These people take advantage of you in your time of grief. I was quoted one price on 3 separate calls, then after I signed the contract, the price not only doubled, but tripled. After protesting and threatening to take action, there was suddenly a "change" which allowed for a significant price reduction. LIVE STREAMING WEBCAST (AUDIO QUALITY) Very disappointed in the live streaming service that was held for a long time family friend of ours. The audio was horrible and we were unable to catch most of the words of the service. We had to call in constantly during the service to ask them to fix it. In the end I had to message someone attending the service to go speak to the funeral home about correcting the issue. We caught only the introductory song and the last bit of the ending message. There was a person named Paula whom always seemed irritated and was very unpleasant to speak to. HOURS OF OPERATION They are also advertised to be open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. We used a well reputable florist company to deliver flowers a day before the service. The florist told us that they were unable to deliver due to the funeral home being closed. I was in shock and worry took over. Ultimately they were able to deliver it but it was THE DAY/MORNING OF THE SERVICE. It was delivered by 9am to be exact, which was 1 hour prior to the service beginning. LIVE STREAMING WEBCAST (VISUAL & TECHNICAL ISSUES) Be mindful about how this funeral home tells you that the loved ones of the deceased will be able to record videos to play during the service. They seem to want you to provide your own equipment and supplies for it to run smoothly (flash drive and laptop). Pay close attention to this here, if this is what you are planning to have so that the experience is not ruined. The pre-recordings should be put unto a flash drive (so they say). We were watching the service from another state and were robbed of the opportunity to see and hear our heartfelt letters that we wrote to our dear friend and the family. The live streaming video cut out for 30 minutes while they were being played (not sure if the videos were even really played at this point until I get the chance to ask). I called the funeral home to ask about the live streaming interruption and they said that this is normal because the family was unable to provide them with a flash drive containing the videos. Therefore, the family needed to use the funeral home's computer and internet which they say interrupts the live stream and explains why it cut out. Which really made no sense because this video was sent directly to the funeral home's email. In this day and age I was surprised to see they had an issue with live streaming and pre-recorded videos when that is commonly used these days across streaming platforms everyday. I honestly think that they could've just streamed everything from an iPhone at this point. This hurt a lot however because my mom was so close to her and our letters/videos was our last opportunity to say goodbye. But I hope that she heard it and that the family did as well. I honestly never seen anything worse than this. This was so unorganized and careless service. I imagine they were paid a lot to do this and it couldn't be done right. Unfortunately, in her grief , my cousin signed a contract to utilize Vaughn Greene Funeral Services prior to discussing the selection with the family. Everything that could go wrong was wrong. We were so disappointed with so many aspects of the day - how they presented my auntie - rushing through the funeral service - the overpriced programs were not professionally prepared - the musician was absolutely awful - the drive to the cemetary was horrible . The lead car did not take into consideration the family members were following, we were almost involved in multiple accidents including a tractor trailer almost running into us - the service at the gravesite was not dignified and was very disorganized The saving grace was the clergy, he delivered a beautiful eulogy. My best friend of 39 years family used this funeral home for her services. My initial impressions of this business was not good. I ordered a standing spray to be at the viewing on 10/31/21 and for the services on Monday. Smooth transaction ordering, however when I called on Saturday to confirm that my arrangement was there because the florist is closed on Sundays. The representative looked and advised me that my arrangement was not there. However, there was one there but not with my card attached. I was livid since I live in Georgia and unable to attend the service's and or correct this issue from here until Monday when the florist would be open. The next issue I have with the level of service provided to these young men. The skipped over the acknowledgments from her friends, co-workers and extended family. Many of her family and friends were watching virtually due to Covid restrictions. The flower cards were not acknowledged so the son's would know who sent what and know their mother was loved by many. The pastor made it even worst by not giving the family a decent eulogy befitting this young woman's life. She was more than just a member of that church and her boy's needed that support to get them through this difficult time. There were 13 flowers a minute could have been givin to show respect. Instead, you just gave them the card's. I later learned from Mrs. McMiller that this is your policy. Well, sometimes things should be altered to fit the occasion. Younger people may not have the same understanding of the how you direct a funeral. But that is why you meet with them to explain the setup. And by means follow the program as printed. This whole service lacked the celebration of her life! In closing, a lavender spray that looked like mine was drapped on the casket. The spray that was purchased for the casket which was in red next to the casket on the floor.No one has yet to call me regarding where my arrangement went, once it was received by Vaughn Greene on Saturday. Below see the standing spray that was left at the York Rd location. Notice the red floral arrangement on the floor next to my arrangement. That was sent by the same florist to be used as the casket spray. It was ordered by one her son's specifically since her favorite color was red and it matched her dress. Wonderful site, amenities and customer service provided. Sadly had to visit 2 days in a row to pay respects to 2 individuals and visiting Vaughn Greene Funeral Home definitely made both visits bearable. 1st visit was in their chapel for a memorial service that went well. Plentiful and comfy seating options, clean rows and a quality sound system. After memorial service, we relocated to their hall downstairs (or around the corner). Very spacious, clean (w kitchen area), tastefully set up food and seating tables, etc. 2nd visit took place for a viewing and was in their building next door / same property. Very comforting, well designed rooms, spacious halls and viewing rooms. Prayerfully this is a service that will never be needed. Realistically it probably will be and Vaughn Greene Funeral Home will definitely be considered. read more

We had to bury my grandmother back in September and Vaughn Greene was nothing but amazing. They were very helpful and made the process less stressful and easy for us. Some services were pricey, such as makeup, obituaries, and a public viewing, so we had a family friend do makeup and we had to do the obituaries ourselves. They allowed the family to have a private viewing a day before the funeral. They handled so much during the church service and made things so smoothly. Over the years, we've had several members of our family funeralized at Vaughn Greene and I've always spoken very highly of this establishment. However that is all in the past. My family will no longer use the services of Vaughn Greene Funeral Home again! I had a sister who was funeralized on 01/11/2023 and it was one of the worst experiences of our lives. My sister passed peacefully in her sleep yet she looked absolutely nothing like herself. And my sister was beautiful. My niece prepared a video tribute for my sister but they didn't play it. They told us they couldn't find the flash drive my niece had provided them. My niece provided them with a second flash drive she had in her possession. They then told her that we needed to provide them with a laptop and HDMI cord. What exactly did we pay them thousands of dollars for? My nephew has his own business and just so happen to have his HDMI cord and laptop that he uses for his business. My niece supplied those items to Vaughn Greene. As I'm sitting in the chapel I'm getting text messages from relatives from at least 4 states asking when they'll be able to logon to see the service. My eldest sister informed them of the issue and was informed they had experienced a power outage and the live stream didn't work, in addition to the video tribute. When was someone going to be professional and transparent and let my family know the issues they claimed to have instead of lying and making excuses. Oh, and let's not forget the minister we paid for arrived late. In addition, we found the administrative/office staff to be Exceptionally rude. We later learned from a source not affiliated with Vaughn Greene that the business is no longer being run by the original owners. That would explain a great deal. "The Love of money..." In closing, I'd strongly urge those considering using the services of Vaughn Greene to talk with people who have used their services within the last 6-12 months. I went to my cousins husband funeral service on June 17 at the Randallstown location, and was totally appalled of the service. Of all of the unprofessionalism I could ever think of, but the KICKER was, my cousin was at her husband grave looking at the casket, and the director of the funeral last words while everyone was standing around was "I hope Vaughn Green services met your satisfaction" 1. if you knew you put forth the best service you could, you would not have to ask that question.2. The lack of sensitivity of asking the family that stupid question, while they are at the height of their grieving, and while others are standing around. When I found out she was using ghetto greens service, I told her it was a big mistake. We used the York road location for my nephew service in 2014 and they all were rude, nasty and talked down to the family. I would never recommend VG to anyone I know. A freakin' horror story. Seriously! I wouldn't recommend this funeral home to handle your love one's affairs even if someone paid me. It's just not worth it. When I tell this story people are always like ... no way! That did not happen and I'm like Oh Hell Yeah it did. To start, this incident happened almost one year ago to date. October 2016. October 2016, my sweet and loving Grandmother passed away. To be honest, my entire family wanted to have March's funeral home do the service but they were booked. Vaughn C. Greene came second recommended. They too were pretty full. My grandmother passed away early on a Saturday morning. We called March, they couldn't get us in within the next week or so. We called Vaughn Greene, they too said they couldn't get us in until about 10-12 days later. I explained I lived on the West Coast and since I'm in town assisting family with services now I'd really, really like to get the services going sooner because I couldn't stay in Baltimore for 2 weeks. They found a way to get us in about 6 days later. Perfect! Making the arrangements were pretty simple. Paperwork process was easy, picking out the casket, flowers, etc ... all a breeze. We just knew the funeral service was going to be handled beautifully. We just knew it! Wrong ... just wrong! This is where everything went left! We showed up a day before the funeral (right before the wake) to view my grandmother's body and make sure everything was as we hoped and wish. Immediately upon walking into the chapel, my heart dropped. The woman lying in the casket at the front of the chapel was NOT my grandmother. I knew this immediately because this woman had a huge hat on and a purple dress. My grandmother didn't wear church hats and we purchased her an all-white dress just the day prior. I walked closer, the casket was my grandmothers for sure, the accessories on the woman (earrings and necklace) were my grandmothers but the dress on the woman and the body in the casket was NOT my grandmothers. I contacted the woman that we've been working with for the last few days to explain what's going on. With great regret she apologized and told us she'd get everything situated right away. Right away took about 1 hour and a half. During that time, the other family (the family of the woman in my grandmother's casket) started coming in. I explained what happened, they were furious. My grandmothers body and casket was moved from the chapel to the viewing area with the other family. It was packed in there! Literally, packed with both families and friends. It was embarrassing and I couldn't help but feel like this was such a careless mistake. I knew from the beginning that they were pretty busy with funerals every single day but they still took us. We didn't expect anything but great service, regardless of how busy you are. The whole incident is something I never want to remember but can't forget how I felt walking into the chapel for the first time and seeing another woman lying in my grandmother's casket. I don't wish that situation on anyone. After the funeral service, the limo driver didn't bother waiting for everyone else before pulling off and handing to the cemetery so guess what the rest of us had to do. Went to pay my last respects to a church member on yesterday. I have to say that this is the first time in my life that I have went to pay respects to a person that I was dissatisfied by what I saw. Don't get me wrong the workers there were very nice and that's why I gave them two stars. This was the first time I had been in this chapel to view a body. There was a nice amount of room. I arrived at 5pm so the crowd had not yet started to flow in. However as I approach the casket I truly did not feel like she looked anything like herself. It really made me wish that I would have remembered her as I saw her the last time in church. Which it had been some time because I'm guilty of not attending church for some time. As I sit here and type this review my personal opinion was that her appearance was not acceptable.The make-up job was horrible. Way too much and it was smeared. She looked much older than her actual age. She did have on a beautiful blue dress but, I just could not get pass the fact that she looked nothing like herself to the point it didn't feel like it was her I was viewing. Vaughan C Greene at 5151 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD 21229 provided subpar services for my loved one. I am giving them 1 star for the following reasons: My loved ones hands and face were dark grey (makeup fixed face but not hands); her hat was placed on her head wrong; they switched the coffin without permission; the microphone appeared off for most of the service; the funeral Director lied to my face about placing in the green bag the makeup and edge control that I requested three times be returned to me and when we the family arrived for the service, the director told us to line up but didn't tell us the order. The funeral Director did not tell us that live streaming was included in our package, she made it seem like there was a few for it. She also told us that we didn't have to distance ourselves yet on day of service the director sat us in every other row. Also the director sat the grandchildren and nieces and nephews in the 3rd and 5th tows on one side leaving the front rows on the other side open for whomever, as he explained when I asked him about it. Does it make sense to sit visitors and friends on front row in front of the wrong casket and seat the deceased's grandchildren three rows from the casket? Please for goodness sake don't lie to paying customers, learn your craft and get a clue. These people are all about the money and are so disorganized. It appears that someone stole or misplaced a large bag of make up nail polish and hair products (i.e. foundation, two lipsticks, eye brow pencil, eyeliner, a lip liner, nude nail polish, edge control, etc.) and lied about giving it back. The funeral home did not use any of her makeup, polish or hair products but yet they could not return the items and then lied that they had. You have to be pretty low down to steal from the dead. If I were you, I would take my business and my loved one some place other than 5151 Baltimore National Pike.
