Received an email from Matthew P. right after placing my order notifying me of the milling defects on the frame on the best one they had in stock (with pictures attached in an email from him), and wanted to know how I'd like to proceed. I notified Springfield Armory about the issue and the firearm in question was sent back to S.A. (before heading my way). Matthew spoke with my wife and took care of the defective SA-35 being sent to Springfield Armory immediately. I called S.A. every week they had it for updates, and they decided to replace the SA-35 in question and send it back to Grady's and then to my FFL. Once received at Grady's, Matthew made a point to get my SA-35 from the loading dock the day it arrived at Grady's, looked it over for any issues, and immediately sent it to my FFL next day air after giving it a thumbs up. Matthew P. went above and beyond in customer service to ensure this customer was accommodated (being a disabled veteran on a limited income). I can't say thank you enough to Matthew P. for all he did to have a happy customer!

I realize you have to drive up a dirt road west of the Belk shopping center. Look at my picture for the road. It is not a difficult find, but could be confusing for a first-timer. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly dog and a hospital person behind the counter. The location had a small selection of outdoor equipment, but for the size of the store, I thought they did a tremendous of showing a variety of outdoor selection. I was recommended to this store to find climbing equipment and was disappointed in not finding any, but no fault of the store. I noticed that the store had a selection of disc-golf equipment. When I plan to pick up the sport, this would definitely be my first stop. The employees working at the store were top notch in helping me in finding other locations that would have the climbing equipment. I would definitely be back based on their excellent customer service.

I say this even though I have an acquaintance that works at another shop and I don't want to take anything away from her or their store, but Appalachian Outfitters has the right idea when it comes to customer service, product selection and staffing. First, the staff at Appalachian Outfitters all are avid outdoors women/men, so they know what they are talking about. You never run into that sales person who you ask about a product and they stare at you as if you've just asked about the compound makeup of the sun. They have REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE with products and they are HONEST. They will tell you which products are truly technical products and which are just for show around town. They will tell you about their direct experience with clothing or gear. It's not just a guess or what the marketing for the product is, it's the real world scenarios that you can't get by reading a label. Their customer service is absolutely, hands down, top notch. If you have an issue or a question or a concern about a product, they go out of their way to help you resolve it or find a product that works better. Finally, they have just expanded their services and offered a free workshop which I attended last week and they offered a totally free, no strings attached learning seminar. Open to questions and afterwards provided a 10% coupon for the store. Are they pricey? Heck yeah. No more expensive than any outfitter for the gear that they are selling. Do they try to provide American Made products? YES! I love this about them. Not only do they search out and carry the best gear in the world but they go beyond and try to find the best gear that's made right here in the USA! I can't say enough.. I have been and will continue to go to them for all my outdoor gear that I can possibly get through them. Their qualities are hard to find in any other stores around (in general and in outfitters).
