She then proceeded to tell me how much of an overbite I had and it's not guaranteed braces would fix it. She also rudely said I have a speech impediment and I needed to go to speech therapy!! Sometimes it can be a difficult process when trying to match with a dental office that you can call…read more'permanent.' There are a lot of things that consider, but also many industry tricks that can throw a person off course. Not here. This practice is exactly what I hoped for: - No gimmicks like offering customers potential awards for a 5-star review. - No tricks like saying they accept insurance, while they are not on that provider's 'preferred' list. - No whacky photographers taking pictures of your teeth just as you show up. - No gimmicky office tours with gifts for nice reviews. - No tricks to make make a person spend more money than they have to. Yes, those things and more happened at another dental practice, so I was hesitant. Bogey Hills Dental was great to me. The Dr. and staff were extremely efficient and made the work seem like they could do it with their eyes closed. It was a real relief to find this practice. Their work turned out great, and I look forward to going here for a long time to come. Honesty, integrity, and friendliness is what I found here. Thank you BHD!

I just wanted to leave some advice for the patients. I was not a great patient. I turned 30 and started getting gaps in my teeth and thought Invisalign would be an easy fix. You have to consistently wear your Invisalign, almost all day and all night. It can be really painful and annoying and easy to just take your trays out and forget about them. And you need to use your chewys so the tray fits right on your teeth. I was so embarrassed for every appointment because I now know, I do not handle teeth pain well, and I would just take my tray out and tell myself I would put it back in later. Then a day would go by and I'd try to put the tray back in and my teeth would shift already and it would not fit, so I'd have to go back a tray or two and basically start over. I also would take the trays out in my sleep!!! Your teeth shift so much faster than you'd think! At my appointments, I could feel the disappointment on everyone. I'm sure it's frustrating to have to keep doing adjustments and order more trays for patients. I should've been a quick 29 weeks, but I had to pay another $600 for an extra adjustment almost 2 years later, I am finally getting a permanent retainer. And I don't think my teeth are as perfect as Dr. Shapiro hoped, but my gaps are gone and I am happy. And I've heard Dr. Shapiro tell patients that they have to wear their trays or things weren't going to work out. So, I know I'm not the only patient that has been a sort of Invisalign fail. I guess, my advice is go with braces. It will just be easier. Or truly truly commit to wearing the Invisalign and using the chewys. In any case, Dr. Shapiro and his team are so great. I definitely recommend them!
