    The home is beautifully designed and the neighborhood is great. However, potential buyers should be aware that these homes go up very quickly and Viridian's warranties aren't all that impressive, especially on some of the biggest and most dangerous issues that can occur with poor workmanship after that first or two (see below). We had an electrical fire in our kitchen due to poor wiring as confirmed by an electrician. Thankfully, the fire did not spread very far, but families should be aware of this. Using cheaper paint and supplies to get homes up quickly and keep the price down isn't so dangerous, but poor electrical work is more serious and dangerous -- and harder to notice during a routine home inspection. There may be other homes that have already had their warranties expire that might be facing similar dangers inside their home right now, since it isn't always immediately obvious when an electrical fire is a risk until the breaker is tripping or you remove the faceplate to inspect it.     Prior to our lawn being installed we met with the Bruce company and our builder. Veridian has temporary storm water drainage walls in the undeveloped area of our neighborhood. Since we have moved in they have failed to prevent the storm water from running down the entire neighborhood into the new phase of 4 homes. We informed both companies of this prior to them finishing our lawn. We suggested they put up a temporary rock wall like they do everywhere else to prevent the storm water flow. Once they develop the row of houses behind us this problem will be taken care of. But since a road isn't in place with drainage several acres of storm water is flowing through my yard. We will never be able to keep our lawn in tact. It all washed out. I told them this would happen as every rainfall since March this has occurred and they ignored me. This should not be a new home owners responsibility to manage a developers water flow problems.

    After 1 year of complaints about drainage, I was told the yard drains as it was designed. Beware of buying Veridian home in 1000 Oaks.

    ATTN ALL potential renters: DSI Real Estate has attempted to scam myself and 2 other people into…read morepaying "unpaid rent" over years after being moved out. Jen Brewer, the property manager, told me that she attempted to send 2 letters through the course of 3 years...She sent them to the last known address--coincidentally it was the address that we once lived at in the apartment. We never received either of the 2 letters. Jen stated that it's "not her job to make sure mail gets delivered to the new address." Then out of nowhere, 3 YEARS laters I get a collection notice. I went to speak to Jen at the DSI Real Estate office to see what the issue was and why is it coming up now. I honestly thought it was a simple mistake made by somebody in the DSI Real Estate office. Needless to say she was very rude and of no help. I also found out the same thing has occurred with 2 other friends that have lived there. I attempted to contact the Director of Operation, Brad, at DSI, but I haven't heard back. I was also able to verify the contact phone numbers DSI had on file---they are all the same contact numbers and I have never received 1 phone call. Jen once again stated "that's not part of my job to call tennants." I have spoken to my lawyer and he's confident DSI will not be getting additional money from me. I found the apartments nice and well kept, but after dealing with this situation and Jen's unprofessional attitude...I highly recommend all potential renters to find a different place to live or once you move out...good luck! Unfortunately, I will have to pay my lawyer. But at least the money is going to a good cause rather than an unethical business team.

    I lived in the Post Apartments. I lived there over 2 years and really enjoyed it for the proximity…read moreto downtown and the bike path. The interior was very well done and the building maintained well. But sadly, the complex was marketed as "non-smoking" which was a big reason why I signed the lease. However I quickly learned after moving in that it was far from it with tenants smoking marijuana in their units and the smell permeating into the hallway and in some cases into my unit. When management was alerted there was little action besides one email to all the tenants which did nothing to stop it. One sign on the bulletin board which lasted less than a month. I think they could have and should have done more which is why I ultimately decided to leave the apartment before the end of my lease term. My health was suffering from the constant stench. Otherwise, it's a great property and if you don't have an aversion to smokers, I recommend it.

    Avante Properties plays hard ball with their best tenants. Here's what happened to us…read more.. We have an apartment at the Arlo in Fitchburg and have been excellent tenants since June 2024 when the building opened. Avante recently notified us that the lease for our second stall in the parking garage has been terminated and we have six days to vacate it. There was no explanation or apology. #1: In the luxury rental business, it's not a good idea to treat good renters poorly, especially your top tenants. Poor reviews and word of mouth will expose you in a big way. #2: Avante has been allowing tenants to move into the garage as late as November-January, just in time for bad winter weather. We've been paying for the second stall since last June so we would have it for the winter months. When we asked Avante for a credit for the past seven months, they referenced legalese from the parking rental agreement, and threatened to tow our car if the stall was not vacated by the deadline. Avante's communication has been disappointing and shocking. #3: During the fall, Avante raffled off 2 free parking stalls to Arlo residents who wrote Google reviews. So they are willing to give away free stalls, but then kick out their paying customers? Huh? Complaining about a valid issue and requesting reimbursement for what we consider fraudulent behavior on their part has ultimately resulted in them threatening not to renew our 12-month apartment lease this spring. Wow is all I can say. A property manager can make or break your apartment rental experience. If I had to do it all over again, I would not rent from Avante Properties. I would look elsewhere.
