We had a great experience here. We arrived early in the morning and the hotel held our luggage…read moreuntil we came back later that afternoon to check in. They offer bike rentals which was convenient; however, it was $15 a day which is pricer than we anticipated. Great location if you're taking public transportation because it is a 2 minute walk to the central station and yet our hotel room was quiet with a great view!

I actually had and event booked at another hotel in Rotterdam (The Slaak), however 2 weeks before…read morewe were to arrive I received an email from the property that they were behind schedule. Merel van Dort from The Slaak recommended the Rotterdam Marriott, and even offered to cover the difference in rate. Bonus point #1 to Merel for having done this! I then began working with Demi Vevat at the Rottderdam Marriott, who managed the transition seamlessly. We had a few last minute cancellations, which she also graciously allowed us to cancel. From working with Demi, to checking in, to our overall experience, I have to say the customer service at this hotel is as good as it gets! Everyone went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great! Shout out also to Olaf, who was a gem to work with! The rooms were spacious and clean, the Concierge Lounge had a great breakfast and evening snacks. We had a couple of meetings in there that afforded us a quiet spot to meet. The proximity to the train station is PERFECT, and the ability to walk to many places is easy. I would definitely stay at this property again! Thank you again to both Olaf and Demi!!

I will have to start with the parking situation. This has to be the absolute worst, not only do…read morethey not have parking you could end up parking miles away from the hotel. The neighborhood the hotel is located in is a little sketchy as people hang around corners and by the parking lot. It would seem to be right to have parking for the hotel even if it's chargeable at a daily rate. The lobby area of the hotel is more of a hangout. We got into the room only to find a bed full of hair strands everywhere and in the opposing room (suite) there were chairs (love seat and oversized chair) under the daylight looks as if there were consummation occurring or animals laying all over them. We called the staff for additional sheets to put over the bed and chairs so that we could at least enjoy them however no one came. It wasn't until that evening we were coming in from dinner that the nice night staff brought us one. My suggestion is to remember you get what you paid for......unfortunately. .........lesson learned.....

Call me a snob, spoil If you must, but I dare you to spend money on this…read more.. When everything else is booked for the North Sea jazz the Art hotel looked like a sensible choice. Driving to Ahoy was just a breeze, plenty of parking space. **ok The lobby looks like it has been forgotten since 19never, it is out of date. We spent 3 night, each time we time we had to renew the keycard, refusing to give us 2 cards was a bit frustrating. Requesting fresh towels was frustrating ***Staff walking in on us while we were naked to just for dirty towels. Thank god she didn't have her smartphone with her, could have been a story. ***don't expect any amenities (tea, coffee) in the room **Great mattress Lousy pillows, don't get me started on the covers or whatever they are. Ok ok ok: staff I am always friendly to get the best out of people, however when you have staffs who are not happy with the current owner it is never ever a good sign. After complaining about our room not being clean, the hotel staff are trained to just ignore the issue and dismiss you as a guest. The reception is a mess! ***Whenever you have a owner who really don't care, that is never a good sign. This hotel is a cash cow just because of the location ***When a restaurant INSIDE a hotel doesn't want to deal with the hotel is never ever a good sign. Thus said, we found pleasure chatting with the staff in the restaurant, especially Ieva from Latvia, she is always running from the restaurant to the hotel lounge to take good care of her clients, Bravo. Would I recommend this hotel: no However, if want to upgrade from a very bad hostel, this would be the next stage. That is not a hotel/motel, this owner needs to sell it to someone who knows how to run a hotel and wants to run one. The owner needs to hire staffs who can do the work and are qualified This hotel needs a facelift from top to bottom Would I go back? I almost choked at the thought. Not even if it was free. Yelp... Not the largest room in the world, probably about the same size as the cabin I had on the ferry…read morefrom Harwich. But it was quiet and it was secure, down a hallway around a corner and then down a flight of stairs. Wi-fi is free (get a code from the front desk), as is a large spread for a Continental breakfast. There is an evening restaurant and a bar, but I didn't take advantage of either of those. The hotel is a half mile from Centraal Station, or you can take the tram and it's one of the first few stops. There's not much immediately nearby, but if you walk down to the Hofplein, there are restaurants. Or just keep walking straight and you'll get to the Maritime Museum and more! Bonus: As with so many folks in the Netherlands, everyone I interacted with (even the woman clearing tables in the restaurant!) spoke fantastic English.

It is also walkable to the central parts of the city so better than average location. Friendly personnel upon check-in, was given a room quickly. Had sort of a discussion on the city tax as my booking stated that it was included but they wanted to charge me again. It is a minor cost but still annoying. They did however provide Internet without charge for 24 hours (otherwise one hour was without cost) so that was good. The lobby was pretty depressing and could really use some refreshing. The elevator up to the rooms had also seen better days.My expectations on the room were not great. The room as such was very small, the narrow bed took up a large part of the room. There was a small desk as well and a wardrobe. Everything felt very much budget like but it was functional. TV, coffee/tea making facilities as well as a safe was provided. The bathroom was also small but it was also functional. Breakfast was included in the rate and it was served in a very large breakfast room. The selection was however fairly depressing. There was some hot (very little) and cold food. Quality was below average (even for the Netherlands) so if it is included it is OK to grab something but it is not worth paying for.
