First, the nurses wrapped my arms so tight after liposuction that the very next day at my post op appointment when the surgeon removed the bandages from my upper arms they were burned, bruised and puss filled. I am so devastated because not only are my arms healing from plastic surgery, but I have scars on both of my upper arms that will scab over and leave marks. The photos attached are two weeks out from my post op, so imagine what they looked like on the post op day. Next, I went back and forth with the billing department on a charge that is not to be billed to my card (as I emphatically stated) and when the manager/supervisor called me (her name was Catherine, Christine, Chrissy or something with a "C"), she basically told me that she was going to charge my card regardless of me telling her not to charge the fee. When I first came to him, I was dealing with significant pain and mobility issues related to cancer treatment. The pain had become severe enough that I was even considering surgery. Dr. Tian helped me feel better almost immediately, and with continued treatment, my pain improved dramatically. Through his acupuncture treatments I was ultimately able to avoid surgery altogether. Regular sessions with Dr. Tian are a major reason I have been able to maintain a better quality of life during treatment. He has helped me in ways that no other practitioner was able to. I am a 70-year old male, American-born and raised, of European descent. I knew little of Chinese medicine before seeing Dr. Tian. About a year before I began to see him, I was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer. By the time I began to see him, I had failed a year-long trial of chemotherapy when a cancerous lesion recurred in my lungs. I had surgery to remove the lesion, but at that time, no other conventional treatments were available. I wanted to try everything that I reasonably could, including Chinese medicine. I scheduled appointments with Dr. Tian and one other prominent Chinese physician. I decided to continue with Dr. Tian for several reasons: The person who referred me to Dr. Tian stated that Dr. Tian had specialized knowledge about cancer and was known as an expert in herbology, Dr. Tian's appointments were one hour - twice as long as the other physician's - and during the appointments, Dr. Tian took the time to explain his approach to me and answer questions. I later discovered that besides his education in Chinese medicine, Dr. Tian has a PhD in Western oncology, and that he has developed a liver cancer treatment - a mix of herbs -- that is now used in China. His training gives him a great depth of knowledge about cancer. In addition, over many years he has treated many hundreds of oncology patients and has had some remarkable successes. I have benefited from his expertise in oncology. He uses innovative acupuncture techniques and prescribes an herb formula that he designs and mixes himself, and that he varies depending on my condition. He also prescribes pre-packaged herbs as indicated. (I should note that one of the things that I have learned from him is that in China, for many illnesses, patients generally consider herbs to be at least as important as, if not more important than, acupuncture for their treatment.) About a year after I began to see Dr. Tian, a second small cancerous lesion recurred in my lungs, and about a year after that, a third one recurred. Both were removed by surgery. No cancer has recurred since then, and I have now been cancer-free for fifteen years. Since I began to see Dr. Tian, I have maintained what most would consider a healthful lifestyle, including following a plant-based diet, but the only medical treatment I have received for my cancer has been from Dr. Tian. My conventional oncologists have indicated that my survival of this type of cancer for this period of time is extremely unusual. Besides benefiting from his expertise in oncology, I have also benefited from his ability to treat a wide range of other health issues. Dr. Tian strikes me as the Chinese version of what we Americans call an old-fashioned country doctor. He seems to have a treatment for any of the illnesses that I have presented to him -- ranging from seasonal allergies and a sprained ankle to mild neuropathy and acid reflux -- his approach is holistic - he looks at overall health, not just the specific symptoms -- and his treatments are natural and non-invasive Beyond Dr. Tian's treatment of specific ailments, I believe I have also benefited from his advice on nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction. In addition, I have always appreciated Dr. Tian's willingness to explain his treatments to me. When I ask him, he also gives general health advice based on Chinese medicine, and I personally find a great deal of both wisdom and common sense in it. For example, he points out that people (along with mammals generally) naturally slow down in the winter season, in preparation for the high-energy spring and summer seasons, so that during winter, it is particularly important to get a good night's sleep. He is extremely intelligent and articulate - he converses easily about politics and the issues of the day - and I think that if he had decided to be a teacher, he would have been a very good one. At present, my overall health is excellent. I personally believe his treatments have improved my overall health, and that has strengthened my natural defense mechanisms against cancer. It is clear to me that Dr. Tian is a rare physician. At my suggestion, several of my colleagues and friends, and several family members, have also seen him. I informed them there's no way because the second set of evidence is on its way from the from the vein doctor and the plastic surgeons well they kept me on hold for 15 minutes and then said to me well you can send your evidence in I said oh but my case is closed but you want me to send evidence in okay the caseworker name was Madeline, and the person that sent out the letter name was Eunice, well she must be a part of that group that Dr that Buckner, goes to Jamaica with because when they said they took it seriously and I know they were lying I contacted the governor's office and they reopened the case and sent all my records and proof to the health department especially now that we all know it was silicone injected in my face by the nurse Nicole who Alex knew had a gray suitcase with black on it and I told him that when I talked to him on the phone he claims he don't be around her as anymore well Dr Buckner asked me to trust this woman and I did three times I said no to him and he said come on so I did. But since I never heard back from them, I am sharing it below. ********************************************** I hesitated to write this, hoping that I would get a survey from the practice itself and could keep this "in-house" so to speak. However, the fact that I am still upset more than a month after my appointment has me writing this review. I had a LAP Band put in 12 years ago by Dr. Barry Greene. I had no problems with it, and I felt good about the practice. Recently I have been having some gastric issues and my primary care physician (PCP) ordered a CAT Scan of my GI tract among other things. My PCP thought that the band had slipped and asked me to make an appointment for a follow-up with Dr. Greene. My appointment was in late September. That day I had a fluoroscope (a procedure where you drink some barium while having a scan while swallowing) which was read by Dr. Joseph Greene. He showed me some "rough edges" on my esophagus. I asked him what this could mean, and he replied that I needed to come back to talk to Dr. Barry as this could be an issue and that he (Barry,) as the LAP band expert, needed to be the one to talk to me. The earliest appointment was for late October. So far no complaints except for the long wait and lack of immediate information. I now had a month to wait and think about all of the terrible things those "rough edges" could mean and by the time of my appointment I was about as nervous as one could be when one knows in the back of their mind that if something were truly wrong I would have been rushed to the front of the queue. At least that was how I comforted myself when I was most scared. The day of the appointment with Dr. Barry arrived. I was taken into the back by an assistant and asked the questions I expected to be asked, about medications, medical history, etc. Then I was asked, "So why are you here today?" I looked at the assistant with incredulity and answered "I don't know. I was told I needed to come back to see Dr. Barry, so you tell me." She excused herself without addressing my answer. Barry then came in. He glanced at my chart and at the fluoroscope photo and pronounced that the band was perfectly situated. He then asked me a few questions, after which he said that the band was working perfectly. He explained why the band was working perfectly. He then started to talk about other surgery options, at which point I stopped him, pointed to the photo and asked "Well what about this? The jagged edges of my esophagus? He answered "Oh, that's nothing. It's just the contractions from swallowing." He then returned to his spiel about a Gastric Sleeve. Nothing acknowledging the fact that I had been worried for over a month about these jagged edges. Nothing to reassure me that yes, I was correct in thinking that they would have scheduled me for an earlier appointment if something were really wrong. Instead, I was left with the definite impression that no one had opened my chart, much less looked at it, since my last appointment, meaning that if something really were wrong, they wouldn't know... or care. I left feeling the following: 1. That the questions about my current band and the pronouncement that it was "working perfectly" was simply a "cover your ass" move. 2. That this second appointment was for no purpose other than to sell me more surgery. 3. That I was the victim of a medical "bait and switch." This review is not to question the competence of this practice and the providers therein. They are excellent surgeons, but the lack of empathy was astounding. As I said in the beginning of the missive, I am still upset.

I decided to switch doctors and it took over 2 months for him to release my records to me, I had to fill out forms, fax forms and finally my new doctor, who hadn't wanted to see me until he had the records, had to call Dr. Lakner's office and insist they release them. Then I had to go BACK down to the office where they gave me yet another runaround before finally relenting and giving them to me after I paid a fee. The kicker? He slapped with with a $250 "Leaving the Practice Fee" I ended up having a high risk pregnancy with early labor starting at 29 weeks and I am so glad I left this doctor. I firmly believe my child wouldn't be here if i stayed. Do not use him.
