Great place to get your passport photo done. I got my old ones from Blacks years ago (no wonder…read morethey went out of business!) and they were so bad that I have had border agents LAUGH at my photo because I looked like I was having a very rough day. Stumbled upon Superbest Photos on Yelp and it was conveniently located downtown. Went on my lunch break to get my passport photos done and what a difference!!! They use professional lighting here so you don't look like you have perma-RBF since you can't smile in passport photos anymore. They also took multiple shots and let me pick the best one. Service was great and fast and honestly the best passport photos I have had in a while. I recently came back to get my headshots done, also very happy with the results. Anthony was great and really made sure I was happy with the results. They have a $49 option without retouching, and a $99 option with retouching included. Anthony actually told me I probably didn't need the $99 option (awww!) and I was very happy with the final product. I got the photos the same day, an hour later and he made sure the lighting was good! I remember getting my passport photos and school photos done waaaay back in the day in studios like this, so not only was it a nostalgic experience, but also phenomenal service and a great business overall. They also have their Yelp award proudly displayed and I can see why. If you are reading this review, I urge you to get your photo done here, this is a great way to support a good local business and there is truly a big difference to what you will get from a LD or Shoppers!

This is certainly a business I can get behind supporting. Show some love if you're in the market for passport photos or a business/professional portrait :)

Ivy was very helpful and thorough with explaining how the whole process works and showed us all the different packages that they offer. We did look at a few other studios as well, but ultimately picked Charlies because they aligned best with what we were looking for. We chose the "Prime Collection" package which included everything we needed and the pricing roughly aligned with the other studios we visited. Communication was very prompt and professional during the entire process! We chose to have our photoshoot during April to capture the cherry blossoms. Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms bloomed early this year so we missed the prime window, but that was entirely our own fault because Ivy was very organized and did try to rebook us to an earlier date. Regardless, we still got all the photos that we wanted. Picking out the dress rentals was also a super fun experience. They have so many gorgeous wedding gowns and evening gowns to choose from and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. Their selection of wedding gowns was definitely better than the evening gowns though, but luckily, they had a new arrival that I absolutely loved! The new arrival had an additional surcharge which was a little bit annoying but it was still worth it. They were able to alter both dresses to fit me perfectly for the shoot. Just before the photoshoot day, we were informed that there wouldn't actually be an assistant with us to help me change into the dress and swap out hair accessories, but we could add one for an additional $150 charge. This was the only negative aspect of our entire interaction with them, because I wish they were more transparent about it from the beginning. Everything else went very smoothly. I got to request my wedding makeup artist and used this photoshoot as my hair and makeup trial. The photographer and the photographer assistant were super nice and friendly and gave very clear directions throughout the day. They're also super familiar with all the best photo spots and we had a great time during our photo session. We got our edited photos back promptly around 3 weeks after the photoshoot and it was way more pictures than we expected, so that was super nice. Our fine touch-up photos were ready about a week after we made our selections and we have no complaints! Definitely recommend working with Charlie's Studio :)

All three of them were friendly, professional, and on-time re: scheduling, communication, and photo delivery, with each step in the process delivering quality experience with ease. Our photographers Annie and Christine were super fun to work with. My husband and I are very awkward in front of cameras, and they tried their best to put us at ease and make sure we had fun. Both our engagement and wedding day photos turned out beautiful - natural, warm, and very 'us'. Their photos also captured our parents at their best and most natural selves, and we are so grateful to be able to look at our wedding photos and see our parents with all their love and warmth. We met them initially for a consultation and quote, and during this time Phoebe and the team were extremely thorough, answering any questions we had and taking their time going through the type of work they provide. After seeing their style and comparing them with a few other local vendors we knew they were the right fit for us. I also wanted to minimize the number of overall vendors i worked with, so by Hera being a full-serviced film company where i could get all of this in one place was a plus for me. Communication was clear and easy throughout the planning process and they were very accommodating with any changes. They took the time to know us as a couple, which showed clearly through the photos and videos they took. Josh, our photographer, made us also feel very comfortable during our photography sessions which was a huge deal, considering we're not the natural type of couples when it comes to these things! On your wedding day you get caught up with so many things that sometimes you aren't able to see and absorb everything at that moment in time, and Hera was able to capture those moments of my friends and family when i wasn't there to see it myself. Now that i look back at my photos (including photobooth pictures!) and videos, I'm able to reminisce on that day and have those memories with me for years to come in exceptional quality. Thanks Hera!

But after…read morethe photos are taken, the experience quickly deteriorates to the point you feel somewhat held hostage by unfair business practices. The first red flag was that in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, the photographer was not willing to share watermarked photos, so we could select which ones to purchase. We were forced to come into the studio. This consequently meant our family members who were interested in the photos never even got to see them in any form, because they couldn't make it to the studio during C-19. Even worse, we wanted digital copies to share with family, and Tamara said she'd share them if we paid $300 per print. She was unwilling to sell digital photos on their own, at any price. We bought 3 photo prints and our digital copies were sent to us with large watermarks. $300 won't even get you an un-watermarked digital copy of one photo. The photos were well-taken, but the print quality is average at best. There are much better photography experiences in Vancouver and businesses that won't penalize you for having family you'd like to share digital copies with.
