We were here last weekend. A quick 5 day break to Marbella was needed for a bit of sunshine and of course some good food and drink. Well Marbella delivered on all counts. The Venta Del Golf restaurant is actually nearer to Mijas up the hill in Riveria Del Sol. Its a typically Spanish place. All dark wood inside with a beautiful terrace outside. The terrace has around a dozen tables some of which are sheltered from the sun by a canopy of grape vines. The staff on the night we were there were 3 Spanish guys all of whom had limited English. Of course for most including me this only adds to the atmosphere. The menu is focused on fish and lamb and is very good value. I had the leg of lamb which I have to say is in the running for meal of the year. Meat fell from the bone and was well done almost crispy on the edges going to tender pink by the bone. Simply offered with greens and typical enormous Spanish jacket potato. I'm a big guy but couldn't finish it. I saw a number of Spanish residents getting an actual doggy bag for their left overs to take home to a lucky fido ! Sorry couldn't think of a Spanish dog name! If you happen to be going on holiday to this area this year then give it a try. Cost wise under 50 euro for two with drinks and for the area that's very good value. read more
