I will admit to being a total wine noob, and not very interested in wines to be honest. But I left with two bottles and didn't come across a wine from them that I didn't enjoy! Lucky enough to have a tasting from the lovely couple who own this winery, they talk passionately about their wines and processes. I loved the Siegerrebe Gewurztraminer and the Marechal Foch. It's very cool how they only use their own grapes they have grown on the property! If you're in the area, stop by for sure :)

They were friendly and we lucked out having the Lorin lead our tasting. He is so knowledgeable and makes a delicious wine. The grape varietals are amazing. It's wine like you've never had before. I can't wait for them to be able to ship to the States. Most of our wine made it over the border. We only lost 3 in transit which is a bummer. Definitely will come back whenever we are in Victoria again. This is a definite must stop!!

We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 4:00pm). The tasting room is elegant but tastings are being done outside. Their outside area is grand; well spaced with a mix of tables and picnic table seating. Our hostess was fantastic; detailed, knowledgeable and funny. Her descriptions of the wines were spot on. Tasting flights are $10.00 non-refundable per person. Never seen this before from a winery as most will waive the fee when you buy a bottle. Not here. Our group was given 5 wines to try. Bottles are in the $17.31 to $39.05 (before taxes) price range. - Charmat method sparkling - dry sparking wine. Slight bubbly and not too dry. - 2017 Pinot grigio - stonefruit, fresh and crisp. Found this one quite sweet but J liked this one the most and bought a bottle ($17.31). - 2018 Ortega - floral, aromatic and smooth. - 2017 Blanc de noir - textural, creamy and long. This was N's and our favourite; we each bought a bottle ($23.40). - 2018 Whole cluster pinot noir - we were told this red was about 6 months from reaching its peak. Right on the money. Good mouth feel but the finish was a touch acidic. Worth a visit to KW while you're in Salt Spring.

Absolutely terrible wedding experience. I really don't want to say bad things about my own wedding,…read moreI would much rather just think of it fondly, however I don't want this to happen to anyone else either. We had a small ceremony and reception in August 2015, with 35 guests that were all family members. We were told that we would have use of the property until 11pm, at which point all guests had to leave, and then ourselves and our staff had to be gone at midnight. This corresponds to all information that our vendors had regarding timing. At 830pm, the property manager turned off our extremely quiet music, and began insulting our guests and staff and telling them that they had to leave. There was absolutely no grounds for her to do this; we had done nothing wrong and were following all property rules. This unfortunate end to the night came on top of an incident involving a large black poodle from the property attacking one of our guests, and the property being shown to other prospective clients during our ceremony! Overall the experience with the property manager ended on a very sour note with our whole family and our staff. It is a great shame because the property itself was perfect, and it was otherwise such an amazing and beautiful day. We had reached out to the manager in several emails for an explanation, and to speak to the owners, but never got a response. I really hope that the owners can do something to rectify the situation.
