On our way to southern Italy, we decided to stay overnight in Rome, choosing a place near the…read moreairport. The apartment was located in Parco Leonardo, a large urban development project near Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport. Desco Tegami a Tavola e Griglia was nearby and seemed to be a popular spot among the locals. They serve traditional Roman and Italian cuisine, so we decided to try it, and it turned out to be a great decision. We didn't want to eat too much, so we shared a Caprese salad and a Margherita pizza. The service was good, and the atmosphere was comfortable. Since the weather was nice, we opted to sit outside. The cheese and tomatoes in the salad were delicious. The pizza was very good and sufficient for the two of us, and the house white wine gave me just the little buzz I needed to relax. We enjoyed our first meal in Italy and had the relaxing evening we needed after a 13-hour flight!
