This location really stands out because it consistently gets the basics right, seemingly without having to go out of its way to do so. All that accompanied by a friendly staff. Check-in was super easy. Got a free upgrade for being Platinum member. The 1BR suite was so nice. The room had a small living room with table, couch and TV. Bathroom was huge. They also had a club lounge on 9th floor, that had breakfast, lunch, light dinner, snacks and drinks. The surrounding area is vibrant. Lots of restaurants and shopping plaza are within walkable and driving distance. Hotel got their parking lot and the entrance was pretty safe.

You don't need to scan your card in the elevator, so anyone can go up to the club floor, and people are always letting other people in the room who don't have access. There is no one to check if you are club level, so it's a free-for-all. They also don't provide alcohol for free and the "breakfast" and "dinner" are lackluster. I was locked out of my room several times because the key stopped giving access for no reason. Finding the pool is a nightmare and it's not even worth it. This hotel gives more motel / express vibes.

I was very happy with my room, it was clean and modern and very spacious. I had a large King bed, a sofa, a desk with lots of workspace, and plenty of lighting. The bathroom had tons of lighting and a shower only (no bulky bathtub to worry with). Hotel has plenty of free parking, an indoor pool with hot tub, and a small fitness center if you're into that sort of thing. The staff wasn't the most friendly bunch, but it's hard to blame them with the current strained Canada / U.S. relationship. We are living in crazy times for sure. Do take note all Hhonors Diamond members: your $10 per person credit benefit is NOT VALID in the pantry and only on continental breakfast. We learned this the hard way after dropping $20 on sodas and snacks. It works different in Canada than it does in the U.S.A. I'd stay at this hotel again if I was passing through the area. It's a good, solid Garden Inn.

When I pulled up the the building, I thought they rebranded it as I sworn I've stayed here under a different Marriot brand. I pulled into the back parking lot which you have to register and pay for if you're a guest. There is a parking station out back but don't use that as it's way cheaper staying as a hotel guest. At front desk, they had a pretty decent sized lineup but they got through it pretty quickly. They asked if I checked in and I let them know when they were under a different name. They told me they actually have 2 hotels here which is confusing but confirmed that I had stayed here before. Front desk staff were really nice to me. They let me know that breakfast is included. I headed to my room and got settled. The room I had was pretty bright from all the natural light. The room has a tv, desk and a fridge. The washroom looked decent but later found out that the shower/drain was a bit finicky. The bed was decent. I tried the breakfast. It's super basic and it's OK at best but I do like that they have a few fruit options as well as yogurt. There's hot items and all things you'd find at a continental breakfast. Coffee is passable. I never checked out the amenities so can't really comment on them,

The room was quite spacious for a king with sofa, but you can hear the vehicle traffic all night. The black out curtains sort of did the job, the air conditioning is loud. And you can hear the refrigerator. If you're a sensitive sleeper this may not be for you. Also throughout the night can hear someone above- but I thought I was top floor??? Level of cleanliness was moderate, you can see some visible dirty sports. For the price points at $300 and change after tax, it was a bit steep. One of the Most Unprofessional and Sketchy Hotel Experiences I've Ever Had…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. When we arrived, the pullout couch was absolutely disgusting. We had to request sheets and pillows just to make our own bed. The walls were so thin we could hear everything, so forget about getting any sleep. But the condition of the room was only part of the problem. The staff behavior was what really pushed this experience into disturbing territory. We were in town for a wedding but received a family emergency call and weren't sure if we'd be returning that night. So we put our luggage in the car just in case. Suddenly I started getting calls from the hotel because the maid had gone into our room and reported that we didn't leave any luggage. I cannot emphasize enough how creepy and invasive that is. Why is a staff member snooping around and keeping tabs on whether guests leave bags behind? It was beyond unprofessional. I explained to the front desk (a woman named Linda) that we might not return that night due to possibly having to head home, and instead of showing understanding, she pressured us to "make a decision" by 6 p.m. It felt like they were trying to double-dip--charge me while re-renting the room. Even after asking if management could approve a refund, I was told they'd look into it, but no one followed up. I had to call again during the wedding photos, and still no action was taken. In the end, I never received a refund or even a partial refund from the manager, who I believe was Kimberly. And yet, I was still asked to leave a positive review. The nerve. I paid for the room. My whereabouts, my luggage, and whether I return or not should not be monitored or questioned. The entire stay felt sketchy, invasive, and stressful--on top of being flat-out uncomfortable. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Between the filthy conditions and the shady, overbearing staff, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I will be telling everyone I know to stay far away
