The equipment is ideal for the area, with plenty off choices for more intense rides. The options for "trails" are urban for the local area, and north and south for the Wineries. We had a package deal that has a guide for the first day and on our own for the second day. Our guide, Taylor, was way cool. A local farmer/roadie/ San Fran local, with keen intel on the farming/bio-dynmic/ foodie/ family history. He clearly has a great history and relationship with the folks we stopped at and every bit was personable and flexible. He had an excellent read on the strength and weakness of the group. Overall, we did a gentle 20 miles on cushie bikes and drank a touch more wine then is good for willfully concurring the hills. We had a group of 6 and took a north loop that peaked at Quivira with the most spectacular bio-dynamic gardens. I mean bees, pigs, chickens and just the coolest raised beds I have ever seen. Seriously, I could happily retire and intern here. Our second day, was on our own on the southern route, me thinks just about 23 miles. My Aunt made it to Porter Creek (not on purpose) but I peaked at Thomas George Estate. We followed recommendations and lunched at Arista. Worthy!!! This is another heaven on Earth spot. It is not over rated. My only small complaint, on the second day (far beyond the control of the good folks at Wine County Bikes was the aggressive construction truck drivers. Mind you...there is a consistent "you're going to get hurt bad if you come off the road" with no clear bike lane. With that said the greater majority of cars, albeit fast, are very good about dealing with "tourist bike riders". Highly recommended!!!!!!

On our way back, my fear of falling on a busy street came to fruition. Carolin was so great, she made sure that I was OK and then checked to make sure nothing on my drivetrain was bent or harmed during the fall and explained what to look for and why it was important to check. Since our first ride, I have continued to join in group rides and she has been nothing but encouraging. Carolin takes the time to explore routes so that when it's time to be the fearless group ride leader she knows the ins and outs of the route, where to stop for water and the best stops for pastries. When I first started out, climbing hills was so intimidating... but ride by ride Carolin helped me get into the right mindset through introducing me to new hills, challenging me to repeat familiar ones with bigger efforts and even sneaking in extremely challenging ones as surprises. She will hang back on climbs when she sees that I fall behind to make sure I'm doing ok and lift my spirits if I need it. Carolin has supported me through my cycling journey through always being available to answer questions about maintenance, gear and ride recommendations. She motivated and supported my latest endeavor of dismantling and reassembling my bike for traveling and could not have done it without her! Entering a higher barrier, male dominated sport is challenging as is. I am so grateful for Carolin not only welcoming me into this amazing community that she is building in the Bay Area but also to be able to relate to as a woman cyclist. It's very special being able to have that and her dedication to create a welcoming environment for women. 15/10 would recommend riding with Carolin for a welcoming community and for support towards your goals (and goals you didn't even know you had)!

I've learned that while one of the best aspects of cycling is how accessible it is, there is so much to learn and dive into regarding riding safety, riding in groups, and bike repair/maintenance. Enter Carolin with her expertise and passion on all of these aspects! After going on several rides with her, I've found myself riding more safely, more confidently, riding in groups more effectively, and just riding overall with more stoke! She's also given me great advice on bike maintenance and traveling with a bike (although I'm a mechanical engineer, I knew embarrassingly little about bike maintenance, and Carolin's passion and can-do attitude are infectious). I booked a Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito tour back in March for 6/13/2026. Upon arrival I was…read moreinstantly greeted by the friendly employee who checked me in, provided me a helmet and set me up with an e-bike. All of the equipment seemed well maintained and I had no issues with it throughout my tour. Joey was the tour guide for me and the six others in our group. Joey was knowledgeable about San Francisco and it's history as he provided numerous bits of information at each stop along our route. The views were great although we got a foggy day so never had a full view of the bridge. The weather was great and I was comfortable in a sweatshirt although the drive across the bridge was way colder than I expected! I felt that this tour is well worth the price and it was nice to have a stress free experience being guided throughout the city and across the bridge. Sausalito is also a very cute town with tons of dining options. When the tour ends, you are left to explore on your own and just have to get your bike back before closing time. I prepaid for a ferry ticket (Sausalito back to San Fran) when I booked my reservation. Unfortunately, they forgot to give me the voucher when I left for the tour so I had to purchase my own ticket on the ferry and obtained a refund upon my return. It was $8.25 to buy my ticket for the ferry (includes your bike) but they charged $18.00 online. I consider it a win. I am super glad I rented an e-bike because there is no way I would have made the tour on a pedal bike. It was a pretty long distance with a few big hills. I would say you have to be an avid biker to be able to pull it off although the employees insist people do it all the time.

I wanted to share some feedback regarding the Pedego Bike Shop in Livermore based on my recent…read moreexperiences. While the shop appears to excel in its core rental business--reflected in consistently positive customer reviews and a strong reputation for providing a smooth, enjoyable rental experience--the same level of performance does not seem to carry over to its sales and customer communication practices. In particular, the sales process felt less organized and attentive than expected. Communication around product availability, follow-up, and overall customer engagement could be improved to better match the high standard set by the rental side of the business. Clearer, more proactive communication and a more structured approach to sales would likely enhance customer confidence and satisfaction. Given the success of the rental operation, there is a strong foundation to build upon. I would suggest that by aligning the sales activity that has been primarily driven by the 2025/26 AVA rebate program to closely match what has been demonstrated in rentals would significantly strengthen the overall customer experience. In addition it appears based on investigation additional costs to consumers ( shipping and to some users higher assembly costs) were added when submitting a sales request via the AVA program. Based on these experiences I would not recommend using Pedego for the reminder of the 2026 AVA program.. I hope this constructive feedback is helpful and contributes to continued improvement.

For anyone not hardcore Chinese, like myself, this tour is a necessity for braving the Andrew Zimmern-like delights of Oakland Chinatown. I mean, let's face it. Many of us are are going to have at least some amount of trepidation about diving right into the restaurants & markets of Oakland Chinatown. But with Carlo's trusty & knowledgable guidance, we were all able to relax & really enjoy the wonders that this non-touristy Chinatown has to offer. & it wasn't all about food. Though there was more than enough downright delicious food at each our 4 restaurant stops to stuff all of us, even with plenty of walking during the tour. The Oakland Chinatown tour also had a healthy helping of history mixed in that deepened the understanding & appreciation of this neighborhood. Savor Oakland Food Tours' tour of Oakland Chinatown was truly a mouth-watering & eye-opening experience. Knowing what a great tour this is, I know I'll have to check out their Jack London Square tour sometime.

Here were all our stops, which took 3 hours: 1. Home of Chicken and Waffles, 2. Oakland Supply Co. 3. Blue Bottle 4. Authentic Bagel Company 5. lOAKal 6. Rosenblum Cellars 7. Baia Pasta 8. Forge 9. Bocanova 10. Miette And there were other stops along the way where we learned the history of the area, including who Jack London was. Geneva was an awesome tour guide! She's so passionate about showcasing what Oakland has to offer in hopes to shed the negative image. And the tour was evenly paced, not too fast, not too slow. More importantly, the food was delicious and I was quite full at the end! If it wasn't for Yelp, I would never, ever heard about this tour, let alone be in Oakland. I hope to go on their other tours soon, and perhaps discover Oakland on my own!
