It was a very cool experience and one that I'll be adding to my annual Tulsa traditions. I was very impressed. The lineup was awesome. Fortune Feimster from Chelsea Lately and Monroe Martin completely killed it. We liked it so much and had such a great time that we decided to purchase tickets to the 10:30pm show. My cheeks were hurting from all the laughing and smiling! There was a short break in between which gave us plenty of time to grab something to eat and then come back. I did feel a bit frustrated because their electronic system was down so they ended up not even checking our tickets. Felt like anyone that attended the 8pm show could've easily just walked right back in. I wasn't a huge fan of the 10:30pm lineup mostly because of my taste in jokes I guess. I'm one of those people that believe some things are just not funny nor appropriate, like joking about rape, molestation or pedophiles... I think it's insensitive to those that have been through a traumatic experience like that and it can be misinterpreted by others as undermining the seriousness of it. I don't think it's acceptable to use that as a butt of a joke unless the comedian is actually a victim themselves and have gone through it firsthand. If that's how they cope or deal with it all, then that's their right but I didn't know if that was the case. Others didn't seem to mind...(rant over). The late show was definitely more "raunchy", dark and morbid, which is good to know now (maybe this is common knowledge?). I did enjoy watching Ron Funches though and overall it was a good experience.

It is - and so is the extra pole that was added to the fence after it buckled during the first take. The inside is quaint, semi recreated and jam packed with memorabilia from the film. I loved the bedroom that recreates the setting where Ponyboy read Johnny's letter, which inspired him to write his English essay. I also loved all the random movie posters, candid photos and movie costumes - especially the autograph wall. The volunteers - who are strategically stationed around the property are the best. They're happy to talk all things book, movie and Tulsa related. If you're nice - they'll tell you about Crutchfield Park, which is just down the street and where the Greaser / Soc rumble was filmed.

You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do and they are eager to share stories and little-known facts about the history behind the movie and exhibits. Their passion really brings the place to life. While we were there we met some fans who had traveled from out of state just to visit. We also chatted with the photographer who was a neighborhood local at the time of the filming and happened to capture behind the scenes photographs on set. He now sells photographs onsite and had some fun stories to share. Parking is convenient with a small lot out back, but if that's full, there's usually plenty of street parking nearby. There is a great little gift shop to check out before you leave as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I also got the opportunity to see the Lego sculptures. Very creative. Wear your walking shoes as there is a lot of walking with lots to see. They also thoughtfully have plenty of benches placed around the garden and lake to sit and take a break and just take in the surroundings. They do have a little snack shop outside on the lawn. There was also a nice hiking trail that we walked on. The owners definitely do a good job at keeping this place nice. The bathrooms here were actually pretty clean. The service was good. The employees at the front desk were helpful. Overall, great place and I highly recommend coming here! Ps, don't wear Birkenstocks here because there's a lot of walking.

It's refreshing to get more familiar with artists I don't see everyday. Outside of art exhibitions, there are activations that take place. Another thing I enjoy overall is how local Positive Space Tulsa is. I'm very big on local because it showcases what's capable of being done in + from our backyard & Tulsa (alone) has so much talent. They keep everything up to date on their social media (I follow their Instagram positivespace_tul) & their Linktree. There's an exhibition going on right now & there's another one coming up in December. The founder, Nicole, is usually there when I'm visiting & she's always nice.
