This is a pretty new park even though it's been open a few years but I would say it's a better park…read morethan any other Lathrop park. It's near an elementary school but not as close with a whole grass field between. The pathway that's between the school and park is wide and shady, filled with places to sit, workout and eat. There is a restroom at the park and on the Slate Street side closer to the school. The water splash pads runs continuously during the day in the summer because the water is recycled and filtered. They have city workers that check up the area regularly. I see them in the mornings when I go for a walk sometimes. They added a new pergola type area next to the tennis courts. More tables to enjoy and a bbq pit I believe The parking is pretty much street parking but it seems that a lot of the visitors are from the area so they most likely walk to it. Ice cream trucks, well vans come by and sometimes the school would invite Kona Ice usually on Wednesdays sometimes. Kona would usually be on the Slate Street side FYI

They also have pickleball courts and a skate park. The skate park is always full of happy, laughing kids--never seen any issues. Pickleball can get busy, so if you want to play, try going early or in the late afternoon. I've heard the regulars are friendly, so just let them know you want to join and it shouldn't be a problem. There are shaded tables, BBQ areas, and plenty of space to relax while the kids play. People there are always friendly, and we've had nothing but good experiences so far. Fun and a great way to see more of the community and enjoy and night out with the fam for free. Brought chairs, blankets and food to munch on during the movie. They start the movies when it gets dark 8:30-8:45pm. Lot of street parking available and restroom nearby. The park offers a basketball court and a tennis court. Lots of room for dogs to run around or host a flag football game!

Some idiots thought it would be a good idea to play golf on a camp site. The ball badly bruised my kids kneecap. As usual there was NOBODY there to help us or reprimand those idiots! I called the police and they never came! Sad! They were white needless to say. The loud and rude gang members were Mexican. You can't sleep at night due to all the gang members making noise and drinking all night. It's very unsafe and loud. There's barely if not any park rangers around to help in case of emergencies like drunk gang members wanting to start a fight with you. You're pretty much on your own. This is not a safe place for young children unless you have about 4 other adults going with you. The last time I went me and my kids saw 1 woman and a 3 guys doing it in the shower area. More like they were doing her, so I packed everyone and everything up and left. I will never return to this place ever again. This place seriously needs more park rangers especially at night.

Easiest way to put it. But this park has a lot of grassy area, a back stop with fence to hit baseball/softballs, a mini tennis court, and horse shoe toss thing. What I love about this park is the non bark/sandy area! So easy to take my 1 to and she can't put anything in her mouth because the ground is made of that rubber bouncy material. There's a toddler play area, and then a bigger kids one. Clean tables, with plenty of trash cans. There are no bathrooms the only negative. If you are in the area and have little ones definitely should get out and get some outdoor time here.
