    PRALINE ICE CREAM

NAME HARD TO PRONOUNCE.... While walking along Atlantic Ave a few people told us to try a brand new ice cream parlor in the renovated Sunday Village. The Van Leeuwen (unable to pronounce correctly) ice cream parlor is in a small free standing house with a big outside patio and umbrella shades. They started serving ice cream out of a yellow food truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 and never looked back. The Sunday Village stresses the color white but the inside of this place pops with bright pink interior walls. Several choices of ice cream with three different size cups or the optional waffle bowl. Chose a tiny cup of Praline Butter Cake which was great, but the price was absurd at high $7.50. This fancy parlor only takes plastic so dont even flash your cash unless you're tipping. The gender neutral bathroom had a press code lock to enter which was issued by the scooper lady. The room was spotless with wrap around shiny tile and light purple painted walls.

I'm so glad that Van Leeuwen came to Delray! This brand new location just opened up in the newly redone Sundy Village. It's in an old remodeled house with bright lights, vibrant colors, and plenty of seating inside and out. The staff is super welcoming and friendly, offering up as many tastes as you'd like. The ice cream flavors are all super creamy and flavorful, with vegan options and Florida exclusives like key lime pie. This is absolutely my new go to ice cream spot off the Ave!

This new location in an historic house in the new Sundy Village is bright, cheerful, and charming. The staff are friendly. Of course, the ice cream is great and comes in unusual flavors. We had the "sticky rice with mango." They offer tastes, hand packed cartons or 14 oz cartons already packed from the factory. There's some seating on a porch off to the side.

Nice ice cream spot in Delray Beach. Friendly staff and nice assortment of flavors. We ordered one mint chocolate chip, and one brown sugar cookie dough & brownie. No notes.

In the Sunday House my hubby and I stopped into the brand new Van Leeuwen ice cream shop. The shop smelled delish and pink painted walls everywhere. Wanted butter pecan but they don't make that flavor. The scooper recommended the praline butter cake flavor as a close second to butter pecan. Glad I tried it since it was smooth & creamy and shared the cup with my hubby.

Went in for our first time recently. Really friendly staff, very beautiful and clean ice cream shop. The ice cream itself though was incredible. I got a scoop of honeycomb and praline butter cake, and my husband got cookies and cream. I loved both of my flavors but the praline butter cake was literally incredible. Really smooth consistency and natural taste. Definitely will be back to try other flavors!

Huge ice cream fan over here and this place definitely hit the spot! The flavors were fun and unique. I tried quite a few, one being the mango rice which was sweet and delicious! Loved the location too! It's in a very cute new building right in the historic section of Delray!

Cute place, clean & ice cream is fabulous. A block off the Main Street but worth the detour.

I've been going to Van Leeuween before they even opened shops and first tried their ice cream when it was a truck parked in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Food trucks can often be disappointing but Van Leeuwen wasn't and it lived up to its initial hype. The Delray store beats eating in the street and it doesn't hurt that the store is nice looking and large. Service was excellent and I tried a few flavors and both were very good. Van Leeuwen has a cleaner more natural taste than other brands and a nice richness. The shop is a welcome addition to downtown Delray.

The containers did not arrive in a freezer from Delray in a packed bag, the ice cream was melting once it arrived in Boca.

Very good quality ice cream. I will say the one in NYC seemed to offer more of a variety of flavors but still had very good options.

Pure sugar chaos, childhood nostalgia, and theatrical madness in Coral Springs…read more Walking into Cherry Smash feels like you accidentally stepped into the opening scene of Willy Wonka, right before someone starts singing and a child learns a moral lesson. This place is a local legend, and for good reason. Cherry Smash isn't trying to be sleek, minimalist, or Instagram-neutral. It's loud, colorful, joyful, and slightly unhinged--in the way candy shops should be. You half expect Charlie Bucket to walk in clutching a chocolate bar and a dream. Let's be honest about the ice cream: It's above average. Solid. Creamy. Well executed. No complaints. But that's not why people line up. You come here for the atmosphere. Walls stacked with candy. Colors everywhere. The kind of visual overload that makes adults nostalgic and kids vibrate at unsafe frequencies. And when Halloween hits? Forget it. Cherry Smash decorates like they take October personally. Seasonal commitment at Broadway-production levels. The candy selection is elite--classic, modern, obscure, and delightfully questionable. Yes, they have bubble gum cigarettes, which feel like a time capsule from an era when adults shrugged and said, "Eh, they'll be fine." It's kitschy, it's ridiculous, and it absolutely belongs here. Seating is limited, but honestly? That's part of the charm. This isn't a linger-for-hours café. It's a pop-in, light-up-your-inner-child, grab-something-sweet-and-go experience. The kind of place where standing is acceptable because you're too busy smiling anyway. Cherry Smash isn't just an ice cream shop--it's a mood, a memory, and a permission slip to enjoy something unapologetically fun in a world that desperately needs more of that.

You have the option to order at the window outside, or, go into the shop to order. The moment you walk in, it very very overwhelming. Tons of trinkets, posters, colors, signs and memorabilia's and figurines everywhere! The more you look, the more you'll see. Staff seemed like they were there just for their paychecks, and not really caring for the customer service or offering their opinion or recommendations, the night we visited there was a good amount of patrons. There's seating off the right side of the shop and a few towards the back. They have a very wide selection of ice cream flavors. I settled for a dulce deleche, and it was just ok. We ordered that, and I took some pictures and left. The interior was too much for me, personally. Way too much going on.

While the food was generally good--my veal chop from the prix fixe menu was flavorful, though slightly dry--other dishes were, unfortunately, just average. What truly undermined the evening, however, was the service. Throughout the night, several guests struggled with repeatedly unfilled water glasses and had to ask multiple times for basic items. Our waitress hardly checked in until the end of the meal, with minimal follow-up during dinner. The situation escalated when, after paying, our waitress, Haley B, approached the table in a confrontational manner, questioning me directly--three separate times--about the tip, in front of the entire group. Gratuity should reflect the quality of both service and overall experience; being pressured for a higher tip despite the lack of attention was entirely out of line. To make matters worse, my follow-up call to management was equally disappointing. The response was all talk, no action. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism left a lasting negative impression.
