New to golf and have been coming here to get practice in. The guys in the pro shop are always helpful and professional. Never had an issue with range. It does get hot during the summer. The executive range is great and pace of play is good. The 18 hole is good but can get backed up. Great course for a beginner like myself. Played the 9 hole Executive course that has 3 par 4 holes. The fairways were horrible and the putting green looked like the surface of the moon. Bottom line. The place needs some work. Super laid back. Love being able to come and do the par 3 course. Not a fancy place but it's not meant to be...the vibe here is great. And the people who play here are usually very nice and down to earth. Great way to spend some time outside on the course. read more

It's not a 5 start course but this is a 5 start review. This is my home course not because it's the closest, but because here I feel at home. I come here with my best friends and we are all very respectful of the course, and we have the best of times. We've been to the fancy spots and it's just not the same. I recommend going early to miss the stacks of groups. I'm not the only one who feels this way, many people come with friends and family very often. I'm now a regular after not golfing for 5 years after an injury. The place is the same and I love it. Staff remembers you, the fellow golfers are nice, and the beer isn't too expensive. Highly recommended if you wanna go for a quick 9 on the executive side, or a nice 18 holes on the par 3. I came here on my birthday and played every hole, had a blast. The practice here is amazing. Two putting areas. Driving range. 4 holes to practice chipping. Consists of One elevated area with three holes. That area rolls down onto the practice putting area that has a nice hill, to practice uphill and downhill putting. My favorite is the 4th chipping hole. It has a decent side sand trap to chip over into the green. You see the regulars park there with full buckets and go to town, fun sight to see. Needless to say this place makes you feel right at home, offers great rounds of golf at and affordable price, and gives you a nice feel of the mid valley. Take your buddies or go alone. I haven't been here in years, but it is the same old neighborhood golf course. Nothing fancy here, just the basics. The parking is vast, and plentiful. Some spaces are in the shade. Couple of guys laughing, but no thugs or hooligans. The staff worker was polite, and informative. We got a couple of beers and a large bucket of range balls for under $20. The range wasn't too crowded, we found our spots quickly. The mats are a little old. The airport is close, so there are lots of older, interesting aircraft flying around overhead. We spent less then an hour there, and never felt rushed. We will definitely add this range to our list of fun things to do. read more

Looking for a place to spontaneously go golfing after a long day of shenanigans? This place will do it, but don't expect amazing facilities, service, or equipment. We got the large basket of range balls for $8 with the Yelp check-in deal (should be 100 balls if I remember correctly) and that was worth it. The balls are dispensed by a machine outside the shop, one of which was broken with no signage to indicate that it didn't work, so go for the one next to it that has a covered screen. Between 3 amateurs, it took about 20 minutes to blow through our supply of balls on the range. Golf club rentals are $1 each and there is a selection of clubs, which may have needed a bit of cleaning, including drivers, but it was difficult to find ones that were the right length. I would go again because it's a pretty decent range for the money, so no complaints on that end. read more

The employees at this golf course have major attitude problems, a man named Mike in particular. My husband loves to use the golf now website to book tee times. This golf course needs to let golf now know that they do not honor golf now tee times and do not allow a replay at a discounted rate. My husband booked a tee time here for $6, played, and when he wanted to do a replay, Mike told my husband the replay would be $17. Wow! So my husband said he would purchase another hot deal online for $6. Mike told my husband he wouldn't allow him to do that and he wouldn't honor the hot deal purchase. Oh. My. God. Way to do business over here. My husband and his golf partners will no longer golf at this establishment. Thank you, Mike. read more

We have been there a couple of times now, and our first visit was pretty smooth. We played foot golf - got our golf balls and carried about our business. It was fun! My second visit wasn't as pleasant. We decided to hit gold balls in the driving rang. We approached the counter to get our equipment, it was our first time using the driving range so we weren't sure what exactly to do. I asked if I could rent the full set of golf clubs, the attendant responded they only rented the entire set to patrons who were doing the full course. So I asked for a bucket of balls and a woman's driver. He asked if that was all, I said yes. Then he proceeded to tell me I needed a tee - okay that's fine clearly I didn't know what I was doing. he gave me the receipt and said that's your PIN number for the balls. I was confused but said to myself I'll figure it out. What he should have done is orient me on where to get the balls and what equipment was recommended. While I was attempting some hits, I noticed the club was really long, so I went back to the attendant and asked for a shorter club. He gave me irons - I didn't want an iron I asked for a driver, he responded he only had irons, he then eventually pulled out a junior's club. I took that but felt as if he was dismissive and not helpful. The take away from my experience - work on customer service. Not everyone who comes in is experienced. read more

It's a golf course in Van Nuys, so temper your expectations. This is my local, and a lot of people in the central Valley's local golf course, so it has a special place in our hearts. TLDR: any golf is better than no golf. DRIVING RANGE: Reasonable prices, old chewed up mats, random football goal in the middle, airplanes buzzing near Van Nuys Airport, and unsolicited "teachers" on Saturdays. But hey, for $6/$8/$10 a bucket, any golf is better than no golf. Except the unsolicited teacher guy, he can buzz off. 9/18 HOLE PAR 3: Fair price, hitting off mats, nonexistent grass (which is okay since they're short par 3s), no tee times, and everyone around you is about as good (or bad) as you. For $12/$22 a round, it's a good little course to get in practice with your short irons, wedges, and putter. Again, conditions are a little rough but as long as you're hitting on or around the green (which rarely happens for me), any golf is better than no golf. 9 HOLE EXECUTIVE: Alright, played this one for the first time the other day and won't again. For $17, you're paying an extra $5 over the par 3 9 hole for the 3 par 4's. However, the par 4's are all maintained just like the par 3's! There is little to no actual grass on the fairway, and unlike the par 3's, you're supposed to be hitting it in the fairway, or at least some patches of rough. Nope, the idea is hopefully aim straight and go 200 yards, just so you can land in some patches of yellow grass. If you're slicing, like most of us out there are doing, you're landing on another hole. Yeah, the fact that you can a perfect tee shot and play your second shot off some dirt or yellow grass just doesn't sit well with me. But if there's a 6 party wait on the par 3 hole, I guess this golf is better than no golf. Oh yeah, open during COVID, card only for payment, masks on, etc etc. read more

Great average golf course. Ive gone now 3 times and the range always has space. The prices for the 3 par 9 hole course and even the full 18 hole are pretty cheap. This review is for the par 3 course and only the first nine holes. First off, it is $10 for 9 holes on the weekends here so the price is right. That said, you are hitting off of mats the entire time and there is really no distinction of a fairway. All the grass is the same. I guess with a par 3, you're supposed to be hitting the greens. Another downfall of the course is the close proximaty to the Van Nuys Airport. A couple of the holes are also right along the fence next to the street so there are many distractions. It is also hard to follow where the next tee box is if it is your first time. The key is to follow the same colored pin flags. There is a putting area in the beginning and they do take credit cards. A decent place for a quick round. Showed up around 2pm without a reservation and there was no wait. read more

They have a lot of spots in the driving range. Benches are pretty old and Broken down, hope they can get some new ones but it's not that big of a deal. read more

The grass needs to be reseeded. The flags on the footgolf course are ripped so you don't know which number is which. The staff is nice but it does get very hard to know where to tee off from when golfing or playing footgolf. Needs to be updated read more

Love this place. I play the 9 hole course at night because it's one of the only courses with lights for night golf. Also if you check in on yelp, you can get a large bucket of range balls and a Goose Island tall boy for 14 dollars. That's cheaper than just a bucket most places. read more

I've recently taken interest in foot golf and let me tell you it's a super addicting game. I've been an avid golfer for a long time and although I love the game, the wife doesn't seem to take much interest, that is until we tried foot golf together. I have to agree with some previous reviews that the course is not in the greatest shape, but everything else is pretty great. For $15.00 a person for a round of foot golf it really is a great deal. So much fun and a great way to get out and get some exercise. It's located right behind the Van Nuys airport so you get to see some really cool aircraft while playing. If you haven't tried foot golf yet, give it a shot! It's super fun, rules are the same, and it moves a lot faster just remember to bring your size 5 soccer ball and no hard cleats. Keep in mind that you are playing alongside golfers so if a group is playing rather slow just be courteous, most people will let you go ahead. Average round of foot golf takes about 2- 2 1/2 hours. read more

So far I have only used the driving range. My coworker has been wanting to learn so I suggested this driving range since it is one of the cheaper ones in the area and has a covered area to guard against the sun. We used the Yelp check-in deal and got a large bucket (100 balls) for $8. Even at full price ($10) that's one of the better deals in the lower valley. My friend rented a single club for a $1 so he could have a designated driver that was the appropriate size for him. He is a 6' tall dude and I'm a 5'4" girl. He tried using my irons but they were too short for him (obviously, I tried telling him they would be). He was able to use my woods and my hybrid well enough that he felt he got a good first lesson. He was able to get some good distance after our hour there. We still need to work on his form though. Haha. The range was pretty crowded for a weekday and there was a group of younger kids taking lessons beside us towards the end of our hour. We ended up in the sun anyway as most of the shaded spots were taken. We didn't have tees on the tee boxes. There weren't any of the rubber tees but some of the other golfers had them. Maybe you have to ask for them for one or bring your own? We used our own tees right at the edge of the tee box so we wouldn't create divots but we also just hit without the tees using the hybrid and irons. This was the first driving range I have been to that didn't have rubber tees already embedded in the tee box areas. The rubber tees suck but it's better than not using a tee and messing up your club heads on the plastic astroturf. That's why I knocked off the first 1/2 a star. We plan to come back and try out the 3 par course and possibly the executive course. The exec course has lights so we might have to do that since our days go late at work. Several others from work want to join us next time. Honestly, my favorite part about this driving range is the fact that the Van Nuys airport is next door. While some may find it distracting, I'm obsessed with planes and air travel so I loved seeing all the different planes landing. Everything from little gliders and prop planes to expensive private jets flew overhead in the hour we were there and they fly so close I feel that one could probably whack a ball into a plane if they really tried. That may just be a perspective fail though. The staff that we dealt with were friendly but not very forthcoming with info. The reason I knocked off the second 1/2 star is because they offer a decent selection of beers but no cider. Really? This is LA guys! So only my coworker was able to get an adult beverage and I just slowly dehydrated in the sun. Next time I will know to bring my own cider or GF beer. I mean, no I won't. That's not allowed. This was a fun golf course to play on. Went early AM on a Saturday and played the executive 9. Greens were a little fast due to the condensation but it was a fun course. A couple holes are Par 4's, and that allow you to bust out the driver. I plan to come back this week to do some night golf, and I will update my review. So far, I enjoy it, and it's my hometown, so I have to give it some love. read more

We came here to shoot some balls at the driving range. It had been an insanely long time since my wife and I went golfing, and since I've never really taken any formal golfing lessons, other than the prerequisite hour or two of golf that we played back in PE in 7th grade, well... let's just say I suck. I suck so bad people around us stopped shooting balls just so they could sit and watch, laughing their asses off everytime I swung at air and left the ball intact on the tee. No really... I suck. One of the young guys next to us was kind enough to stop laughing for a little while and gave me some pointers: keep the arm in front perfectly straight and break your wrist at the end. Don't try to kill the ball, simply do a slow and controlled downswing. Bend your knees. Put your feet apart a little more. Keep your eye on the ball at all times. Then, I really really sucked. Because I now looked like a grown man going through an epillectic seizure while holding tightly to a golf club that occasionally hits the ball. Nevertheless, it was a fun experience and this has gotten me in the mood to act like a fool more often. Thanks Van Nuys Golf Course! read more

This is a good golf course. They have an 18 hole par 3 and a 9 hole executive. I have only played the executive and my review is based upon that. The course is well maintained with large full sized greens. 6 of the holes are the tradition par 3 holes then there are 3 holes which are about 250-300 yard par 4's. I like the variation and the opportunity to take the big stick out for a couple of holes. Being in Van Nuys it gets really hot out there in the summer. I try to go early to beat the heat. read more

I love it here. I try and go at least once a week. This is exactly what a public course should be. The have a 18 hole 3 par, a 9 hole executive course, and a large driving range. The prices are great, starting at $9 for 9-holes on the 3 par. I have yet to play the executive course but the 3-par is really great and there is never a wait, and even if there is you can opt to play the back nine instead of the front nine. There is usually a small wait to get on the executive course. They also have a large practice green and a pro shop. Oh, be warned that it is right next to an airport and directly under the flight pattern so there is some noise from the planes flying over head. There is also a lot of geese that hang out on the greens that don't seem to have any fear of people and will not move if they are in the way. This place really is as good as it gets. read more
