone and plan with some questions I wanted answered in person. I also planned on purchasing a new phone and plan on that afternoon, however I was not having it after this experience... Nicole was the person who "helped" me. She started off ok telling me about my plan and phone, all of which I already knew and told her I knew. I was basically in there to check out a new plan and a cell phone. All of the sudden another salesman turned up some speaker across the room and she started trying to pitch me speakers for my phone! I said no thanks, I don't need any. Kept asking, well do you listen to music....I said I'm good lets get back to the phone. Really??? Did that just happen?? Next we talked about the phone with the qwerty keyboard, I couldn't remember the phone name but she tried to tell me it was a different one than it was. Then she tried to tell me I was thinking of their new Edge plan. I said, um no, it's a phone name. People were kind of over in that area but I should have taken her over there and pointed it out...hey know it all...see I know what I saw. Don't try to tell me I"m thinking of a payment plan. So then...oh this is great....while looking at my plan earlier she said oh you barely use your 4G. Yes, I said I want to go down to 2G since I barely use data. My mother, who is on my plan, won't use any. Later she tries to tell me that I need 4G out of nowhere. I just flat out said, no I won't use that much. Nicole, you are a HORRIBLE listener and know it all. After I asked if I order online ( I thought there's no way I'm buying anything from this person) can I come in and set the phone up in the store with help if I need it? I wanted to see if there was a charge for that, who knows these days since they charge $30 to upgrade hahaha! So Nicole tells me oh yes feel free to come in and we can help set you up AND THEN YOU CAN BUY SOME ACCESSORIES FROM ME. Oh lord girl! Before I left she gave me her card which I promptly looked at for this review, tore up and then trashed. She caught me looking at accessories and asked me quick, oh do you need any accessories? She looked bothered when I left with nothing purchased. She should be glad I didn't tear up her card in front of her. FYI VERIZON AND NICOLE PEOPLE DON'T RESPOND TO THESE HORRIBLE SALES TACTICS!!!! LEARN TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE AND DON'T UPSELL!!! I would have bought my new droid mini and the enact for my mom with a new plan had I not been teated with such disrespect. Verizon customer service offered an Apple I phone 7 for $0 per month if I returned an Apple I phone 5C. The offer was made in writing during a chat session. The chat reference number is 726865678029599512 and occurred on January 15, 2017 at 11:09 AM. I related to the chat attendees (Jennifer, Jamie, Mike and Nakia) that I had three I phones to upgrade. The offer from Verizon included a waiver of the upgrade charge on 2 phones, the I phone 7 discount and a plan upgrade described as Verizon 8GB to reduce my monthly bill by approximately $21. I went to the local Verizon store and they would not honor the I phone 7 offer saying it was an internet only offer. I called Verizon's telesales desk and was told it was an internet only offer. I went on line, and when I could not get the offer that was promised, was told that it was a mistake. read more

Would give them zero stars if that was a choice......They are open until 7pm....I broke my phone....I drove 30 miles......they would not help me because it was 6 minutes before 7pm.....so CLEARLY they are not open until 7pm.. I just needed a new flip phone, an easy transaction........I have been a Verizon customer for 15+ years......With that said, I called the published number for the store this morning and got routed to Verizon Customer service somewhere far off that could not tell me a local phone number for the store nor the store managers name so I can send him or her a letter but would gladly set me up an appointment...I was already there when they were open and no one would help me.....why would I want to go back? ...I was able to replace the phone through a different carrier last night and I will be cancelling the Verizon phone plan today. If it is that difficult to get a managers name, a local phone number or service during posted open business hours........why would I want to continue the relationship? I am out !! read more

I was greeted at the door and asked if I needed help. When I said what I needed help with, I was answered with sarcasm and a sharp tone. The sales associate talked down to me as if I was incapable of understanding monosyllabic words. Terrible service and rudeness , wouldn't even act like they cared that I was stressed about an issue with my bill and dismissed my feelings on the subject , here is a clue Verizon , maybe you should WARN people if their bill is going to go up unexpectedly and here is a clue workers at this location , show some compassion and understanding and at least attempt to FIX a problem instead of making it worse . Me and the wife went in to find out how much it would cost to get out of our contract, The salesman was Very helpful, Courteous and attentive. He saw that my wife work for a local restaurant chain and asked if she was receiving her discount. He took the time to look it up found the information and told my wife she needed to bring her paycheck in to verify the company name, Gave her a card with the info she needed when she returned. We returned yesterday to attitude and disappointment. The guy who helped us was condescending and rude, He informed us she was not eligible for the discount and they could do nothing about it. Of course after 45 mins of showing a new hire on the fine art of wasting our time. We are leaving Version and moving back to the stone age to a landline. Find another carrier that doesn't cave to the NSA so easy or buy 2 cups and a string but skip this company. read more

This review is for only Verizon Tech Support. I don't know if they know what they are doing there! Let me start off saying that I've been a customer for many years. And that I've have had 3 different phones over that time. I've also have had the same issues over that same time period. My folks are elderly and live around 45 miles from me. I try calling them twice a day to check in on them. The only phone they have is just a landline. When I call them it's a hit or miss if the call even goes through. If it does at some point (not every time) my mother will say that she can no longer hear me, although I can still hear her or the line would just disconnect us. I've even had this happen twice with 2 different people, while I was on the phone with Tech Support. It does not happen to anyone else that calls them, or to anyone else that I call. Even though the town they live in had come out and checked all the phone lines. Then a couple of years ago the town had all-new fiber optics installed. I also sometimes have problems when I group text. It seems that sometimes whenever I try to send a group text. I get a message that says (The network is down and the message will be sent as soon as it's back up.). But it seems to take 24hrs or more to be sent. Which is odd since I've sent many other text messages in the meantime. I'm about ready to switch carriers if I could find one that would offer me the same or a better deal on my phone plan... read more

I have had trouble with my phone so needed help and not being as tech savvy, I relied on Allison to explain the steps! She was very patient and explained in detail what needed to be done! We have been Verizon users for about 15 years and have been to this location in the past to purchase/upgrade our phones. We have iPhones. This time I went in to the store as my iPhone suddenly started having lines across the screen and locking up. I was greeted promptly and a girl offered to help by looking at my phone and looking up our plan. So my phone was still under warranty so I shouldn't be charged however she told me they don't have technicians at their stores anymore. So she would take a look but was not a technician. She took my case off and said there was sticky stuff on the back of my phone so it must have been In water or juice. I let her know it had never been in either and the stickiness was from the original sticker that was on my phone. She told me that I could get a new phone since it was under warranty but she "suddenly"didn't have any at the store and she said because of the "condition" of m phone I would get charged. That ticked me off as my phone was in perfect condition and is always in the case. She said I would have to go to the Apple Store. She was very rude and basically made it known that if I wasn't there to buy something or pay for a fix then they would not help me. Horrible service! As a side note, I ended up going to the Apple Store for the first time and it was the BEST experience! So nice and polite and helped fix my phone! read more
