I have been seeing Vandana since May. She was highly recommended from my endocrinologist. Vandana has two programs; I chose the Intuitive Eating program. Wondering if you will definitely lose a lot of weight? There is no guarantee (for anything in life). However, if you don't lose a bunch of weight, you are not a failure. Two years ago at my yearly physical, I had very high triglyceride levels and poor cholesterol numbers. My doctor said if we did not get this under control, heart disease and pancreatitis were serious issues that could result. I asked to first try dietary changes and exercise before starting medication. He gave me 6 months to see if I could improve my numbers. He also gave me a sheet of generic advice on treating the conditions with diet. The sheet was written for a typical omnivore diet. I am a vegetarian so much of the advice (like eat less red meat) did not apply to me. So I searched for a nutritionist who was familiar with vegetarian diets. In two follow-up visits, she recommended a few other diet suggestions and answered a few questions that had come up. After one year I had lost over 15 lbs and my numbers were continuing to improve.
