Holy wine! I was blown away by how delicious and crisp these wines were. I came to Cherry Point with a group and we all came back with a bottle or two because they had so many good wines! It is no wonder they had so many award winning wines. This was the first winery we visiting in the Victoria area, and we all wished we could have stayed there all day to drink and enjoy their beautiful patio and dine as what we hear is a wonderful restaurant. The Colombian couple that owns the winery conducted our tasting and they were so wonderful, friendly and energetic! Writing this review makes me want to go back right now! read more

Down the road from Enrico winery about an hour from Victoria. European style winery. Owners (husband and wife) were extremely knowledgeable about European wine. We tried 2 whites, 2 reds, and a dessert wine. Didn't care for the whites, the reds were good, the dessert wine was very good. Wasn't much to see as far as scenery or ambiance. read more

We used to ride our ebikes here until I saw a very big bear along the way. Now we arrive on the Ducati or in an enclosed vehicle. I love the food here. The menu changes and it's always fresh. Whatever bread they are serving that day, you must have it. The servings are not overwhelming therefore you can sample several dishes. I am not a big wine drinker so I mainly come here for the restaurant. The owners are a lovely couple and they have a booth at the Duncan's farmers market where you can sample their wine as well. The location is very green, relaxing, and a wonderful escape. We have never been disappointed. Worth the drive, check it out. read more

Lovey outdoor patio at the bistro. They allow dogs on the lower patio - best to let them know in advance if you are bringing a dog so they can arrange a table in that area. The bistro has really good food - definitely on par with good winery restaurants in the Okanagan. Each dish was beautifully presented. The server was knowledgeable about the wine pairings. I would recommend the bistro. We didn't try the tasting since we ordered wine with lunch. A note that one of the vineyard owners (she seemed like an owner) had quite a direct communication style. Our party didn't mind, but others may not be used to it. read more

Cherry Point is a lovely winery to visit however don't expect the wines to be top level. Location is lovely, service is ok, the tastings are quite tiny, and the owner who served us spent a lot of time telling us about how the wines are grown but not much re the tasting notes. Good place to start (which we did) because the wines in the area get much better as the day goes along. read more

This amazing winery not only boasts award-winning wine, but they also have a fantastic bistro as well! I highly recommend going there for lunch along with a wine tasting stop. Kudos to the Chef for using local ingredients from around the area. He literally picks up ingredients along the way to work from the local farms! We started with a curried cauliflower carrot soup that was so delicious that my husband (who despises carrots) finished his whole bowl clean! I didn't manage to get a picture of it, but if it's being offered, be sure to order it! We ordered the sockeye salmon with a blueberry balsamic reduction and the Spanish black pasta. Both were equally delicious. We had the suggested wine pairings and loved both the Ortega and Pinot Noir. Impressive wines from the Cowichan Valley! We finished our meal off with the chocolate lava cake upon recommendation from our server. It was SO good! Not only were the food and wines delicious, the winery is cute as well! It would be a great wedding or party venue! The staff were also all great. The owners were also serving up the wine tastings so you really get to know about how it was made! Dinner at the restaurant here called Amuse was delicious. Can't remember everything we had but I'm uploading a picture to sum it all up. They were very accommodating and let us share the 7 course meal so we could both taste everything. At the end they give everyone a house made truffle with the bill. Yum! When on Vancouver Island do yourself a favor and do some wine tasting. There are lots of little boutique vineyards. By California standards these are very young vineyards but for them 14 years is old. Cherry Point produces some yummy port and pinot noir. They were so kind and all the tastings are free. They even gave me a couple of bottles on the house. read more

When we arrived the tasting room it was filled with guests from a wine tour. We waited until those guests were all done and my husband decided to go for the tasting while I was with our kids. We were browsing around their backyard and garden when we decided to wait for him in the tasting room. We went in and tried to sit both of my kids on their bench they asked us to get out since our kids were too loud. We were in the tasting room for maybe 2 minutes and yes they may have made some sounds but that is quite normal for kids, and it was not like they were screaming or anything. What she said was this ' would you mind leaving since people cannot hear what I am explaining them?' None of the guests complained nor even looked at us because they were busy, and it was not if we were there long enough. Not only she ruined our wine tasting experience but also start of our vancouver island trip. In our more than 10 years of wine tours through okanagan area have we ever been treated this way, being kicked out because of the kids. It totally changed our perspective on vancouver island wines and we decided to cancel going to any of the wineries because we felt so embarrassed. We will make sure never to go back and to let everyone not to go if you have kids because they may be 'too loud' for her. Thanks for ruining our winery tour at vancouver island! read more

Cherry Point is one of my favourite island wineries. I have toured many and currently rate them at the top. They grow their own grapes and produce the wine on site. They have the best reds. I especially like the Pinot Noir and the Lagrimas Negras. As for whites the Ortega is superb. They also have a blackberry port that is delicious. Go for the aged as the flavour is beyond words. Basically just go. The tasting room is free so there are really no excuses. Plus the owners are absolutely charming. I hear they are producing a sparkling white now. I can't wait to try it. read more

When I first walked in I wasn't all that excited about this place. It doesn't have that modern look like some other wineries, however I was pleasantly surprised. One of the owners greeted us and although it wasn't the most inviting initial welcome, once we started tasting they became quite friendly and kind! It ended up being the best winery we had visited on the island to this day. The space may not be as amazing as others but still a beautiful outdoor space and the wine is the best of all wineries! I recommend this as one of the wineries to visit if you're short for time and have to only pick one or two to visit. Surprisingly Lovely visit after all! read more

One of the more established wineries on the island, used to be native owned not sure now. Has some of the better vintages available in the tasting room. It's a little snooty, its target customer is the retired wealthier Vancouver islander. read more

We had a lovely experience when we visited this winery. During the wine tasting, the owner was very genial and displayed am impressive knowledge of winemaking. The emphasis on terroir was a key focus. We enjoyed many of the wines sampled but left with bottles of the Ortega, the Pinot Blanc and the Pinot Noir. read more

This is an amazing vineyard, regardless if you are big into wine or not. It is one of the oldest vineyards on Vancouver Island and is one of the few that are able to use their own estate grapes(as a lot of the wineries on the island aren't established enough to). Maria and Xavier are two of the friendliest and biggest wineys I have ever met. They focus everything about their vineyard to being as local and as food/wine focused as possible. For their blackberry dessert wines they even grow blackberries to make it, and all the images on their wine labels have to do something with that wines food pairing. This is a must if you are visiting anywhere on the island. read more
