Unfortunately, our experience at Huntington was not a good one. After 20 hours of tutoring and…read more$1600 my son received exactly the same score on the ACT that he had recieved at the initial Huntington assessment. I met with the owner of the center and he told me that in order to see results I needed to commit to another $2000 in tutoring. He seemed to be only concerned about keeping the money coming rather than the success of my son. This is the first internet review I have ever written. I feel obligated to let others know that the significant amount of money they might consider spending at Huntington will be wasted.

My son had a 23 on the ACT. To receive the academic portion of the scholarship he had to get a 24. Huntington said that this would not be a problem. They did every thing but guarantee that they could get his score up a point if not four to six points. We paid the money and our son put in the work. The incentive was huge. The academic portion of the scholarship was close to 40k over four years. The big day came and his score was a disappointing 23. Huntington reached the day the scores were released to ask how he did. When we responded with the disappointing news, there was no response. We have not heard from them since. They got there money and ran. I would not recommend the center. The people were nice, helpful, but their learning is super expensive and not worth it. Don't fall for the sales pitch.

I sent my son a couple years back in 2017. We have high expectations for him, and wanted to bump…read morehim up from a B-B+ to an A in mathematics. Mathnasium did not help with that. All of the worksheets he was given were way too easy for him, and never actually got to his class level until half way through the school year. We found that it was literally a waste of one hour a day and $300 per month. We decided to give Mathnasium another chance by going after them on what my son was doing in class. However, if we are going to pay $300 a month(Which by the way is half of monthly college tuition), then we should not have to be after the instructors to make my son another chance. We had had enough, and after quitting, my son got his first A in mathematics, and actually seems to enjoy math now, which I find quite unusual. The program promises to make your children enjoy math, but my son was always agitated whenever we told him it was time to go to Mathnasium. All of the good reviews I am seeing are literally failing students going up from a F to a C+ or B average. So moral of the story is, if your child is so bad at math that he or she is literally failing it, then send them here. If not, then don't waste your money here.

It kills confidence in math students and is difficult to teach. The high school version, Open Up…read moreResources, is not compatible with high school students' attendance schedules. If a student is at a debate meet or baseball game and misses the in-class "task", they have no resources to capture the concept. The student portal shows only problems, no instruction or examples, or answers to some of the problems. The parent portal shows a sentence or two stating the lesson objective. The students' only recourse is to get the teacher to present the 45 minute task to them personally or, (much better) have it taught in a straight forward manner in 10 minutes. The curriculum fails to give students adequate practice and review. As a result, students don't retain the concepts. MVP is worse than useless- It is damaging to students' math education.
