This practice is great -- from the two chiropractors to the front staff -- except for Rani. From my initial exam to the X-ray discovery, she spent not 5mins me, both times rude abrasive and just overall rushing through both meetings like she has somewhere more important to be -- on her phone, not with her patients. As soon as she walked into the room even before my X-ray evaluation began, she started with: I won't have time to answer a lot of questions. Then she spent maybe 3mins rushing over the two X-ray images, refused to go back to compare my old images, and actually said to me: "I don't have time to go over that." To be fair, I was 5mins late to the appt. But then not five minutes later I saw her at the front on her phone looking bored. Wtf? So you don't have time to actually oh I don't know take care of paying patients - you call yourself doctor after all - but have time to be on your phone looking bored at the front desk rather than actually use your degree and helping real people. My treatment recommendation didn't include electrical stimulation, which I really liked and helped a lot, and when I asked her for it she said that's not our recommendation. She tried instead to sell me acupuncture which is apparently what she does so of course given the "care" I saw from her so far, immediately declined. Unfortunate, bc I would like acupuncture as part of treatment just no way in hell I'm letting such a person "treat me" let alone bring sharp objects near me. You couldn't PAY me to let such an uncaring unprofessional clearly disinterested in patients "doctor" to poke me with needles, no thank you. Kind of actually hilarious you had the gall to ask that after your attitude. Dr. Parkin did my adjustment and when I asked for electrical stimulation of course immediately arranged it for me -- bc I don't know, maybe when a patient in pain says something helps with the pain, you should do something crazy, like listen? Their M-F schedule is also quite limited and doesnt align well with mine so btwn Rani and such restrictive schedule, looking for a good chiropractor who can do it all: adjustment acupuncture electrical stimulation and massage without any bad apples souring the whole treatment. read more

I chose Van Ness Chiropractic because they offered acupuncture. This was my third chiropractor since March, and the first to give me any relief from arthritis in my spine and joints. Dr. Parkin did the chiropractic adjustment and my back and neck were much better after the first visit. Dr. Sabri is the acupuncturist and gave me almost complete relief from the pain in my wrist. I WILL BE BACK!!! read more

Great knowledgeable and experience doctors with great staff. They listen to your needs and create a plan to meet those needs

I highly recommend Van Ness Chiropractic- the staff are professional and Jason's knowledge is remarkable. I am appreciative of his listening skills, his diagnostic ability and the customized treatment I receive every session depending on that day's particular aches or pains. read more

So, where to start? From the moment you walk into the office, you're greeted by Meghan, super awesome and attentive! Love when your doctor knows you by your first name! Previously had let my back issues go until I was referred by a friend after my move from the east coast and I've always been skeptical, but EVERYONE on dr. van Ness team is great! On my 4 visit and I already have the pinch on my neck is gone! Finally got a full nights sleep! If I was a skeptic, now I believe! And if you're in doubt where to go in the area, I highly recommend Van Ness Chiropractic!! read more

Very unprofessional and expensive . They mastered skill of charging your medical insurance. 15 min session where most of it is you lay down next to other people hooked up to some old electro massaging equipment for few hundred $ is a joke . Found other chiropractor where quality of full 1h session for fraction of the price I paid here is million times better !!!! This place is a joke ! read more

Holy moly- Van Ness is literally the best chiropractic practice I've been to, and I'm a devout back-crackee! Some chiropractors take more of a "feel and crack" approach, but the staff at Van Ness takes a completely informed approach to ensure that you're getting the care you need. They start out by taking X-rays so they can see what's going on, and sit with you and explain what they're seeing & what they're going to do with your treatment. As a patient, I get the feeling that the Van Ness staff want you to leave not only feeling pain free, but empowered and involved throughout your wellness journey. Thank you to the entire Van Ness staff- you've got a repeat client here! read more

Nothing was working for my sciatic nerve pain through Physical Therapy or any other treatments until I thought about a Chiropractor. I found VanNess as it was approved through my Humana HMO. The pain was gone completely after a few weeks. Jeff Parkin is who I worked with and he was great...clearly knows his stuff! read more

I've been seeing various Chiropractors for nearly 20 years, on and off, and once I found Jason (and now Jeff as well) nearly 16 years ago, I've always felt like I'm in the best hands possible. Not only do they always make time to see me, they also have helped to find other Chiropractors to see me when I've been traveling and been in a pinch (pun intended). Jason takes an approach to your overall well being, making sure your long term best interests are always the focus. Highly recommend Jason, Jeff and the entire staff! read more

I bought a Groupon for a 60 minute massage here. When I called for an appointment one of the massage therapists was out on maternity leave and the other was booked for a few weeks. The receptionist was very patient and thorough and found a time that would work for me. I took this as a good sign that this massage therapist was really good. I wasn't wrong. Janice took time to figure out which areas where bothersome for me and focused on those areas during the session. She was thorough in her questions before the massage began on what I was looking for in this massage and if I had any health issues that would affect my massage, etc. The room was nice and quiet with some soft music playing. I couldn't hear other voices in the office (which is a big annoyance of mine) and so I was able to zone out and relax. Now my only problem is I need to go back because my shoulders and upper back feel a lot better but I want Janice to focus on working out my legs next time! read more

Janis has magic hands and that's all you need to know. I am a serial Groupon massage addict. It is the only way I can justify spending money on an unneeded luxury. However, every since I came to Van Ness via Groupon, no other massage, whether stress or chiropractic compares to what I receive from Janis. Though the regular price for a 1 hour massage, $80 is pricey, she is completely amazing. Janis is the only professional who focuses on relieving all the knots in my back and neck. She find the knots I didn't know I had. Every time I use another Groupon, I am always laying in the bed comparing the masseuse to Janis, and they don't come halfway close. BEST PLACE FOR A CHIROPRACTIC MASSAGE...EVER. read more

I have been a patient since 3/2019. I initially was treated by both Drs. Van Ness and Parkin after a car accident. They treated me for a serious case of whip lash. I am happy to say that today I am much improved. I am currently being treated for another ailment, and will continue my care with Van Ness Chriropractic. The staff are professional, skilled, personable and compassionate. Office and medical staff are truly attentive to your needs and concerns. Connie M. read more

I'm new patient to Van Ness. I needed immediate access and help due to a severely misaligned SI joint that was causing severe lower back pain, tightness, lack of mobility, as well as an inability to live my normal daily life. I was grateful that they were able to get me into the office for my fist visit immediately. I appreciate that the consult began with X-rays to rule out any serious issues with my discs, etc. which out my mind at ease. The first adjustment along with electrical massage brought some immediate to my pain and tightness. The chiropractor used specific techniques for my specific issues to help ease my problem areas into the adjustment, and he had great success for all 3 visits! I also had acupuncture with electrical impulse to specifically target healing to the injured areas in my back. I feel much better after that treatment. Everybody is as very welcoming and kind, and I'm so hopeful that I'm on the road to full recovery! read more

WOW. Was I happy to find these Dudes. I am slightly disassembled, following a collision where I was stopped in the left-turn, red-arrow, left-turn lane when I got plowed in the rear by someone doing 45. The first thing I heard and felt simultaneously was the BOOM. Then heard the brakes screech. Pretty bad. Anyway. I've been there only twice, but I plan on going there however long my heart is pumping. (The Brain is in awful shape. Not reliable for much other than listening to Frank sing, "Fly Me To The Moon." Yeah. It's pretty bad. Yesterday, following my first appointment (Need someone who understands Chronic Pain? These Dudes are damn good at that! I'm still pumping lots of Adrenalin (That's because my life is SO interesting.) and yesterday, I went on to do everything I had to do, which is a lot! I didn't stop until 10 PM. I was SO tempted to cancel my appointment, but I kind of swung the other way, and decided to go with the flow. I made it. I was 2 million minutes late. The heels of my sneakers are crushed because I cannot function during the Day. Boo! I am a Sorceress. I am an Owl. I am a Vampire! Or I am a something made of other things. But I DID put on a pair of clean socks, just especially, because. Too tired to go to into the rest. Suffice it to say: Not long after my treatment ended - felt really good - when an hour had passed, I discovered I had now turned to Jelly. I became Jelly Betty for the rest of the day. I was TOTALLY wiped out. My system stepped on the brakes with the help of these Dudes. The Healers. Homeopathically inclined, there are ways to manipulate the body to heal, using minimally invasive techniques, and the body itself to heal itself. When my treatment had ended today, I protested: "I WANT MORE! More. More. More!" Then I wrapped myself up and left. (NOTE: "Dudes" = I'm bad with names! Omg. How do I get out of this one?) read more

UPDATE: 10/10/2015: No, I have not patronized this business again since my first review. Yes, I still stand by what I said in my first review. I am updating this review because, now, over one year after I posted my yelp review, I am getting yelp messages from Dr. Van Ness (2 mo ago, 2 mo ago, 1 mo ago, and again 3 weeks ago) wanting to discuss my review. When I was a patient there, I spoke directly with Dr. Van Ness to resolve my problems with his business. He was not attentive to my concerns when I shared them with him (in person and over the phone). He was in fact very rude to me. I am happy that now, over one year after I reviewed his business with my experience, he is very dedicated to addressing patient concerns, his yelp standing, and improving his practice (not necessarily in that order). I only wish he were as dedicated to helping customers who are not yelp users. Dr. Van Ness: I stand by my review. I sincerely hope you can fine tune your professional aptitude and customer service skills so that you can help future patients. Please stop messaging me. I have moved on from this experience, and I think you should too. read more

Dr. Jason and Jeff are kind, compassionate doctors who helped me tremendously when I was experiencing severe back and neck pain after going thru an uncomfortable pregnancy. I sent the office staff an email at 2am in desperation to get in to see the doctor the next day and I had a response 6 hours later that I could come in first thing in morning. Jeff was so patient - especially when my newborn had a meltdown in the office and I nearly did too. He eliminated my back pain. We have talked about everything from being a new mother and breastfeeding to teething and vaccinations. What a wealth of knowledge he has! He has also gently adjusted my son, which has helped him during colds and times of illness. I've called him when I have my doubts on if I'm doing something right and being a new mother, I can't explain the peace of mind he's brought me. I have them on speed dial, enough said... Thank you Van Ness!! Customer for life. read more

I'm not going to knock other businesses down, but how I got to Van Ness Chiro was simply out of necessity for an immediate appointment and the lines of communication with the staff at Van Ness Chiro is exceptional which isn't too common these days. Through yelp!, I used the "Request an Appointment" button at FOUR separate nearby chiro offices then waited anxiously AND patiently for the first available one. Van Ness contacted me and gave me a few different options for a first time consult visit. When I called to make the appointment, there was a live voice answering the phone and from that moment, I was so relieved. The admin staff are very kind and upbeat which makes the office visits bearable and fun. I've had very successful outcomes with each visit and each doctor. My consult visit was mind blowing because Dr Rani (who is absolutely amazing w her great humor and polite mannerisms) made sure to explain everything that she was doing before she did it. The medical equipment and technology they have is all in-house which provides convenience. They took xrays of the area that was bothering me to see (in real time!!) what and where needed to be adjusted or worked on versus just laying me on a table and manipulating everything .. which unfortunately happens sometimes at chiro offices. Dr Parkin took the time to go over in full detail what was happening in my xrays and it helped me make sense of the pains I've been feeling. Dr Van Ness makes sure to address your symptoms at each visit and takes the time to properly work on them. All the doctors are very patient and I highly recommend them! Also, the music playlist is so random and multi-generational that its great for everyone there. Added bonus, their candy selection includes (individually wrapped) Twizzlers!! read more

I have been going to chiropractors since I was a child and this office is by far the best! I called and left a message over the weekend requesting a new patient appointment for some time this week and I was surprised to get a call back on a Sunday from Dr Jason. I appreciated that he took the time to call me back ASAP and schedule me Monday morning to be seen since I was in so much discomfort from a car accident. I have never had a Dr reach out on a Sunday and accommodate getting me in so quickly! First I saw Dr Rani and she thoroughly explained everything to me and helped me have a better understanding of what treatment I need and why. After I saw Dr Jason and I've had head aches for a long time due to car accidents and today after one visit most of the pressure from my neck and head are completely gone with no daily head ache! I will forever be a patient here. I highly recommend! read more

I am a brand new patient to Van Ness Chiropractic and would like to share my experience with this exceptional office. Everyone is extremely professional, kind and mostly importantly thorough. I am also new to chiropractic care and the staff and doctors take their time to answer your questions and concerns. Our family has been using Van Ness Chiropractic for about 15 years. The care has always been exceptional and the team there has helped our family through myriad injuries. I just participated in my annual Olympic length triathlon and at 57 I was able to set a new personal record. Whether the injury or pain has been muscle or joint, the team there has always been able to help tremendously. read more

I feel Dr. Van Ness and his staff have helped me tremendously (above and beyond!) throughout the years, with pain management and my scoliosis. It has been the best chiropractic care I have ever received anywhere. They are always there to help, and are warm, attentive, and treat their patients with the utmost care. In regards to a prior comment, I feel their practice is very clean, safe, and compliant with the guidelines recommended during this pandemic. I have never had an issue regarding that, feel safe in the practice, see everything getting wiped down thoroughly, and masks being worn. Chairs are distanced in the waiting area as well. There is also hand sanitizer at the entrance. I highly recommend this practice to anyone, and am always appreciative of their outstanding care to their clients. Always grateful for all they do! read more

I needed to get in at the last minute for an appointment and was able to see Dr Jeff Parkin. Dr Van Ness and all of his staff are a great choice for those seeking Chiropractic care - A friend clued me in as to how good and understanding Dr Van Ness would be for my care. I remember my first meeting when immediately I realized that this was a knowledgable practitioner - It's been the same since - I go for regular adjustments and now have added massage therapy - Never felt that I was being sold a bill of goods. Certainly can recommend Van Ness Chiropractic. Say no more! read more

They all listen to you and answer all your questions .They always teat you like family and go an extra mile to make sure your heath comes first . You can even contact doctor Jason VanNess in person on the weekends if you have any concerns . What other doctors would do that ? Like I said , they teat you like family ! I went for my first appointment today and left before I was seen. This practice claims to be following CDC guidelines, but that's not what I witnessed. The waiting room is small. It only fits four chairs. At one point there were six people waiting and very close together. There was a patient that refused to cover her nose with a mask she reluctantly put on about five minutes after she got there. She completely removed it to chat on her phone. I waited 20 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time, then decided to wait outside. 10 minutes later I cancelled and left. If the reception area is this casual during a pandemic, I question safety and sanitation procedures in clinical areas. I have no doubt that the doctors are great. They are highly reviewed and I like their approach based on their website. I have to say I didn't feel safe. My veterinarian does a better job managing through covid. It's a shame. read more

Misleading establishment. I went to Van Ness based on the positive reviews. My experience was anything but. I was rushed every time I had an appointment. The exercise guy seems over-worked or under-staffed, and I was supposed to see him weekly, but often was never seen by him. He gave me only very basic stretches. The billing department is a joke. They do not disclose pricing. They wait at least one month to file with insurance. They do not inform you of pricing, deductible, eligibility, and other vital details until after one month of service. They seem to be masters of being able to utilize insurance companies and customers for payment. Service is unpersonable and not clear and transparent. Especially in regards to billing. read more

After weeks of pain in my calf and complete inability to stand on my tip toes in my right leg, I decided to have Dr. Van Ness evaluate my situation and get his feedback. I was very concerned after reading about how many people were suffering similar circumstances on websites related to this injury, only to have surgery and no positive results. After 6 visits to Dr Van Ness, his treatment plan was successful and I now have full range of motion and ability in my right leg to run, bicycle and do all the exercise I previously enjoyed. My advise, don't try surgery until you have seen Dr Van Ness!!! Professional, knowledgeable and great team all around him. read more

Dr. Van Ness and his staff are awesome! I've been to 3 different Chiropractors over the past 10 years or so, and this place is by far the best hands down. First off...it's a very well run office. The entire staff is super friendly, and they make you feel comfortable the minute you walk in. The office and examination rooms are very clean and all of the equipment is modern....unlike the other chiro offices i've been to in the past. The most impressive thing about this place is that the entire staff works as a team to help you with short and long term solutions for the issue/s that brought you there. I recently suffered from severe low back pain after lifting a heavy object...to the point I could barely walk or get up from a chair without assistance. Not only did I leave there feeling a million times better, but I learned about why it happened. They took the time to figure out the underlying cause and helped me put together a game plan to prevent it from happening in the future. For that I'm very grateful and would highly recommend them without hesitation. read more
