Recently my Dad was having phone trouble, mostly the 'I'm too old to understand this' type. I am…read morenow at that age where, even though I am younger, I don't have all the answers for technology anymore. I know enough to get by on my own, but not enough to have patience to help my Dad at this point. Honestly, his phone was very outdated in technology standards. He had had it for years and was content with it. But when you would attempt to call him or receive a call from him he couldn't hear the conversation. It was time to update, after much perseveration on his part a trip to a store was finally in order. This location was the closest to his house and he had already stopped by earlier to talk to them about updating the phone. He wanted me there as a fact checker, that's the best way I can put this. Even after confirming what he was already told he wanted me there to verify. When we showed up the same employee was there that helped him earlier. After some prompting the employee knew why we were there. He went over again what he had already told my Dad and I had to tell my Dad that he was not attempting to pull one over on him. It was quite the funny interaction. After they started transferring the data between phones the employees in the store were talking and joking with us. They were super pleasant and not at all busy. Hard to be busy just a few days before the holidays. There was one thing that I didn't like about the whole transaction. He kind of lied a bit. Whenever you purchase a phone, or upgrade as it is, and you purchase some accessories you get a deal. I know this because I just did it. They told my Dad prior to showing up that if you got the upgrade they would throw in a wall charger for free. My Dad, not knowing any better, thought this was a deal. Whenever you buy a case and screen protector you get a third accessory of equal or lesser value for free. By the employee throwing in the wall charger for free, was a bit of a lie. If it was me in the situation, I would have tested him and just walked out with the wall charger. But it wasn't me. In the end, my Dad got his upgrade, and at a decent deal for it. The employees, even if they were a bit deceitful, were helpful.
