When it was coming up on my massage week this month, I realized that my previous appointment made elsewhere would conincide with my vacation so I obviously prefer to get in sooner. And on Monday, preferably. I get a lot of massages. It's my pain relief and my stress relief especially as my primary job is physically taxing. I love it though, almost as much as I enjoy keeping my massages regular. This is why... I was pleasantly delighted how Venus can fit me in today on a Monday and honor my request of having Jose. His massages coupled with his professionalism and competency are incredibly relaxing. So intensely relaxing... that...ha ha! I left without the water bottle I came in with and had to go back! Jose helped the absolute brutal pinched nerve that I walked in with, coupled with his competency and professionalism. The rest of the facility is very nice too, professional and like a day spa experience. The coffee and herbal tea bar is also a nice touch. I've had a pedicure before here and it was lovely as well. They have plenty of pedi chairs for a girls day out, or you can elect for a private room. Thanks all! read more

I've been to Venus Day spa a few times now and had great experiences each time. The staff have been friendly and professional and done a great job with the services. Pro-tip: Look for any specials they have. On 2 occasions we were able to get package deals for multiple services to save some money (and try some new services). I've had a mani/pedi - the regular manicure didn't last long, but that may have just been the polish I chose - next time I'll for sure ask for recommendations on long lasting polish. I had my niece along for an after spa day. We were greeted immediately and then seated to wait the start of our services. My niece had a scalp treatment, hair cut/style, mani-pedi and makeup. She was so happy with her hair and makeup person, I was even more happy she kept the makeup natural, something we can copy daily. I started with a dry brush, shower then massage. Followed by hair and mani pedi. All our services were lovely after being canceled the last couple of times because of staff issues I was pleasantly surprised that everything went smoothly. Looking forward to our next visit to PA. Not to owner: I did note that some of the doors are looking a bit worn/dirty in the massage area. Could use some sprucing up. read more

clients beware I received a gift certificate as a retirement present and it was accidentally thrown away, when I called and explained the situation I was told I could not book an appointment because the gift certificate was purchased with a credit card gift card. The girl was able to look it up see the amount, when it was purchased but said I could not use it. I asked to talk to the manager and was told the same thing. My co workers purchased this for me as a gift and I feel terrible. $100 is in their pocket for nothing. I reported this to the Attorney General's office and was encouraged to file a complaint which I did. Terrible business practice. People work so hard for their money and to have this happen is absolutely awful. The best thing that could come out of this is that they are forced to change their policy so this does not happen to anyone else. read more

I went in for a brazilian wax. The employees weren't very attentive, in fact I felt a little ignored while they gossiped amongst themselves. The service itself was a nightmare. The young lady that waxed me is inadequately trained and moved extremely slow. She did not use gloves and I left with a lot of hair at the location. Will not return and would not recommend. read more

This is for waxing services only! Recently moved back to the area after living away for 5 years and needed a Brazilian/eyebrow wax! When I was here 5 years ago this spa and salon was THE place, so I booked my appointment with confidence! I left my appointment today extremely disappointed. My usual wax which takes 8-10 mins lasted 30 minutes, and of those 30 minutes I spent 25 of them on my back, explaining over and over at 28 weeks pregnant with TWINS I can't be laying on my back as long as I was. The hair was removed, slowly, but surely - however I got home and wondered why I felt sticky everywhere! To find out - I have wax left over EVERYWHERE that is now melted into my under garments and clothes, and stuck to my skin/hair that wasn't pulled! My eyebrows are super sticky still despite using some make up remover to rid the wax - and SUPER red - which is not something that typically occurs (I wax eyebrows and Brazilian every 4 weeks religiously) .... My other problem is cost! I actually paid more for the subpar services than I did living in Seattle for exceptional services. I honestly won't be getting waxed here again. Cheers! read more

I am giving a review base on Front end "Receptionist" I don't know person name but she is extremely rude on the phone.. she made felt very uncomfortable and felt like my services are not welcome!! this happened more then once.. But I kept coming back because salon services are very good!! I love my hair stylist Kaitlyn!! she is miracle maker.. also other services are very good too.. but I do believe in good front end customer service cuz those one that I see it first and last!! I have been a returning client for over a year and have tried a few of their services. To start with in the summer of 2013, I have had my hair styled by Erin and make up done by Tracy. From what I remembered, Erin was subpar with customer service. I don't remember her smiling once. Tracy on the other hand was great to have as a make up artist. Fast forward to a year later, (Fall 2014), I have booked my wedding services for myself and my party. At the height of wedding season, these girls worked their tushes off. It's almost incredible with what they do. However, there's just something missing to each service. As a Boston native and having only getting my nails done rarely as a treat, I know just enough for nails to be trimmed evenly, buffered, and cleaned beneath the nail. Some things just lacked. Kristi was in charge of my hair for my wedding. Here, I will attest to a fantastic job. She spent well over an hour primping and perfecting each strand of my stubbornly thick hair. She had also done my make up for my wedding. I had asked for subtle and defined. And, she surely accomplished that. I couldn't have looked the way I did for my wedding it wasn't for her. My most recent visit was with Kristi to have my hair trimmed of dead ends. I liked how she cut it. For the cost of $26 for a wash, cut and blow-dry, it is undeniably cheaper than what I am accustomed to; usually $45+. Here, again, it seemed like something was missing. On average, I get my hair cut once every 12-16 months. That's no lie. But, I am used to having a leave-in conditioner or some product to help hair grow. Nothing like that is offered. I don't think it even exists in this spa. Towards the end of hair cutting, she did blow dry my hair. But, I had expected a blow-out. That extra added step to show my new layers would have made the difference in an okay experience and an extraordinary experience. I think the only part of this appointment that made me feel giddy was the free hot chocolate and coffee bar. I give a fair three stars for Venus. I will likely return in the next year. But, I certainly hope to see that extra mile in their service. Anything; a smile, a small conversation, a firmer hand massage, will go a much longer way and make that difference for each client... especially in gratuity. read more

Why are all the reviews so old? Venus is ok but the whole staff seems to have gotten lazy. I don't think any of the services are as good as they used to be and the attention to detail just isn't there. A good, floor to ceiling cleaning throughout would go a long way--especially now with Covid. read more

Had Kaitlyn R did amazing work in a short amount of time. While I say I am mot picky about my hair I give a very detailed description of what I like done and let the hair professional do their thing. Kaitlyn did my whole head in foils rotating between high lights and low lights in a hour and 15 minutes which record time for my hair. Next I like my blonde highlights to be as grey as possible. The toner formulation she concocted did wonders. I loved the whole experience. read more

This was given to me as a birthday gift and the place is clean and beautiful I have got my nails and pedi for over 30 years and this was the worst nails broke and the women who did it filed every one of my fingers on my skin opened and was bleeding as a nurse this is unacceptable opening skin like this could cas any type of infection you know that as a nail tech also fingernail broke the next day polish chipping off my toes and nails I was going on vacation and wanted it to be done nice this was horrible I did try them twice and twice it happened very disappointing read more

Service was good. I'm writing to say that the spa needs some attention to detail throughout the waiting area. First, a good scrubbing down or at the very least, dusting and wiping and reorganizing. I'd forgotten to take a book, so I wandered around a little and was surprised by the wear-and-tear that could easily be less noticeable with some elbow grease. They need to come in on a Sunday when the spa is closed and Spring clean! To that end, the fluorescent lighting in the waiting area is awful! They have incandescent lamps on that would hide a lot of the above and make us all look a little better, too, but they leave these awful overhead fluorescent lights in addition. I've been going here for years for different things.. massages are decent, hair cuts/colors/styles are great, pedicures are amazing... I don't recommend getting eyelash extensions here though.. the girl that did them was super sweet and friendly but clumps of my lashes are glued together, to the point that it's uncomfortable and itchy (the lashes can't go through their natural cycle of growing out and falling off) I've had to literally have tweezers and rip out fallen eyelashes, pulling out lashes that were still attached with them.. not fun. read more

Always have loved getting massages, pedis, hair cuts/foils, etc. throughout the years until I bought a toe ring last summer. Only wore it about 5 months and it just randomly snapped in half. I've had junky piercing pagoda ones that have lasted longer and cost less. I was just in a wedding last week and we all (1 bride, 8 bridesmaids and a grandma of the bride) came in to Venus to get glamorized for this big day. They were so accommodating and let us come in early and take over their back room with our food, coffee and champagne. They had upbeat music on and we all danced our way through the morning. It is a beautiful salon, filled with many talented and friendly people. We all looked great, hair and makeup, when we left and al the work they put in held up all night. If I didn't live almost 3000 miles away, I would certainly return to Venus to check out their other services. read more

I had Venus Day Spa do the hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids before my wedding. I went to the salon for my trial and for a manicure. The salon is beautiful inside and everyone was incredibly friendly. I was so happy with how both went. Venus Day Spa sent over six hair stylists/makeup artists to our hotel the day of our wedding. They all showed up on time, worked quickly, were super friendly and did an amazing job on everyone! My hair and makeup were still going strong at the end of the night. i recently got my lashes done here, they were fantastic! however, i purchased some type of nova lash mascara and cleaning wipes from your spa and used them today. mind you i got my lashes done on Friday at 2:45. it is Tuesday and i realized i didn't want the mascara on, (bit too much for me) and took it off with your recommended wipes, and used a face cleanser of mine with no oils in it, and a few minutes later after drying, they started falling off slowly, now it is 11 PM and they are completely ALL gone since 7AM. i recommend this place for lashes however, do not use the wipes or mascara as i see mine fell off... i'm not mad, more disappointed with how long they lasted, hopefully, i don't need to pay the $160 for when i go back to get them redone due to my lashes gone completely.... read more

I purchased a very well priced deal around Christmas time for an hour long massage and an hour long facial - for the price I paid, it was an okay experience. The "whirlpool spa" is a hot tub that is super chlorinated. The massage was okay, but I've had better. The facial was a joke. The girl that I had giving my facial had an attitude like I was inconveniencing her day, she continually kept rubbing the same area on my chin to the point where it was an annoyance, she did not talk about any of the product she was using... after she applied a mask to my face, she literally left the room. I've never had a facial where they did that - I thought a scalp massage was kind of standard? It was obvious after the facial that she was looking for a tip, but I'm sorry, it was a joke. I just moved to Bloom and wasn't sure where to go for a haircut. A few people recommended this place, so I tried it. I made the appointment online through their website, which was nice and easy. The atmosphere was cheery and relaxing. Very cute and clean. I wanted a simple wash and trim, but halfway through I changed my mind and asked if I could actually get a bunch of length off. Rebecca was totally flexible and did exactly what I wanted. She was sweet and easy to talk to, too. A lot of other salons I've been to try to push you to buy products from them. I came in and asked for silver highlights, the hairstylist said he was "unable" to do that color but said he would try a color similar. I was very skeptical because I specifically asked for that color. When he finished with me hair he knew he had messed up when he said "sorry but that's the best I can do for you" I left with my hair being green, blonde, pink, and a disgusting brown color. I am so beyond disgusted with this business. Several months ago during a spa day I overheard an employee tell a client how gross it was to give the body scrubs. She said that people just need to shower at home. I didn't say anything until months later when I received a "we haven't seen you in a while" email. I spoke with the owner who put a credit on my account. Now my friend and I scheduled pedicures together for today which I have been looking forward to. I called today to switch my friend to a manicure. The receptionist said she was about to call because someone was out sick and she needed to clear her schedule. I said to cancel my pedicure also. The receptionist asked if I was sure and I told her that I was only coming because it was supposed to be something fun with a friend. She replied that she had she had a girl in the ER. I said, "Whatever" (not even rudely, just like defeated for my day) and she hung up on me! I messaged on Facebook and someone called me back. The manager Jen who called was focused on the fact that I couldn't get my pedicure today after I repeatedly said, that's not what I'm upset about. I'm upset because your receptionist hung up on me. She continually defended the receptionist saying she felt disrespected and that I was being rude. I was completely shocked because I absolutely was not being rude or disrespectful at all! In all honesty, I was so frustrated on the phone with the receptionist that I had started to cry. I can't even believe she defended her employees actions. If I had raised my voice, gotten mean, swore, etc... Absolutely hang up on me. No one deserves that crap. But that is 100% not what happened. I will never go back to Venus. read more
