Long story short! I will NOT be back to Vancosta's. The customer service was good but the food was horrible. I ordered the crab cake and fries. The crab cakes were undercooked and almost flavorless and the French fries came out warm at best. My wife ordered a veggie pizza and that too was undercooked. Instead of having the food sent back to the kitchen we boxed it up and was forced to re-cook the food ourselves. In closing I'll be searching for a new to Italian restaurant to eat from. read more

Would definitely recommend this place. Very friendly service and decent food, not too expensive. The garlic bread we had was pretty good, sadly a little too much garlic for my taste. A nice, big Greek salad with a tasty home made dressing. The ziti with sausage were alright, nothing out of the ordinary. read more

Visiting on vacation and picked this place at random. My son liked the spaghetti and meatballs. I ordered chicken kebabs and it just wasn't for me. The chicken was over seasoned and marinara on rice with veggies soaked in oil just wasn't for me. I was also disappointed to never get my water glass refilled. The French Onion soup I had today was really good, full of onions with a couple of bread crusts. Not just good, but good and Hot! No cool soup, this! My Chicken Philly sub was brought out before I'd finished my soup and I was determined to finish the good soup but this resulted in my sub being cool when I got to it. My fault. We had beat the crowd and thus the kitchen was fast. You may like lettuce and tomato (they do call it a sub) but I don't want it on a Philly sub and I asked for no tomato but left the lettuce. Good sub. Decor inside had improved over the last few years, no more fish tanks! You will find good food here. read more

I ordered a Stromboli......after having the garlic knots that were phenomenal. I ate a corner out of my Stromboli at the restaurant. I took my left overs home. Heated it up. I took a bite and as I was going to slice another bite I saw something black so I opened up the Stromboli only to find a dead fly baked into the Stromboli. Utter disgust. The only reason why I did not give this rating a 1 is because I have had several good experiences but this was unacceptable. read more

This is a family restaurant that has been around since 1972. The prices are fantastic. They support local sport teams and family issues- like Shaken Baby Syndrome- where they run an awareness campaign. The soups are homemade- not doctored from can. We had Chicken Rice and French Onion- both were fantastic... just what homemade should taste like (if your mom was a great cook). We also had grilled cheese sandwich. Great even grill on both sides- served hot. I had chicken and my husband had steak. Both were cooked perfectly and came out hot. It was comfortable and sweet. This is the perfect place to go for the following (we are a dual working family with four active kids- so we look carefully at restaurants and give our honest opinion). (1) Friendly couples lunch or dinner- noise level is minimal and there is beer if you want- but you will be able to talk with each other with little interruption. (2) Business lunch/dinner- interviews too... again- affordable and plenty of room at the tables to share paperwork. (3) Doing your taxes! (4) Holding a retirement dinner or team dinner. (5) Birthday recognition/party (6) Family dinner- low cost- great portions- great food! It is an older establishment- so not shiny modern--- but it is friendly- economic and dependable- just right for most of us looking for a great place to eat! Highly endorse this place. read more

We had our son's rehersal dinner at Vancosta's and couldn't have been happier with the food or the service! Had guests from all over the country in attendance (some of which are serious foodies) and EVERYONE raved over the selections! Started with the Grecian samplers and house salad (house dressing is AWESOME if you like classic oil & vinegar). Ordered the eggplant parmesan as an afterthought and it turned out to be the big hit of the night! The baklava is a don't miss- so delicious!!! Would question their cleaning practices. While eating at my table on a Sunday afternoon, I saw the owner place a dirty vacuum on top of a table. She was evidently trouble shooting why it was not working properly. Once she took it off, she did not clean the table. Before I left, I told the waitress what I had witnessed. She asked which table and then cleaned if off herself. The food was average. My gyro did not have enough tzatzikita sauce and was dry. I asked if I could get more and was very disappointed that I was charged $1.55 for the sauce without being told when I asked. I hear they used to be a really good restaurant. 2-28-2016 about 1145AM for breakfast. Worst service and meal we have had there. Have ate dinner there many times and things were pretty good. Don't know if new owner or what but we won't be going back. Asked to see manager and she never stopped to talk to us so I paid the check and left. Good thing I was stopping after church. We were told to set anywhere and a waitress came to check on us. We gave her our drink order and she brought that. We said give us a minute to look over menu. We laid down the menus as a sign we were ready to order. 10 minutes, 15 minutes finally I turned and waved my hand to get the attention of the staff. They were just standing around chit chatting. Waitress came over took our order country ham, grits, 1 egg, and biscuit for my wife and i had hash, home fries and rye toast. Well they did bring a refill of coffee but service very slow with just a few customers. We finally get our food and the country ham is cooked to death and my wife can't even cut it. We reminded the waitress my wife ordered a biscuit, she said ok but it never came. I asked for butter for grits and toast, that came after a while. We asked a second waitress about the biscuit, never did come and we were done eating. My hash had a strange taste and the home fries are deep fried potato cubes, the rye toast was very good but I needed butter and don't expect to get coffee refills. Thank goodness we started the day out right at home with coffee. read more

Good place close to home. Have visited this location several times over the last 16 years. Pizza is great and a few other dishes are worth a visit. The staff used to be incredible but the last few years they seem to have changed a lot. We have only had a couple of bad experiences and each time it was not while we were eating in but rather we we had take out. We would recommend it. read more

Vancostas went above and beyond to accommodate me; I placed a large order for a family whom had just lost their sister. I called them from California at their busiest time of the day and they got the order ready in no time, and made a special delivery for me to their home. Today I enjoyed a nice quiet lunch at vancostas and quite enjoyed my experience. Service was a very reasonable time, especially considering there was only one waitress in the building. My food was good and as expected, the friends I was eating with all enjoyed their meals. For the four of us we had a well-priced meal.
