If I could give zero stars I would but that is unfortunately not an option. We recently bid on and won 5 cars from an auction in Sanger Texas. My husband and I drove to Texas for a separate event that happened to be occurring during the same week as the auction. Not knowing whether or not we would be winning anything or not we opted to bring cash. Mind you I read all of the auction descriptions that clearly stated how you could pay for your winnings. ALL of them said option 2. CASH. Once we won the five vehicles, we were told cash was not an option. We attempted to speak with Yvette to figure out how we could work it out since we were already in Texas without a bank, we were a member of in the entire state. Yvette was VERY rude, condescending, and unprofessional. It was quite honestly astounding how unprofessional she proceeded to be in the days ahead. All she wanted to do was argue that the ad did not read cash. Which was a moot point at this stage of game. (SHE WAS HOWEVER WRONG AND EMAILED LATER SAYING SO) but continued to be rude. We owed payment within 72 hours. I realized soon i could not have an intelligent professional conversation with Yvette so I opted for email. I told Yvette her money would be wired the next morning first thing with the assistance of someone back home that could help me out so we could be done with the whole matter. She then proceeded to email me back the following:

Hi,
Your Credit Card does not work for your purchases and your phone number doesn't either. I need payment for your GMC auction purchases. This needs to be taken care of. This is an elderly man's collection that is not well. WE need to get this resolved n paid for. YOU CAN NOT PAY ON SITE! I need to know how and when you are paying. This was due in 72 hours of winning the bid.
Please call me,
Yvette VanDerBrink

Mind you it hadn't been 72 hours! I told her I would be sending a wire transfer! We never once said we were paying on site.
I found this whole thing to be not only concerning since I just told her how I was paying and when, but also insulting considering she was accusing us of not caring about an elderly man. It was also comical she said my telephone did not work, considering we had spoken several times the day before.
We also asked for the sellers contact information since we were already in Texas (We live in Ohio) so that we could set up an arrangement to get our vehicles. She proceeded to refuse to give us his contact information on several occasions wanting us to go through her while is also in another state. Knowing this was not an option with such a difficult unprofessional person, I decided to find him ourselves and figure out situation out. We found the seller and had a great conversation with him! We were a wonderful man that by the way said he would have been happy to accept cash! He also continued to tell us how Yvette had been nothing but difficult with him as well. We spend several days getting some of our vehicles with the seller right by our side and even gracing us with lunch and water. We got to know the seller quite well in the few days and he even made the drive to Fort Worth with his wife to watch my daughter perform at the Will Rogers Coliseum. We plan to be in Texas again soon for the rest of our items and look forward to working with the seller directly.
In the end I would highly discourage anyone from retaining VanDerBrink auctions for any of your auction needs. She is working for herself only. She will be rude to the people bidding and purchasing your belongings. She is unprofessional, rude and downright nasty to deal with. read more
