Just know that, VANGUARD.COM BROKERAGE INVESTMENT is a for profit entity that like many others, play a joke on investors. Lying is a natural habit of theirs. Brokers are nothing more than people who are paid, who make a profit out of you. There's no reason for them to be bothered by your investment concerns or helpful when a person risks losing money in the investment world. The worst thing about brokers, like VANGARD brokers is that, they profit even when you loose. For example, they'll encourage you to buy shares, to hold, to profit by trading more they say. And more, they'll sometimes try to encourage you, either with guidance, or humor. Either way, as long as you borrow their money, they'll profit from it. And, if the stocks go down, automatically, they'll give you a notice, "add more personal money, like transfer from your personal bank, or we'll sell some shares you bough at a price is currently down". That happened to me frankly. And it has happened to many others I've spoken with. Like VANGUARD.COM BROKERAGE INVESTMENT, other brokerage groups do and say the same thing. They all do it for a profit, to lend you money, and thereby, taking control of your assets. What you need to know is that, the moment you borrow from them, their margins, MARGINS MONEY, you are hooked. They control you, and they don't give a damn about your long term goals, your futures, your hopes and expectations. The naturally do it so often that they take your quests, and statements for a joke. They'll willingly sell any shares they want, and you have no saying in the matter, you don't stand a chance to oppose them. Shares go up and down, we all know that. But, in the margins system, you are the fool the moment you think you can trust them. Funny, honest, and with purpose in mind: Believe it or not, I called the margins call staff. And I stated that I held a group shares, TSLA, SPCE, and SAVE. Now, of course, stocks began to go down, and my margins call appeared. I CALLED and CONVERSED with VANGUARD.COM/BROKERS INVESTMENT MARGINS staff. So, I made it clear and they said, yeah, I agree. My stated to them was, "I hold shares of TSLA for 11 months, and I am quite confident that TSLA is going up even further - price was 724." I said "If there is a margin call due in a few days, can you please add a note in my account, wherein I make it my preference to sell my SPCE or SAVE shares. I made a profit out of both. I am a bit above. But, either way, I keep trading them. Please sell my SPCE or SAVE if there is a Margin Call. That guy, broker made it clear to me, "SURE, I AM WRITING IT DOWN, HOLD ON". A few days later, shares went down, and the margin call appeared. Then, guess what, my shares for TSLA where sold. What happened, why did you guys sell my shares. Didn't you guys read my request, to sell either SAVE or SPCE, I am not loosing too much, and I am ok with that if needed. The response was "there is no notice of your preference, and no one wrote anything. And it is our choice to sell any shares we want." Again, TSLA is now 1100 bucks. I am out of possible 25 thousand gains. And no-one seems to give a damn about that joke wherein the guy told me to wait, he would write my preference in the notes where any other broker could read. There was no reason to sell my shares of TSLA. how ever, if they sell TSLA, there would be a greater profit for themselves. Don't forget, some shares have a larger gain by selling. read more

A firm for masochists. This alleged financial services firm should not be licensed to operate; almost nothing they say is reliable, transparent, or consistent. Vanguard repeatedly sent mail, including legally required prospectuses, to the wrong address, for six weeks after I had verified my change of address. That might have been excusable if Vanguard's response were not so appalling, piling negligence on top of negligence, completely misrepresenting what occurred, and overtly lying about the matter to evade taking any responsibility. They do not (and cannot) deny my address had been updated in mid-July, and that materials were sent to the wrong address in mid-September. The supervisor I spoke with was either grossly negligent or lied to my face by claiming mail sent to my old address was only "marketing materials." I made special trips (weeks after the fact) to my old address and retrieved the items sent there erroneously. The supervisor claimed she verified that all the mail sent to me was marketing material, but I had opted out of all such marketing, and never received any marketing mail from Vanguard before. And as I suspected when we spoke, these were all in fact prospectuses for my funds, legal documents the firm is required to send to my correct address in a timely fashion, and to all holders of the fund at the same time. This was typical of dealing with Vanguard; they behave with gross negligence and then lie about it and take no responsibility. (Vanguard later contradicted itself and admitted the materials were prospectuses, but actually claimed Vanguard has no obligation to send any mail to the correct address and I could just look up materials on line). I tried to send the original USPS scans of the mail and photos of the retrieved mail. Vanguard's response is appalling--it not only failed to update my address and gave ridiculous excuses (third party companies that handle its mail), it further misrepresented what was sent, which is appalling. Vanguard has, typical of its behavior in many instances, accepted no responsibility for this matter at all and has consistently lied about it. I have spent over five hours dealing with its negligence, and failed to move funds as I would have as a result of not getting their required documents. read more

Have you ever seen a village idiot? You know, he's sitting in a traffic island, drooling, smiling and babbling to himself. Have you ever seen a diabolical computer programmer? He's sitting at a computer with a list of human behavioral statistics and another list of goals and he's pounding away at the keyboard, drooling and laughing to himself as he creates web pages designed to get you to spend money, give up your privacy or both. Both of these individuals have been employed by Vanguard Group to design their website. One particular page, probably designed by both, has a hyperlink that refers back to the originating page! I'm not sure which designed the pages shown below. Two demonstrate what happens when you type in the website's search bar for "Phone Number" (you get page that asks you "What do you want to do today?" Do you type: "Well, you dumb cretin, how about I want to call Vanguard?" or do you type: "Hey, how about selling me some bonds." Some companies make their money by supplying easy apps that let you buy just the things you want as quickly as you can type or click. Others hire village idiots and diabolical programmers. Vanguard, in my opinion, is the latter. read more

I believe that Vanguard is available promptly if you are prepared to start an account. I was changing ownership of an inheritance ira and given incomplete information and deceptive information about how V would help me. They then used the incompletely filled form to cash out all of my money and since then, over two weeks ago, I have had no check arrive. By the way, all other correspondences from them have take a few days at most. They are, I believe using my money for their secondary gain. I have filed a complaint against V with FINRA and my state's Attorney General's office. V seems to think that no consequences are there for it. I believe that by filing one complaint at a time, there is a way for V's practices to be reviewed by a third party agency that can pack a responsibility punch to V. But we have to do so. Greedy companies like V do not respect the responsibility of the fiduciary relationship with its clients. I have read too many instances of this happening. We must be more proactive to hold V and companies like it to respect our needs, and not just use us for their own. It takes just a small amount of time to file the complaints above. read more

2015 - Vanguard is the last place to invest and work in - Will be moving as much as I can out of there ASAP - the management is of extremely poor quality compared to Blackrock, Fidelity, Merrill, Schwab, etc. which are far superior to the management at Vanguard, especially Brokerage which is a super joke! You get what you pay for and all the other firms aside from Vanguard give you what you pay for!!!! Now that's integrity! '.....At the end of the day, by choosing to invest your money with Vanguard, you are paying very little, and receiving performance and service commensurate with that cost. http://www.appletreewealthmanagement.com/general/why-vanguard-sucks/...' Vanguard leaders have extremely poor communication skills on all levels, mostly from the inept upper management that cannot speak or write full sentences - primarily in Retail Services. read more

(1 star only b/c none are not an option here). Stay away---or risk at the very least agita. At the most----let's don't even go there. I'm too tired and stressed from dealing with their 'customer service' reps today and on other days with their repeated moronic security questions and other ineptitude and genius ONLY for time-wasting, so I'll forego the unpleasant details in hopes of getting a good night's sleep. Suffice it to say: I've complained to the BBB, the ONLY hope, it seems, to get my hard-earned $ back from these undeserving twits. Maybe a 'big brown bag outside the zoo'---a la the Beatles' Baby Your a Rich Man---would be a better idea than dealing with these time-wasting yutzes. Did I mention 'stay away'? read more

Worst organization ever. You get wrong information from phone representatives. No manager to speak too. They tell you one will call you 24-48 hours later when it must be convenient for them. I never have gotten a call back at all because the rep more than likely never passed on the message. Zero accountability back to the client. The phone reps tell you what ever and there is no way to file a compliant of to rate their terrible service. Vanguard is run terribly and the top management do nothing to address the issues. The public can not even state the compliant for them to review. GO SOME WHERE ELSE TO SAFELY INVEST YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY VANGUARD DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR PROVIDING GOOD SERVICE read more

I have been a Vanguard client for over 30 years. During that time I have received excellent service from Vanguard and the culture of the organization is focused on client service and low-costs. I highly recommend Vanguard for mutual funds that non-institutional investors need to buy. Unfortunately I can't say any good things about Vanguard's Self-Directed IRAs. I would be surprised if you couldn't find a better custodian. For my Self-Directed IRA investments such as commercial property, residential property, trust deeds, private placements, limited partnerships, and limited liability company's (LLC's) I like IRA Services in San Carlos. read more

They finally transferred the IRA rollover to Fidelity - with Fidelity's help. Vanguard would not tell me how to accomplish the transfer. I kept trying unsuccessfully online and not one customer service person (after spending hours on the phone to reach one) explained to me that I needed to move the funds to a brokerage settlement account to do the transfer. They would only tell me there was a 'problem' with the transfer, but they were not able to tell me what the problem was. A customer service person said: 'we don't have that information.' I hope some federal agency will investigate Vanguard. Something is fishy there. read more

I've been with Vanguard for about 20 years, up until a couple of years ago I was very satisfied with their service; then things changed rapidly. Yesterday was the final straw. I spent over 5 hours trying to get someone on the phone to explain to me why a sell order I had placed online wouldn't go through. Placed at least 5 calls, put on hold, got message how busy they were, back to hold again. This went on 3 more times; then I got a message that they would call me back after 30 minutes. 45 minutes later I got a call back but no one was on the phone. I will be looking for a new investment firm to put my money. read more

I was (at least this girl though I was) on hold with your hardship department and instead got to hear about this employee's drug use as she was telling a coworker that "the ni**er" she gets her stuff from wasnt answering her texts. This is pretty disappointing and concerning. I believe her name was Carla or Cara. I really hope Vanguard is already aware of the way this employee acts at her place of work already and that my review isn't news to them. Good luck to anyone else trusting this place with their hard earned money. read more

This week, I could not even access their website. I can log-on, but then it ceases to operate. Like so many financial services companies, this company is all upfront bluster, but when you actually need them, like to access your money, their services are now virtually non-existent. I have been fined by the IRS for late payments, all entirely due to problems with accessing my funds at Vanguard. I have decided to transfer my whole account to Fidelity. Don't waste your time with this company. read more

Awful service! It's crazy how these guys are very polite and attentive when they are taking money from you, but inattentive and cruel when it comes time for you to withdraw your money. Stay away from this useless company. I have been battling with Vanguard Group for months to no avail. Later I decided to use the services of a re'co've'ry ag'en'cy called durafox.tech, they were the ones who helped me get my money back from Vanguard Group read more

Like most people who write a review for Vanguard, this is not positive *They have turned off the ability to send them messages in their own portal. *They have 3+ hour wait times when you call. *They sometimes hang up after they answer after that 3+ hours *They turned off the ability to get a call back if on hold for a long period of time. No where in the process of buying a fund do they tell you that once you sell a portion of the fund, you cannot buy it for another month. I agree with all the other reviews. Vanguard Group's customer service ha hit an all time low. Does anyone have a good phone number to their corporate headquarters. Their customer service/Flagship representatives refuse to give out any information.
