Danish artist Thomas Dambo has built seven giant trolls from reclaimed wood using old shelves, pallets, and branches from fallen trees. Trolls are 13 to 60-foot-tall sculptures and are dotted around the forest with some practicing chores and others taking a rest. Super fun to discover! But be careful for mosquitoes - they are brutal in the wooded area. Mr & I got totally eaten. But better than being eaten by the trolls. This place absolutely rocks!

Okay, we didn't spend a huge amount of time…read morewandering around it namely because it was getting a little dark and we were trying to locate a laundromat (I'm starting to call them wash salons for some bizarre reason - maybe it is because that is what the Germans call them). Anyway this certainly isn't what I would call a boring park since there are quite a few things to do here, even if lying on the grass and having a snooze is your idea of doing something in a park (though make sure nobody steals your bag if that is what you are doing). As I wandered through here I did encounter some play equipment and a rather pleasant lake. However, the great thing about the park was simply its greenery, even in the early evening the place was pleasant.

The park features many walkways and lots of grass area for playing sport or simply enjoying the outdoors. While there isn't many trees around for shade or cover, there is a area in the middle with a building where you can sit without being in the sun, also a public restroom. The park is well maintained, very clean and seemed to be a popular spot for families. While I walked here, there seemed to be plenty of parking around.

It's a great place for a run or walk, and there are a couple of cafes nearby as well (Mika is adjacent to the park, and has a good value lunch; Van Dikke is not too far either, in the nearby Park). Keep an eye out for sculptures on the ground and in the air, as you wander the paths through trees and around lakes.
