I have been dealing with shortness of breath, fatigue, brain fog and insomnia for the past 2.5…read moreyears. I do have asthma but my shortness of breath cannot be accounted for by that. Pre-pandemic my asthma was under control with the medication I was on. I found myself feeling fatigued much of the day. Different blood tests and examinations came out normal, except my pulmonary function tests which showed a big decrease in lung capacity that they could not account for. Anyways after research I discovered hyperbaric oxygen treatment was helpful for my condition. I ran across Altitude Performance in my google search. What I found very attractive was that it was a fraction of the price of hyperbaric treatments. They do something called multibaric oxygen therapy here. It's great for inflammation and acceleration of healing. The first thing that happens when you walk in the door is that you are greeted by the friendly attendant (in my case it was Janna) and you sign in. Next you are asked to watch a 9-minute introductory video about safety measures and important things you need to do in order the equalize the pressure in your ears. This is important since the pressure changes are happening a few hundred times during the session. You then sign fill out a form saying that you watched the video and you agreed to the terms and conditions and it also included a waiver. There is a question regarding sinus congestion as it would be painful if you are unable to clear your ears in order the relieve the pressure. I did have some allergies but also took a decongestant before I went so my congestion wasn't bad. Janna then introduced me to the pod. There is a cupholder for water on the left and a green switch in case of emergency if you need to get out. This really isn't necessary as the attendant is always there and they give you a walkie talkie in case you are uncomfortable and need to get out. Janna explained to me what the readout on the machine by the pod was all about. There are different levels and tiers of pressure. For my first three sessions I stayed at level 1 and only on my fourth session did I try level 2. They are very accommodating and say you can try a higher level for 5 minutes and then go back to level 1 or else you can do 20 minutes of level 2 and then go back to level 1. It was a weird experience initially and although I'm not claustrophobic, there was part of me that thought, "what did I get myself into?" After the first twenty minutes I adjusted to all the swallowing that needed to be done. You are also provided with a basket of candy that you can pick and choose from in order to facilitate the equalization of pressure. When the session to end, the attendant lets you know and asks if you are able to clear your ears or not. If you are having problems she gives suggestions. I have done four sessions in two weeks now and not once did I experience any pain. Safety is a big thing for this company. Anyways, I am almost done my introductory package. It was $125 for 10 twenty minute sessions, so quite a steal! They recommend doing 40-minute sessions at a time so I have been doing two twenty minute sessions back to back. For the first session they ask you to book 60 minutes but the first 20 minutes is just introduction including watching the video so only two sessions are used instead of three. I will be purchasing another package and going a few times a week. After the first session I noticed my allergies and congestion were much better. Since around June my allergies got really bad and it typically happened at night where I would have terrible congestion and sneezing. I would take multiple medications as well as nasal sprays and it was frustrating especially when I was trying to sleep. It really helped my sleep. I typically wake up a few times a night but after my session I only woke up once and in the morning I felt refreshed after getting out of bed. Energy levels are way better. I no longer get fatigued during the day and I feel I have energy well into the evening which is very unusual. The people who work there including Janna have personal experience using the equipment. I wanted to go to a higher pressure sooner but Janna advised against it. It's best to be patient before increasing to the next level. She was right as I tried level two during my third session and it was a bit uncomfortable and I had quite the workout trying to clear my ears. I experienced some anxiety from going up too quickly, too soon. During my last session I handled level two much better. I'm so grateful to David and Melissa who brought this fabulous equipment to Canada. It's very effective and affordable. I hope others struggling with similar issues that I do will give this place a try.

The owners cautioned me not to expect overnight miracles after buying a Groupon package. But i did experience almost immediate relief from hip pain that i had for more than a year.
