David served 20-years in the US Navy Military. He went to Brandon, before leaving for the hospital, and asked him to help me while he was gone. David passed away a couple weeks after leaving. After David's passing, I experienced the worst days at this community. The administrator, Brandon, began entering my resident when he felt like it. Even through my door was locked and without notice. Brandon, reported me to adult services after seeing me only once. The neighbors, who I had never met, began showing up at my door saying the most hurtful things. These things happened to the resident who lived there prior to us. Now, I know why she locked herself in the unit. I was not given a chance to move into the main club building. They had every opportunity to make me feel a part of the community, valued, and helped in any way.

They have serious…read morecommunication issues from administration (wouldn't return my calls), business office (what I owed them changed 3 times in 15 minutes, did not keep me up to date with accounts), social worker (was not specific when communicating with me then blamed me) and nursing (did not notify me when my loved one fell and was transported to ER, lost clothing and glasses). They were as happy to see me go as I was to go, but they were going to discharge two dementia patients who had nowhere else to go. If you do end up with a loved one here, be vigilant. Visit every day and ask questions. Better yet, just don't use this place. It ended up being a nightmare for us.

I arrived at 1:30 pm I went in and did my shopping and checked out at 2:14 pm and the elderly woman was still there .As I was walking out there was a Hispanic woman in scrubs and I heard her tell the elderly lady she would get the car and she was carrying a case of sodas I asked the woman you have been waiting all this time for someone to pick you up and I did ask what facility she stayed and she the Sherrick on Utica .The woman pulled up in the car and I did ask her is this how you treat your residents I told her she has been waiting for awhile of course the woman did not respond so I called the facility where the elderly woman stated she lived.A Sharon answered the phone and I started to tell her of what had occurred at Walmart she then asked I guess the woman in the vehicle of the complaint I was making she stated she started screaming at me and asking questions I advised Sharon yes I did ask if that is how they treated there resident but I did not scream at her.Sharon was making excuses that sometimes they have more than one resident they have to attend I advised her she was the only one I saw and no one else in vehicle.So at that point I advised I would just call state and make a complaint to them.That is considered elder abuse when you leave them to fend for themselves what is the use in having them in a home if they are not being taken care of.So please do not put your elders in a home like this spend your money and they are not being taken care of .
