very friendly owner who was willing to give me good prices on plants! I bought this small guy for 15, but two weeks later I realized it's infested with spider mites. Now i have a weekend project ahead of me for the next couple weeks battling these guys, because despite the mites, the plant is beautiful. I guess to an extent, sellers cannot control pests when plants are in this close proximity to each other, but still very sad to see that this plant I paid 15 dollars for from here has now become a project plant...

I have been coming here for my plants for the last seven years. I bought my first fig tree here and it has grown into a beautiful massive tree. Dustin will still come by to help service or repot my plants. If need be this family owned nursery isthe best of the best! Five stars all the way.

I have many plants at home and most of them are from Venice Plants. All the plants I've gotten from there look beautiful and healthy, even the ones I've had for over a couple of years now. Dustin and his son Jonathan are always super helpful and very knowledgeable. They have such a variety too. If you buy a pot there, they'll help you pot your plant before you leave and will give you great tips to take care of it at home, all with a smile on their faces. I don't go anywhere else to get plants and I highly recommend this spot! They're great.

My college friend Kou from UC Santa Barbara is a Venice Beach local. So he's like Sophie, let's adventure for a few hrs and I'll show ya more of Venice. So this was the plant spot he suggested. It's awesome! You walk in and it's like a carefully watered jungle. Plants dangling above yr head and below and everywhere in between. The aisles are Narrow, so the plants are kinda in the aisles and you divide them like the Red Sea. The prices aren't listed on any of them or the type of plant, but if you use the plant.net app it does the trick. It's what I do when I'm hiking and come across cool unidentified plants. The cacti were especially gorgeous and LA being in newly in a drought once again, being fresh-water conservative is a thing. The city already recycles our waste water for reusable but to be sustainable and thought, the drought resistant cacti is what I will be purchasing. In the future, we are moving shortly bc of the real estate hunt. So ya know don't want to move cacti and destroy them. Shall be back once we make this investment property purchase and buy some beauties to create a lil cacti garden. I adore this local hidden gem.

Great place to buy some plants and awesome pots. We're very excited about the experience, the price, and what we ended up getting. Great to meet the owner there and I'd recommend to anyone to shop here!

Heaven Pure Heaven! I almost don't want to review this place to keep it a secret because it is a gem. I will honestly make the 45min-hour drive to visit this incredible place. PARKING: Located on the corner of Vernon & Lincoln Entrance is on Vernon, with street parking PLANTS: Such a selection!! Both indoor and outdoor plants. So many different varieties in all stages (young and more mature). You can walk through each aisle and you will find so many different plant options. Mature beauties hanging above head, succulents, you name it. Really look and you will find some special ones. The only downside is, there are no prices on anything. PRICING: The pricing is the 2nd best part of this glorious place! Plant prices have skyrocketed to ridiculous numbers, but I feel you get such a bang for your buck here! $8 for a very healthy and great sized Silvery Anne, and walked away with a gorgeous full String of Pearl's for $20. Super reasonable pricing. SERVICE: AMAZING! OUTSTANDING, FRIENDLY. Shout Out to Jonathan, he was awesome! Great to talk plants and chit chat, telling me about this family owned business being here for 40 years I believe. I really felt the love & care here. They helped me pick a beautiful plant, walking through each aisle, eyeballing the perfect one to take home Overall 10/10, feels intimate and private and still sacred. I really hope this place stays humble and xontinues to service Venice with nothing but plant love.

My fave go-to plant store! I'm from Oakland and will make the drive (with a little fun in the way) just for them! I've been to many store in the Bay Area, SoCal, others but not one compares to this spot. Having gone back the other weekend was nice to see the homer is still hustling every day, running back and forth, as usual :). Thank you as always, and can't wait for the next visit!

Selection of plants is okay, definitely not the best. The plants are very well kept and healthy. I've purchased a few plants from this place and they have done quite well. No air plants. Service is quite good.

Thank you Dustin! AMAZING We are so Happy

Ask the Community - Venice Plants

I bought a couple of plants here over the weekend. One should be watered weekly, the other monthly. Do I water right away or assume that they were watered when I purchased so I should wait the allotted time frame? Help! New plant mom over here :) thx

Do the finger trick to measure the soil's humidity or buy a moisture meter. The packaging will tell you how to measure the moisture based on the plant species you purchased. Don't assume it's already watered. Biggest mistake for new plant moms is to… Read more

"Oh, Mickey…read more.. You're so fine! You're so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!" Mickey Hargitay Plants is the coolest little big plant store, plant nursery, garden center and serene landscaping places I've ever seen. From the pure vibrant vibes to the incredible staff that make this gem thrive. Tucked away in Hollywood on the cusp of West Hollywood off of Sycamore Ave and Fountain Avenue, just a small skip east from La Brea Avenue. They're open from 9 AM until 5:30 PM all 7 days of the week. And carry plants, planters, gardening essentials and wonderoud things of all shapes and sizes. I've been passing by frequently for nearly two months on my way to work usually before they're open or after they're closed on as I make my way home and finally got to stop in and explore. That wave of calm, relaxation and vibrance that being around nature and all it's planty goodness lives here in abundance. Explore in person, place orders for pick up or even delivery. Mickey Hargitay has a rich history to match it's ambiance since it's birth in 1980, starting off with succulents, cacti and their own macrame designs Voted one of the best places to buy plants in 2015. Featured in the L.A. Times in 2016. Featured in Voyage LA in 2021. Not to mention a great spotlight in 2025. Founded and owned by Mickey Hartigay Jr. a fellow Sag and plant lover like myself. He and every single person here is a gem, I picked up on nothing but good energy even after the end of a long day and rainy weekend everyone here does their best to bring a slice of joy to each person. Ringing up my assortment right as they were closing they still didn't miss a beat. Hoping to stop in a lot more (scheduling pending) and get to know everyone, find more plants for the house as well as a new plant for my boyfriends place of even bring him in to explore. Pup friendly. Family friendly And very much open to all. Recently started following their Insta and I'm "obsessulated!" Easy parking in the neighborhood, street parking primarily or an easy stroll in closeby, riding the metro or parked off La Brea. Four new very healthy plants in various sizes for under $20... Insert all the heart eyes and plant emojis here!!

This was a 30 minute drive for me but that's nothing when it comes to enjoying a walk through some awesome plants. There isn't much parking and you have to find a spot on the street. Upon entering the property you are consumed with lush and rare greenery. I found many sought after plants and they were priced accordingly. There are many areas in their outdoor area as well as inside the greenhouse. Most plants have a price on the pot of on a tray if there are multiples. There is also a pottery shop although I didn't go in there. I could have easily left with a car full of plants but was able to exercise restraint and only left with a sweet Hoya Polyneura. Hope you enjoy my photos!
