This place is unapologetically hipster, from the fancy organic condiments you'll find on your table, to the iPad-based ordering system that even some of the staff can't figure out and posters proclaiming local art events. You'll either love the atmosphere or hate it.
The food here should be less divisive as it's all consistently excellent. Menu options are a bit limited (you're essentially restricted to crepes, sandwiches, and a handful of traditional breakfast entrees), but what they do, they do well.
Probably owing to the Velo Cafe's out of the way location and the childcare facility across the street, much of the clientele here consists of women and families with small children. That can make for a noisy experience at times. And crowded as well around lunch time.
Anyhow, the food here is very good, my only complaint boils down to pricing vs. portion size. I'd really like to see either slightly cheaper prices or slightly larger servings at this place. read more
