When I finally got through they were not helpful in getting us into see them. I found Mission Veterinary Clinic and contacted them. They were able to get us scheduled with an appointment that same day and they ended up moving her appointment time up because they were concerned about her. Upon our arrival, the staff was helpful and welcoming. The vet tech that called me and attended to us was amazing and so compassionate. As well as the veterinarian. They discussed every result with us and walked us through some next steps. They didn't hesitate to answer any questions. Ultimately we were referred to Roadrunner Veterinary Services as a critical care overnight stay. From 7/20-7/21, I interacted with multiple staff and all of them were super helpful and kind. Even with my repeated phone calls almost every hour with questions or requests, they did not make me feel like I was overbearing and the veterinarian took time out of her busy day to talk on the phone with me to discuss my baby's condition and next steps. She was not rushing me, was patient even when I was emotional and let me know to call back if I still had questions. After some consultation on 7/21 with the veterinary staff at Roadrunner, they agreed to let me take my baby home to try some at home care. On 7/23, unfortunately she began to decline rapidly and I took her back to Roadrunner Veterinary. They took her back immediately and put us into a room. A veterinarian came in and let us know her condition and that it was time to seriously consider the hard decision of putting her to sleep. I said goodbye to my baby on July 23. I spent a total of 4 hours there that day getting to spend time with my baby for the last time and they did not rush me one bit. They put a notice on our door asking for quiet time as someone was saying goodbye. The young woman who asked the hard questions about what I wanted to do with my fur baby's remains was super compassionate and a great communicator. I recall having spoken to her when I was calling previously and she was compassionate then as well. I received more compassion and support from two different vets (Mission and Roadrunner) during one of my toughest life moments (that I have never been to) than from an established vet I had been going to for years.

We were expecting a wait as there sicker pets there, but we got back pretty quickly. Exam & x-ray and admitted. Our vet was upfront & informative. We got plenty of updates, proposed plan of care and plenty of options each step of the way. She came home minus stones. We were happy. I wouldn't have any problems taking our pets there or recommending them.

I mean what kind of urgent care doesn't accept walk ins? Come on Albuquerque vets get it together! Yikes! Anyways I was happy to get help right away as I was worried about my dog in the condition she was in. To be frank I was honestly avoiding this trip the previous couple days hoping the issue with my dog would resolve itself. Unfortunately by the 3rd day it appeared worse so I had to get my dog checked. Everything went great until they showed me the estimate for a diagnostic test. Oh boy that was a hard pill for me to swallow. Hesitantly I agreed to paying the bill. After about 3 hrs they were able to get a diagnosis and send me off with some stuff to help my dog. I am grateful to see my dog on the mend since my visit but the cost was hard to stomach. I honestly hope I don't need to bring her back in anytime soon cuz my wallet definitely can't bare the expense. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I am thankful to see my dogs health improve since our visit and I appreciate the help they provided us. I wouldn't mind returning I just wish it was a little more affordable.

He had had a very delicate operation to repair a tricky break in the tibia bone of his back right leg. They had installed a metal brace and screws and wire. Very expensive and extremely important to contain the cat so he would not harm the leg while it is healing. I had an out of state family funeral to attend and was in a panic. I googled something like post-surgery in home care in Santa Fe. Her website plus one other Pet Hospital came up. I reviewed her website, noticed how well it was designed with attention to detail (very important) and that she was licensed via the city of Santa Fe for animal care. I never even felt the need to review the other website. My cat, named Kitty, needed 24/7 care and someone with experience handling medications and delicate post-surgery care. I emailed her of my upcoming needs, as it was late on a Sunday and I needed to leave in 4 or 5 days. We spoke the next day and went over all my concerns. As we spoke it was so obvious that she was very experienced in the post-surgery needs of an animal. Additionally, she demonstrated a deep understanding of relating to the cats and dogs she takes care of. If you want to just have Irina go to your home and feed and water and clean up after your pets while you are away that is of course possible also. Irina sent me wonderful photos and reports everyday of Kitty. I felt completely confident that Kitty got excellent care and attention...complete with a heated rug his first day there to comfort him as he adjusted to this new environment. I could go on and on but don't want to make this any longer. In short, all pet owners in Santa Fe, are lucky to have Irina the Pet Angel of Santa Fe as an option for animal care when the need arises. Thanks, Irina for your love and devotion to my Kitty and all cats and dogs. Mary BB

One of our boys…read morefell ill very quickly and our primary vet sent over referrals across the city to have him seen as soon as possible. Thrive was the only one that squeezed us in on a Friday and I'm so grateful they were able to see us. It was outrageously expensive for some diagnostics (blood workup, ultrasound, fluids, etc.) which were probably a good 20-30% higher than what we usually pay. However, everyone was very friendly, the internist and techs were fantastic and they were very thorough with him. Dr. Ayoub pinpointed the issue and he needed to have surgery as soon as possible and no one in town was available until Tuesday and she was clear that he likely wouldn't make it until then. She and her team took it upon themselves and called the next nearest specialist clinics with Board certified surgeons for the procedure who could get him in ASAP and found us one outside of Denver which was the closest, got all the pertinent information from them such as estimate, a print out of the map, info, hours, number, etc. We packed up the car and hit the road to Denver within the hour. Without Dr. Ayoub and her team, the outcome would have been very different and I'm so grateful that there are truly stellar doctors that care. She was very communicative through the weekend and getting the necessary information to the Colorado clinic since my boy's surgery was early the next day (Saturday). A thank you just doesn't seem to fully capture how appreciative I am of the team that helped us, answered our questions, and really went the extra mile to ensure that my pup had the best possible care and outcome.

The vet tech then tried to sell us our dog needing an ultrasound for his live which is only mildly over normal readings. He then took him to be examined by by a new to us Vet. When the Vet came in to see us she said his liver count had actually improved. Our initial reason for going to Trivent over a year ago was to treat allergies that were causing him to lose hair. Our regular Vet there gave us the perfect prescription and the vet tech followed up regularly by email. Bottom line we were charged over $700 for a liver test and cursory exam of his hair. That was an all time record overcharge. Brian Schroeder

The staff was very caring and it was taken care of very humanely (with one of my girls, I didn't have the money and they told me just to bring in a bag of food when I can)! I took another one of my babies to the ASPCA to cross over-BIG MISTAKE, very inhumane. They did not sedate her-they just gave her the med to stop her heart! I could tell her final seconds were very painful. I often cry about this and tell my baby girl how sorry I am. My current baby was diagnosed with cancer last year and VCA has given exceptional care to him, even calling to see if he is doing well. Everyone there loves him! He is now ready to cross over and I hope Dr. Ryan (his "primary" vet) will be able to help him cross over. I know he will be less stressed if the vet "doing it" is someone he trusts (and I trust). I will probably be taking him in tomorrow to say goodbye. I won't be ready for another pet for a while (if ever). I am incredibly lost and broken right now. I Praise the Lord for the kind and caring staff at VCA. 2nd review posted on 06/24/26-my baby passed on the 18th: Well, my boy is gone! I'm so very broken, so very shattered and so very lost right now. VCA was so wonderful and Dr. Ryan is the one who helped him cross-over.
