I don't know which Italian families started the rumor of dime before going to Venice, but I'm here to tell you, it's just that. A rumor.
We discovered a locally enjoyed Trattoria that has literally the best lasagna I've ever had. If I could enjoy this every day, I would be there in a heartbeat.
The lasagna noodles, and all of the ingredients are all made in-house, and made in very small, limited quantities. The sauce, the béchamel, the pairing with the pasta is perfection. It's plated as if you were sitting in someone's kitchen, if not your own. It's not necessarily pretty to look at, but damn... When I tell you that this is the best lasagna I've ever had, it truly is. Even the bread that is routinely served, and by the way you are charged for it, not only is made in the house, but taste like love.
Many tourists seem to pass this place by, and it absolutely is enjoyed by locals and frankly, if you know you know. I'm here to tell you, this is a place you need to know.
The woman that was seated next to us, enjoyed a lovely, large salad, that she said she has every day, along with branzino. She said that they are her daily go to for meal, while she enjoys a glass of wine and reading a book. She praised us for discovering the restaurant, and she was tired of seeing locals that she knows lol.
Add this to your must try list when in Venice, Italy. The family that owns and runs this restaurant, scurries about as they are very attentive to keeping people moving in and out of the restaurant as needed, filling, glasses, bringing food to the tables, and keeping their customers happy. The father and son that were there, are really nice, and very welcoming!
