It was decent, providing a mild and edible baseline, but nothing memorable. * **Kadhai Paneer:** Marketed as a house specialty, yet it completely missed the mark. Tasty Indian Food, But Beware Of Spiciness…read more My wife & I went here for lunch after a long drive down from Ucluelet. Here's what we ordered and how I'd rate each item on a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being best: Tandoori Naan Butter (6): More greasy than buttery, and not very flavorful. Garlic Cilantro Naan (7): Subtle garlic flavor, but tasty. Gobhi Garlic (8): Recommended by the waiter. Very tasty, with a great texture, though I could've used a bit more garlic flavor. Chicken Tikka Masala (7): Good flavor, but not enough chicken. Also, despite asking for the mildest spiciness, it still made my scalp sweat. Butter Chicken (9): Delicious! Tasted exactly the way it was supposed to, with a rich, thick creamy tomato sauce. Highly recommend. I'm giving them 4 stars because I'm rounding up from what I think they deserve, which is 3 1/2 stars. Overall, their food was good, service was prompt & friendly, and their prices were very reasonable making them a good value.

Seated prop promptly and all questions answered. The non-alcoholic ginger lemonade iced tea is very good. You can order extra ginger for it too! No complimentary refills on it sadly... While waiting for the noms (and naan) to arrive, I took in the subtle charm that of Varsha. It's clean, organized, bright from natural light but not overly. Lunch was at first view kitchen of small, but that was my brain vs. stomach. While there could have been more protein in the main dishes, I did leave satisfied to the point I couldn't eat any more. And every bite was delicious. I'm looking forward to visiting Victoria again and thinking Varsha will be another delicious lunch stop. Check them out. Authentic and delicious.

I will talk about what we liked- lassi and daal rice were good. The kid enjoyed it. 4/5. The malai chicken starter was good too. It was not the best but tasted well and liked that it came with some salad. 3.5/4 Now we ordered fish in Goan curry. The curry flavor was okay but it was quite on salty and tangier side. They sent it with chicken instead of fish. 2.5/3. We didn't go inside but saw many people walking in. I wouldn't recommend delivery as they seem to have mess up things.

We had a high bar because we had just gone to an Indian restaurant in Chicago that was over the top good. Sizzling Tandoor met that bar. It was just as good as Chicago. Many reviews mentioned the Rogan Josh Lamb so we ordered that and balanced it off with Chicken Tikka Masala. We each ate half of each entree. A side of plain Naan completed the meal. We like hot food and we're going to order hot, but our server, Muskan, convinced us to get medium hot. It was perfect. Muskan was attentive but didn't hover. She engaged us in a nice convo after our meal and was very pleasant. The most difficult part was deciding which we liked better. The lamb won, but only by a small margin. Both were excellent.

I'd read about this new place in the Whidbey Times, and am glad I did because it's extra special…read more I'm a longtime fan of Indian cuisine, but have never had food from the far south, in Kerala (actually, I hadn't heard of Kerala until tonight). Delicious. It's tiny and takeout only, but good things come in small packages, and this is proof. The owner/chef, "Unni," went out of his way to explain the ingredients, history, and culture, while providing tasty samples of everything. He clearly takes pride in what he does, and I'll be coming back a LOT. I don't know if they're there all the time, but his two delightful children were playing while I waited, and once they got over their shyness, they couldn't have been more entertaining. They insisted on pasting stickers on their dad's face, which he wore proudly. Lots of fun. Fortunately for me, Unni serves many meat dishes (beef, pork, chicken) in addition to vegetarian fare, so there's something for everyone. They even offer three kinds of rice! I see some complaints about the food being bland, but that wasn't my experience...quite the opposite. Lots of intriguing spices! Check it out yourself. Oak Harbor needs places like this!

As per the descriptions I read of this, the spices are subtle and mild unless you ask for extra heat. Which suites my taste. The vegetarian curry had a variety of vegetables and spices + choice of 3 vegetable dishes. My carrot, broccoli and beet choices were each special subtle and full flavors. Came with a mango yogurt and chutney and a crunchy garnish too. I upgraded my rice to Chamba which has a more interesting flavor and texture and I also ordered Raita extra because I love this tangy veggie-herb yogurt side. It all hit the spot and I would go back again next time I'm in the area. The container has to be handled carefully since two of the dishes were quite soupy but you could also order a sturdier cup in a larger serving. The owner was super friendly and also offered me little tastes of a couple other dishes while I decided. (It was a non busy early afternoon time) These include a couple meat options also available and were very good also. Easy parking, on north end of the town.

The food here is great! The dosas were lovely. Dosas are like thick crepes made from chickpea flour so it's great for gluten free people. We had the South India combo and the butter chicken dosa. Both were very nice. We also ordered the beef madras which was my favorite. I like a good curry and the ladder was very nice and not too hot at a medium spice level. We also had sukka coffee with a nice ginger flavor and tasted like a wee bit of sugar in it. My friend, fancies it and it was delicious. We had asked for that to come out before dinner and it came out about halfway through. But that takes a while to make and better ill-timed coffee than cold food. The food as it was was delicious and piping hot. The staff here is very sweet and helpful. Very kind with explanations of the meals and Indian geography and history. We got a little lesson, which we both loved. I would absolutely return to Dosa Paragon!
