I'd passed by many times, but it was extremely difficult to see the company's name panel. Maybe it could be made so it's possible to see more easily from outside. They have a great corner location, so it's not the name that's easily seen... it's the lovely displays!

After checking out a few reputable jewelers, I decided Lessard Coutu would be the ones to replace the diamond and repair the ring. Marianne took her time going through all the options and explained why the ring had been faulty and what needed to be done in order for the ring to be worn with confidence. She, Moe and all their staff were a delight to work with. They are patient, knowledgeable and skilled artisans. I've already taken some other pieces to them for repair and will most definitely go to them for all my future jewellery purchases. They have such a great eye for design, that I'm seriously considering taking some older pieces to them to be remade into something more contemporary that my grandkids would love to wear. My family had dealt with them for decades and I felt I could trust them as a result. Mitch was the person who sold it to me and established the price. Well imagine our surprise when for insurance purposes we had to get another appraisal recently and it was $4k. The ring never left our sight. We did this at a well respected local jeweller. They looked at Mitch's documentation and laughed. They wondered if he even was a jeweller qualified to appraise jewellry...... So we went to another well respected jeweller and they confirmed the appraisal we had just received. They confirmed that the document we received from Petars was useless and didn't make sense. Interestingly enough when we would get the ring cleaned at Petar's we had to leave it with them for days. We never had to do that with any other jeweller!!!! They did the work in front of us. I can say this for certain, that either they sold us a sub par piece of crap and charged us a criminal price or they swapped out the stone when it was in for cleaning, because like I said it was never out of our sight otherwise. I had purchased a couple of other more modest pieces, one being an earring set. They passed off garnet for rubies! I didn't know better, but unfortunately trusted them at the time. I'm still mad at myself for not picking up the Optical Calcite they have for 4"x2.5"x1" for $4 ($20 most places) They have some very unique crystals I've never heard of, so that was interesting and their jewelry is at a very good price. The two woman I met working at the store were extremely friendly and pretty knowledgable. Which is a big deal when it comes to crystals, you don't want someone giving you the wrong information just to make some money.
