Beautiful day in Berlin gurantees a line for the best ice cream in town. And we waited patiently like law abiding citizens... which gave me time to decipher the flavors in german. Apparently 'zimnt' is not mint, but cinnamon. After much indecision, I went with a scoop of their infamous Black Lemon and another of their flavor-of-month (pistacio, hazelnut, cherry). Scoops were small... cone was black. Black was deligjtfully tangy, and if I'm guessing correctly, the color is from charcoal which is good at getting toxins out. Important note about black ice creams - what goes in must come out. Personally I liked my cousin's pistachio (creamier) and loved her blueberry cheesecake (comes with cake bits) better than my own selections, but I don't discriminate... By far the BEST ice cream shop in Berlin. Not only are the scoops LARGE and generous, but the taste is fantasttttiiic. Many of my friends will vouch this as their favorite as well! 1€ a scoop, beat that! They make many amazing flavors, including: Pistachio / Sicilian Pistachio Lemon & Basil various chocolate flavors, berry flavors.. etc etc. Label this as a MUST TRY. Plus it's right next to Mustafa's Gemuse Kebap so you can hit two awesome places with one stone. No inside seating so many people sit outside around the shop and eat. Lots of delicious-sounding flavors on the menu here, though I only come for the vegan mint chocolate. Otherwise, I find the vegan selection of sorbets is not terribly exciting. This place can definitely get super busy on a hot day; we recently waited in line a good 15 or so minutes to be served. However, the mint chocolate was worth it, in my opinion. A bit on the pricy side though (comparatively speaking), so be warned. A scoop will set you back €1,30 here, whereas most other spots in town are €1-€1,20. Not a huge difference, but something worth noting. They also have ice cream available for taking home with you, though that also costs a pretty penny as well. read more

One of my fave ice cream spots in Berlin. Love the new vegan chocolate mint flavor which matched the pear sorbet just fine. Love that all their sorbets are vegan friendly and that they have more than 2 sorbets to choose from then most places ;) You can either take a seat just in front or take the ice cream and go for a stroll along Bergmannstraße or the nearby Park. Only advice sometimes you have to be a bit more patient as the queue can be quite long but hey it's so worthy to wait and good things sometimes take a bit more time! read more

Just a few hundred yards from this sensational coffee place (see my review) there is this fantastic ice cream parlor. Handmade in Berlin, and most of the flavours taste even better than the original fruit or spice. The mango ice cream for example is like a heavenly bath in a pool of mangos, same goes for raspberry sorbet and all that jazz. There's one more place in Mitte called Eismanufaktur that's equally good so wherever you live, go check 'em both out. read more

Not the best ice cream I've ever had, but a scoop of anything in a cone back home in the States costs way more. I wish it were a little creamier (I agree with the reviewer that says it's a little watery), but the scoops are generous and the ice cream itself quite fresh. I'm well aware that I'm rocking the boat here, but I was unimpressed with my Vanille & Marille experience. I had one scoop of straciatella (essentially chocolate chip) on a waffle cone, and I have had better ice cream from grocery store cartons. The flavor was underwhelming, and the cream was little watery. I'm not sure if I should have tried a more adventurous flavor, but I wouldn't recommend this to a friend. read more

We tried several gelato places nearby but always feel terrible after eating it. Not here. The ice cream is really good, high-quality and has unique flavors mixed with your favorites. I read several reviews that said it was watery, but I wouldn't say that at all. It's not gelato, it's ice cream. And it's delicious. Eat here- you won't regret it. I'm more of a gelato type girl so maybe that could explain why I wasn't wild about this place. It wasn't bad, but it just couldn't compare to my favorite gelato shop. I had the strawberry mascarpone (which tasted like strawberry sorbet to me) and the mixed berry with chocolate crunchies. Pretty good! I also had a try of the salted caramel and thought that this was much much better than the fruity flavors I had. Try salted caramel and peanut + brownies!

It's located in a small place with one bench outside. I went there on Sunday but there was not a really long queue, probably because of the weather. It costs 1.60 EUR each scoop in waffle cone or cup. My friends and I tried some different flavors - belgian chocolate, stracciatella (my fave), caramel, and mokka (make sure you like cinnamon because it has coffee and cinnamon taste in it). All in all, the ice cream is great because each one has deep flavor. The caramel one even taste like melted cold caramel to me. I heard the place gets very busy during summer time, so check it out soon if you're curious. read more

I had the blueberry cheesecake and chocolate brownie. The blueberry cheesecake was way too sweet there was no tanginess that comes with a cheesecake. The chocolate brownie I struggled to find the chocolate brownie bits, was like vanilla ice cream sprinkled (very lightly) with cookie bits. I was astounded that the ice cream itself cost one price 1,60 but there are flavours that cost 30 cents more (written in very small letters next to the ice cream flavour). I found this to be almost like a criminal act...where you are told it costs one price and then there is a ''small added fee''.Also, there are no children sized ice creams...for a place that is close to 4 KITAs and one primary school I found this to be a bit arrogant. Definitely ''hipster'' ice cream where the experience is just not worth the price. If you need a better experience just jump the channel, Fräulein Frost offers the same variety of flavours for less price and a bigger kugel. The general atmosphere is better here too plus they have Mango lassi eis without the weird 30 cent add on price... read more
