I'm extremely disappointed with Direct Orthopedic Care. A year and a half after receiving…read moretreatment, I suddenly received a voicemail saying I was about to be sent to third-party collections. I had never received a single bill, letter, or phone call prior to this. No warning--just a voicemail threatening collections. When I called to resolve the issue, they told me there had been an error with billing my insurance. I had spoken with them last June about this exact issue and never heard anything back, so I assumed it had been resolved. I asked them to rebill the insurance, and they said no--because it was now past the statute of limitations to bill the insurance company. When I asked why I was never told this, they claimed they had mailed me five letters. I never received any of them. When I said that, they basically accused me of lying. The representative I spoke to was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. There was no empathy, no accountability, and no willingness to help resolve the issue fairly. It was clear they just wanted to shift blame and be done with it. What's worse is that after reading other reviews, it seems like this kind of billing nightmare is a common issue at this place. Clearly, there's a serious problem with their billing department and overall management. It's a shame because the doctors themselves are great--but the front office and billing staff are awful. Every time I've visited the office, I've encountered rude, unhelpful staff who act like they don't even want to be there. I absolutely do not recommend Direct Orthopedic Care. Unless you want to deal with surprise bills, rude staff, and an office that refuses to take responsibility for their own mistakes--go elsewhere.

I went in for their free consultation (which I saw on Instagram). When the lady did their…read moreelectrical continuity tests on my hands and feet, she did it improperly which showed that my condition was extreme. This concered me so I decided to sign up for their $49 indeapth testing. The topic of insurance came up but was quickly brushed aside. They knew full well that insurance does not cover this, which would have been a deciding factor for me right then and there, but they concealed that info so that I would go on to the next testing step. I asked that clinician to run the hands and feet test again. This time it was done correctly and I had a much different result from the first time the test was done. This lead me to believe that the first test was done incorrectly on purpose or she didn't had enough training to do it correctly. This is my personal experience and yours may be different. After all the testing was finished, I was handed a price to receive equipment to use at home and sessions in the office. The price page listed 2 ultra red light boots when I thought to myself that I would really only need one because they are quite expensive. The rest of the gadgets were not explained much. For $9,097, I felt that more explaining would have been appropriate. Everyone in the office was supper nice and seemed to be well rehearsed on their presentation. I have decided to decline and research less expensive options.

So I received a shiny (expensive) mailer in the mail and when I called the office to inquire about…read moretheir insurance policies, I was told that only after I had received my complimentary 'free' exam and if I qualified for one of their programs...blah blah blah. When I told the young lady, again that she didn't answer my question on their insurance policies, she said that some people pay out of pocket and then try and get reimbursement through their insurance programs. So I said "so you do not directly bill insurance and she finally said no it was all out of pocket. From the other reviews I've read, this seems like hocus pocus medicine and people might be better off going to see actual physicians and surgeons for neuropathy. You need to be very wealthy to partake in these "treatments". Good luck
