This is a long post/review!
During our trip in Venice, Italy last September 10, I booked in advanced the Half day Excursion to Murano,Burano and Torcello as well as the Skip the Lines at St.Marks Basilica and Doge Palace and Museums to avoid waiting in the line and for our convenience. I was having second thoughts of the legitimacy of the site but I booked for us anyways. The email containing the infos about the tour and the tickets were clear and was sent immediately after paying. We printed them out and brought it with us.
But the day of our Half day Tour it was raining! We got there 10 mins late and had a hard time finding the area because of the rain and flood at St. Marks square. It was stated in their email you have to arrive 20 mins before the start of the tour!!! We did not know it was going to rain and worst flooding!
Fortunately, the guy ( i forgot his name, sorry) at the yellow desk still accepted our voucher and told us to pick a time the next day for the tour. That was a relief! We don't want our money to go to waste.
The glass making demo was a good experience, its not everyday you'll see how they make it, truly fascinating, theres no lace making demo though, you are on your own the whole tour, the guide was only in the boat talking and the glass making demo. If you are only in Venice for a short while (like us) this is a good way to still visit/explore some part of Venice.
The Skip the line and museum tickets are great although we didn't get to use the skip the lines because there's hardly any line to skip, since the square is once again flooded the next day.
That being said if you are going in Venice during summer months/ peak season you have to have the skip the lines tickets for your convenience.
The tour for the 3 islands can also be bought on the spot, there's always a person there to help you,(you still have to be there 20 mins earlier the tour time though.) And the tour will proceed rain or shine. So don't be complacent that they will accept your voucher if you're late, if its flooding/raining/too many people in the streets or square, just to be sure. Or just buy the tickets at the desk the same day. They have a 9:30am (be there by 09:10am)11:00am (be thereby 10:40am) and 2:30pm (be there by 2:10pm) thats the schedule they have as I remember it, I'm not sure if they changed it, you can always email them to ask questions but I prefer talking to a person to answer my questions than waiting for 2 days for a reply which they don't have sadly. But thats just me.
Will definitely book again in the future and is recommended! Thanks venetoinside! read more
