I prefer buying our weekly supply of vegetables from my Mom's suki in a nearby talipapa. Aside from the huge savings, I also get to have fresh veggies that stay the same the whole week until I use them for cooking.
My Mom's suki is actually a husband-and-wife team who sells fresh vegetables all day everyday on a stall whom they share with the Siomai King tenant. They are strategically located at the entrance of the talipapa, which is an area facing the National Road. This makes them accessible to more people as commuters and people doing their errands at the bayan will easily spot them.
Our suki sell fresh vegetables at a very affordable price and they have small packages of produce that are ideal for those who are cooking for a small group like our family of three. From our suki, I can buy veggies with prices ranging from Php10 to Php15. I don't get to buy good quality produce at a very low cost from the supermarket. Our suki would even give us something for free every time we buy a lot from them. Getting our produce from our suki is indeed good my budget! read more
