Vik did not time to evaluate my assets. He listed funds held for beneficiaries as mine. He never answered his phone, he'd demand a time for him to call, but failed to do so. Few months ago he demanded another $3000 to 'be available' to talk. So I call him and his phone is "not in service", I send email and it is "nondeliverable". I do not think he is still in practice. Judge was so upset with his explanations of my situation that the Chapter 13 was dismissed. Vik claimed something good he'd done: "I got it dismisssed without prejudice" meaning you can re-file. This is my experience when I engaged the services of Vikrant Vik Chaudhry. My tenant owed me 6 months rent. I had to pay for her water-bill for that period of time as well. She had left the leaky dishwasher running (even though I could have fixed it, if only she had told me). The court system was clogged and would take about 3 months to evict her. In that stressful situation, I looked up the various attorneys and it looked like Vik Chaudhry's cost was OK, compared to that of others. I hired his services. He went about the paperwork. Almost immediately, it was rejected. I asked him to refile it. He did, after a lot of pushing and prodding. I even offered to help him out with the documentation for the other cases as I sensed that he either took too many cases or simply did not know how to file the documents or he didn't care to do it properly. Afterall, I had paid him in advance of offering his services. He declined. Since he is a seasoned law professional, my expectation was that he will file the PERFECT set of documents with the Civil Court. He did NOT. I gave him a break. He filed it again. Again, it was rejected. This happened two or three more times. Every single time, I had to call the court to get the status updates. Vik would NEVER call me proactively to tell me that the docs were rejected. He uses e-filing and he is the only one who gets notified. That was the beginning of his unprofessional attitude. Out of the blue, he threatened me to drop my case. I was concerned about this situation. Here I am - with my tenant owing me 10K in damages, 10K is back-rent and 4K in utility bills and this law "professional" Vik was making my life worse. This reject-I check status- plead with him to refile- rinse repeat went on several times.Since the past 1.5 years (18 months!), this has been going on. EVERY single time, I was kind enough to accommodate this guy's request when he said "I will do it this weekend". Submitting documentation to a court is an Attorney's bread and butter. They typically do this with their eyes closed. Not Vikran Vik Chaudhry. He started to give me personal reasons and I told him "I do not want to listen to any of your personal problems. Let us keep this professional, please" I should have read Dorain's, Anne K's and Mira L's review. They are all spot on. I see a pattern here. He charges a modest fee compared to others. I fell for it. He takes your money. NEVER does proper documentation. Again, last week I asked him as to why he keeps making silly mistakes in the eviction papers, he blackmailed me saying "I will file a motion to remove myself from the case". He then started to call me names. In writing! What should you, as a fellow-landlord do? (a) Seriously consider, if you want to go through the same experience I went through. Am I one of those unlucky few folks, who had to go through this process with Vik? No. Read Dorian's, Mira L and Anne's reviews, You will see a pattern emerge. The data is all there on Yelp (b) If you already are in the midst of the process with him, when he calls you, do not take his calls. Always consider emailing or texting him. This way, you have it in writing. I have lost almost 10,000$ because of this guy's indifference and lack of professional conduct. I will be reporting him to the California State Bar. I asked him "Why are you keeping my hard earned money, when you have not done what I paid you for". He called me names "idiot" "stupid" and threatened to sue me. I asked him "On what grounds?". The irony is he said he told me "Karma will catch up with you". Going through an eviction process in Tenant-friendly CA is a painful and exasperating process. STAY AWAY if you don't wanna waste your money and time! Bad experience as a landlord with this lawyer ever. Vik seems to lack knowledge in an eviction case with lack of communication for the party he supposedly represents. Unresponsive and treats us ignorantly. I understand that he did not have only us as his clients and our case was just a small case that he did not make much from us but still felt like maybe a total of a couple hours was only dedicated to us. Don't fall for his pitch when you are looking to hire a landlord tenant lawyer. All lawyers sound good at the beginning to get your money. Right after, he got our money - you will barely hear from him. You're lawyer, you should answer all questions that your client keeps asking either big/small case. Most importantly a lawyer should make his client he represents feel at peace and assured that everthing is being done and communicated well. We asked him to do background check of our un-paid tenant, he never found out - we had to keep asking same questions over and over! One time, we sent him on Thursday/Friday early, waited over the weekend till Monday late, never heard from him. I have contacted VC law group regarding a unique case I had in my contracting business. The reason I needed help was because my customer did not want to pay for the work we have done and I needed advice on what to do next. Without advising me on my incomplete contract, Vik said he will write a letter to my client and ask for payment. This was going to cost 500 and I agreed right away because he was very optimistic. As the time went by and layers were communicating with each other, I was advised on producing mechanical lean and it's going to cost additional 2500 plus fees that come with filing such a case. I wrote the check and was hoping for the best at this point. it turn out that my contract did not have a specific cancelation information and I had no legal right to collect after all. I wish VC knew that and told me from beginning but instead they took payments and proceeded with filing paperwork. Some partial refund was given back to me but I was not happy about the entire process and handling of my case from the beginning. If I would only pay for a consultation and was told that I had no right to collect, I would have removed our equipment and materials right away saving me money and embarrassment in front of the client that had more knowledgable attorney. Unfortunately VC did not know those details from the beginning and result was the same as it was going to be if I did not turn to attorney for help. Just now I'm out of more money and did not look good in my attempt to recover payment. I would not recommend VC for business matter in construction. In the future I would get more than one advice but really hope to avoid legal complications all together. read more

We needed help when our landlord Roger Herman turned into a complete ass after we provided notice to him that we were not extending the lease and moving. Roger started showing up without notice or improper notice in order to make arrangements to list the house for sale. The last straw was when Roger demanded from us that we hire professional cleaning prior to his photo session for the house (the house was very clean and we do use professional cleaning).
