We were not prepared with a jack or the impact driver needed to get the wheel off, so we started calling businesses to see if they could help us. After several calls, the wonderful and friendly lady at Shaffers answered! She sent someone to the campground to help us within an hour of our call. The gentleman who changed our tire was super nice and explained everything. Their prices were reasonable as well. Thank you for helping us!

My water pump went out on my Taurus, took it to Jays because they were a cheaper fair price and I def see why. Took over a month to get it done. When I got it back, it was missing motor mount bolts( which he said were already missing, they were not !) about day 2of getting it back, my car started knocking. I called and talked to him and he suggested that I drive it back up there and let him check it out for an additional charge. I had already paid 1000 over what was told to me ( without asking first) for other things that needed to be changed out and 1 part was changed out ( supposedly) but was definitely not a new one that I supposedly paid for. I now have no car, and no compensation from the place of business. Just be careful who you trust.

I brought my car to their shop three different times for the exact…read moresame issue -- "Engine Power Reduced," loss of acceleration, and oil pressure warnings -- and each time they failed to fix it. After paying a total of $1,711.84, the problem always returned within days (3 days, then 14 days, then less than 24 hours). They also lied about dates and claimed the car came in for "three different problems," which is completely false -- it was the same issue every time. Their invoices lacked detail, and they ignored the written list of symptoms I left in the car. The second shop I went to finally fixed the issue and provided detailed notes showing what should have been done the first time. When I filed a complaint, Jay Barker's Auto Repair even claimed they "did not know" I was having these issues, which makes no sense since their own receipts list "Engine Power Reduced." After three failed repairs and misleading statements, I refused to return -- three strikes and you're out.

Several months later, my car is experiencing the same problems. Took it back to him, and he wants more money. I found another guy to look at it, and I showed him the bill from Derby City Tires and the amount I paid for previous work, and the guy told me how Derby City Tires overcharged me so much money! Also...some of the parts were not even on the car!!! What a rip off. Never again! I kind of felt that I got ripped off, but I had no way of proving it. But now that I have someone else fixing my car, it's apparent that my gut instincts were true! I will never recommend this shop to anyone, nor will I return there for any kind of service. Again, I paid HUNDREDS of dollars to get repairs done. I am very disappointed and angry!!! Amazing how people can take your money KNOWING they didn't do as much as they said they did, and not even feel bad about their actions!!!!! SICKENING!
