I had the amazing opportunity of volunteering here w the Lockheed Martin special projects team back…read morein the fall and I'm looking forward to many more personal volunteer experiences during weekends of dedicating time to such a great cause. Maryland Food Bank thrives off of weekend volunteer hours for packers in their conveyor belt area to box canned goods and boxed foods as they'd otherwise have to bill these hours to payroll. I enjoyed myself and even got in a little cardio as the belt moved more and more foodstuffs through. I was in charge of canned veggies and boy were there lots of them. It was a good time and I can't wait to go back!

The Western Acceptance Facility is the southernmost garbage dump for Baltimore County residents…read more Convenient to me living a mile away, but there aren't a lot of dumps to choose from so maybe not to everybody. Workers will direct you to specific bins depending on what type of garbage you're bringing in, but they do have dedicated areas for recycling different items. They don't take "construction materials" like pink insulation, as only the facility in White Marsh will take that. So much for convenience.

I'm not exactly sure what all they consider "landscaping areas" but if I'm to go by the pictures…read morethey sent there were only two areas around my home that were potentially done all in the back of my home. Nothing out front and I can tell because I still get the random ant running across my bed at least once a week. I did request that they treat the area around my pool because there are so many ants but I don't see that there was anything done. It'll take a couple of days for me to see if that area was treated due to a very big thunderstorm we had last night that drove the ants to cover. I can however say that I haven't had a single ant in my kitchen so far this year. The spiders are invading in ridiculous numbers so I've been spraying the inside of my home with some pest repellant I have. Honestly, I'm underwhelmed with my service. I know that there's no completely "bug free" home, but I can't say that what they're doing works longer, but for a day or so. every one on the staff that I've communicated with seem very nice and just lovely. I should've listened to the reviews on this company that were so low. Unfortunately, we were in a…read morepinch needed to move quickly after another moving company canceled. I spoke with someone on the phone who gave a low quote, had immediate availability, and I understood the terms of the quote which were they charge a full hour just to come to your house for travel and then a two hour minimum. Our move went two hours over the minimum. This was not helped by the fact that they insisted on taking their time to wrap everything in plastic wrap even when we had some cheap stuff that we said just throw it on the truck we don't care, and disassembling things that really didn't require it. Our house was only 900 square feet and we did not have all that much and were moving less than a mile away, not across the state or country. We had to finally stop them and say this is getting to be too long and decided to dismount and move our TVs and bed frames by ourselves the next day. We were fine with paying for the extra two hours. Then comes the surprise: A $400 FEE FOR MATERIALS. What materials? Plastic wrap and packaging tape, and I suppose depreciation on their moving blankets? Seriously folks, this company will get you one way or another. Make sure that you have wrapped up everything yourself. Their workers were personable and hard-working, but the business model here is to ensure you go over the two hour minimum and to charge an exorbitant rate for materials. Do not be deceived on the phone when making the initial appointment by their very knowledgeable and reassuring booking staff. That's why I thought a two star rating must have been a mistake. I was talking to a real person. The text messages that were sent seemed to have prepackaged responses and I ask if I was talking to a bot they said no. They claimed their Yelp rating is low because they "don't pay for reviews like other companies." Well, I'm a real customer and have paid dearly to provide you, the unwitting consumer, with this review. Moving is stressful enough. Getting ripped off is just insult to injury. Their phone number will come up as spam on your phone, and if you've made it this far reading this review, you can understand why. If you're desperate and have lots of cash to burn, this company will be great. However, avoid if you can!

We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.).
