Once I was put in touch with High Performance Tutoring, I had an appointment with Victor that same week. Victor has been amazing. He helps walk through my homework with me in a way that makes sense. I would be completely lost without him, and would definitely be failing if it weren't for him. I have high hopes that I will pass the class, whereas I probably would have dropped it if I hadn't found Victor. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it because the tutoring has saved me and continues to help me every week.

I strongly encourage you to contact High Performance Tutoring for any academic support you might need.

PROS: Staff were super nice and efficient Checking in was quick and easy and they weren't irritated that I took a break every hour Only 20 computers in the room so it was pretty quiet (there were about 10 people taking an exam meaning there wasn't a lot of noise and movement) Temperature was perfect (I was wearing a sweatshirt) The restrooms are super close to the testing room (takes about 10 seconds to walk) You can eat outside the testing rooms as there are numerous chairs outside, a table and chair near the elevator and in the middle of the hallway CONS: No free parking (I was dropped off though so this didn't bother me) Perfect place to test! It is on the 3rd floor in a small room in one of the buildings at the U of U. And you'd be surprised that with so many first time test takers they don't have clear signs on where it is. My proctors were nice and were students. They allowed me to have water on a file cabinet that I could go have without going through the whole sign-out process. I was very anxious this day so this meant a lot and I believe the Taylorsville location allows you to do the same as well when I had called. Also be aware of traffic! I specifically selected this location because they are open Saturdays and Sundays and there usually isn't traffic on those days, the campus was relatively dead too on those days--which is a good thing. I'd say the room looked a little shabby, small, and most of the seats were filled with students--but luckily the keyboard noise didn't bother me and they did allow me to bring a pair of my own ear plugs placed in tissue paper. Overall, I passed (thank the Dental gods) and I do plan to take my future tests here.

Very disappointed with The Tutoring House. I'm new to the path of needing tutoring. Finally…read moresurpassed certain hurdles and branching out to find a 1 on 1 tutor for my child. A document provided to me included The Tutoring House on a list of tutors (supplier of document notated they don't endorsed any tutor on the list and rightfully so) but I reached out to them and others. I would not recommend The Tutoring House at all, not even in worst case scenarios. As stated previously, I am still early on in my journey and sharing my experience to hopefully help someone else in a similar situation. Multiple years of reading difficulties with promises after promises. School systems seem to struggle with the volume and hard to keep up with demands. Reading clinic wait lists, official tests to provide an official diagnosis have an 18 plus month wait list and many don't take insurance and are over $3k. Everything is expensive and I'm not a wealthy individual. Reading is important and cannot keep on this same slow and lacking path. In my attempts to navigate the waters and continue to advocate for my child, decision was made to get a private tutor as we wait. The Tutoring House does NOT have a good business model and is NOT invested in the students. Before I dive too deep, I did disclose to them my child is female and they still called her a male. Fail one on The Tutoring House. Tip, listen and take notes people... Now diving deep, I do believe the relationship between student and teacher/tutor should be strong for a fruitful learning experience. Time lines are different for all but in speaking with other parents with similar stories to mine, this relationship could span a decade. I was able to get a mutual time scheduled with a tutor. I had questions upfront, who doesn't? I received some answers to my questions but not to all, and of the answered ones they were incredibly vague at best. Fail two on The Tutoring House. Continued along anyway, and asked if the initial visit was free or discounted as they (child/teacher) have to meet first. True colors showed as they canceled my appointment shortly after the question raised, and canceled via a text. I won't put verbatim the response but they threw a reasons that they pay their teachers and wouldn't discount their (the teachers) pay and are canceling me/my child. Fail three The Tutoring House. What business model doesn't have some overhead expenses and confidence in their methods and staff to cut a deal on the first visit? For $65/hour with a two times a week commitment I would expect more professionalism. People have questions, parents have concerns, not everyone meshes with everyone. This is an investment financially but also an investment in time. And, again, not a wealthy individual. I would hope to the Lord almighty they pay their teachers their agreed upon salaries. Heavens. But I would expect that they work with parents and students better. 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, even 25% off the first visit should not impact their bottom line. Now, I do not know what the staff gets paid but I'm fairly confident it's not $65/hour. They seek money over all, money over empowering children to excel and I'm incredibly disappointed. Cost breakdown for my one child 》》》 $563/month for a year - at least, is what I was expecting to pay, is over $6,700 a year for one teacher for one hour. Many children exist and don't know the percentage that need tutoring but imagine it's significant. Now... back to one child, one teacher, for one hour for two times a week. That child advances each year and schoolwork becomes more challenging, that tutor/child relationship could grow well beyond a year and consider inflation on top of that. What a stupid business model to dismiss me upfront for asking for a discount on the first, initial, get-to-know you/intro session. Flipping views... respond to the inquiry with a "No, unfortunately we do not offer free or discounted visits but are ... blah blah, blah" I selfishly deleted a kind and professional response within this review as I do not want to give them any great blurb to use for themselves because they don't deserve it. Mind blown and cannot comprehend this experience. Three strikes you're out, The Tutoring House!

Veritas Prep On Demand (online self-paced) Review: I only…read morehad about 2 months before taking the GMAT for the first time and was looking for a quality course with the flexibility to study on my own schedule. I put in about 3 hours a day for 2 months, taking a break for Thanksgiving and the week leading up to my test. Before the course I took an official GMAC practice test and two days later took a Veritas practice test that ended up 60 points lower. During the course, I slowly improved and my 3rd and last practice test with Veritas matched my original GMAC practice test. Most students score within about 30 points of their highest score, and I felt that would be the case as I was taking the test. To my surprise, I actually improved another 60 points over my prior best score (+120 from my first Veritas practice test), landing me comfortably in the middle of Top 10 school scores. While I haven't taken another course to compare it to, including their classroom option, Veritas Prep On Demand was everything I was hoping for. In fact, I passed up another classroom course a friend was taking that was half the price because of what Veritas offers. It was flexible: I could take it at 5 a.m. or midnight, for 10 minutes or 6 hours. It was digital: I felt like it was as close to the actual test experience as possible. It was highly rated on Beat the GMAT and GMAT Club forums. I also loved the year of access just in case the score hadn't turned out as I hope. But it did! I hesitated at first because of the price being higher than almost any other program I looked at, but being on the other side now, it was worth it for me!

Internexus is not a hard school as far as language institutes are concerned, and they don't seem to be too strict on their attendance policy (I know students who passed with only showing up the first couple days a session, and missing class til the final). Students who buckle down and take school seriously will be successful here, but if you don't take classes seriously, you will not be successful at Internexus, because they don't really hold students accountable. I will say this though-they are very helpful for students seeking help. My boyfriend was in a situation a while back where he was finishing his English language courses at the U, and when he told them he was going to transfer to SLCC to start his academic courses, ELI at the U cancelled his i-20, and it was in the middle of the semester. He panicked, and we found ourselves going to Internexus because we knew they had monthly sessions, and were hopeful we could get him in for the next month. In less than 48 hours, they had accepted him, got his info from the U and SLCC, and processed a new i-20 so that he could buy time and not go home for the remainder of the semester. Sabrina, who works at the front desk, is extremely helpful and patient with the students, and does all she can to make their time at Internexus a pleasant experience.
