They had no idea even how far off the floor to put outlets, no clue on how to level kitchen cabinets, PLUMBING? - DON"T BOTHER! - neat/Clean? - They don't know the meaning of the words! - I had work lined up for these people after me, at LEAST 4 jobs and they saw the workmanship and the length of time (which they blamed on a couch being in the way the whole time) uh... Move it to the corner and work on the rest of the place? DUH! - VERY unprofessional, Janice practically BEGS for extra payments to help them from month to month. Overall this was a gut job and they kept throwing in my face that this was a big job, DUH! That's why I called a contractor! I thought they could handle it! - They still have YET to complete the job and have stopped responding to my texts and calls. I have since canceled both of my credit cards that they are using so they cannot charge me anymore! - PATHETIC - DO NOT RECOMMEND ZERO STARS! - They say they are "done" both of my sinks LEAK and there are holes in drywall where there were mistakes made and the won't even respond to me to work together to get this completed. Now I have to hire someone else to clean up THEIR MESS! BIGGEST PROBLEM is COMMUNICATION. They BARELY respond to a text message and when they do it's have this there in the morning, and they text me at 9pm! Even the husband mentioned to me not to text Janice after 3pm as she's a bit of a drinker! - REALLY???? Of course they started out nice saying they would waive the 4% credit card fee and pick up supplies at Lowes then it turned out they DID charge me the 4% fee and they refused picking up supplies after about the 2nd week.

After finally having time to work on my property he said he 'had to go work on other projects now as its taken too long'. Meaning he wanted to prioritize other jobs and would rather piss me off, than to piss them off. Fine. I wanted to part ways amicably, but then he told me how much he was going to refund my deposit for. The deposit was $26k. He said he made a path to the site on property, and made the sand mound. He claimed it was fully approved by the SEO and thus his work was worth $17k. I found a new septic installer, got a quote, then told them the sand mound was completely done. They started work, and refunded me $4k, stating the SEO was not happy, and they had to get more loads of sand delivered. All I know for sure is that Josh 1. Delayed my project with excuse after excuse. 2. Bailed on it eventually, stating he had too much work on his docket. (showing his excuses were garbage to begin with, he simply took on too much work) 3. Lied about the state of the work he had done. 4. Did not refund me an adequate amount. Even assuming the new septic installer over-charged me, more than 4X the price of the work? unlikely. When I asked for an accounting of the $17k work, he refused to send it. When I asked him why the new installer claimed it was only $4k of work, he said they were lying. When I told him the SEO said the sand mound was not correct as he had claimed, he ghosted me. It seems to me he took on too much work, then instead of making things right, lied about the state of work, and under-refunded me.

Steel Penn Contracting…read more Hello all, I just want to express my gratitude for Steel Penn Contracting. I have hired them in the past for a few different projects, From pressure washing my house and deck to a few other construction projects.....But this time, they really saved me. During my bathroom remodel I discovered my toilet was leaking which created a rotten subfloor. Steel Penn Contracting showed up on a short timeframe and replaced my rotten sub floor at a very fair price and did a fantastic job! Now my tile guy can stay on his schedule! My only complaint is my own fault I wish they would have replaced the whole sub floor instead of just the rotten part considering it is more sturdy than what was there originally! When in doubt, call Steel Penn, they might just be able to save you too! Steel Penn Contracting Hardwick, NJ Fred White - Owner 973-459-1357 steelpenn.com
